Song of sorrow, song of joy..

Lives are taken away in the field of battle, where war is flourishing and quite alive, painting the ground with vitae from those that have fallen. Lives are born while another is taken, the sound of a child being born is heard. She has experienced the wonders and tragedies of the world without ever laying her eyes upon it. Song revealed what Sybellea experienced, beautiful or tragic, it flowed past her lips in honeyed tones to fill the air.

Her trance-like state leaves her vulnerable, though her songs are either melodious songs of salvation or a wail of sorrow. Several have heard the songs of her dreams, for many - it was their last symphony. From lords to other prophets, she and her sister sibyls, were at their disposal. Often the interpretation of these songs were difficult to unravel, for they hardly made no sense - until it was far too late. Nonetheless, they were sought by the lords of their land, often visiting their designated temple, to seek time with the prophetesses, some would rise from the depths of the water - others would remain hidden and send their own messengers to the surface to relay the dreams.

As a youth, she was kept away from most and surrounded herself mostly by women of religion, in order to remove any distractions the opposite sex might have. Because of this seperation, she lacked much knowledge when it came to men. Sybellea was shrouded in mystery to other lords, for she was the untouched one, the one who saw all and nothing at all. Not once did they pity the fair youth, for she offered them a gift. Her ears - were their eyes - when she was not having her visions. She heard for a mile underneath the cool of the surface, for sound was amplified and carried on faster underneath the waves than in air, four times so. This gift appealed mostly to those that were locating lost treasures of the deep, cities ( much like Atlantis ) and hidden secrets of the depths below.

It is said that she practiced such a skill with the help of her friends, the dolphins, for more often than not, she was found studying them in silence, deciphering the frequency modulated whistles they had - even attempting, terribly, at mimicking them. Her ties with them formed a bond and soon she was able to detect and decipher the different frequencies, even using her own signature song to contact them for their aid.

"The Seer, with her mouth uttering things not to be laughed at, reaches to a thousand years with her voice by aid of the god."

Such majesty in peasant clothes..

One such as herself can't possibly make clicking sounds and shrills to make her way through the darkness of her life. Throughout her services in aiding others, she was offered gifts to assist her with her travels to and fro betwixt temples. The most helpful gifts will be listed below:

Sybelleagem.gif Star of the Sea - Imbued with a spell, it was given to her on her tenth year of birth. It increases the range of her voice.

Sybelleagem.gif Delphinae - From the temple of Okeanos, an actual dolphin that became her traveling companion, [ who she named in honor of Delphin ], offered her fin to Sybellea and carried her where she desired.

Sybelleagem.gif Rings of Frequency - Just as the name states, adorning her lithe wrists are heavy golden bracelets, they are also infused with magic. When they collide, they send out high pitched frequencies into the ambient, allowing the waves to reflect back to her to paint the image in the recesses of her mind.

Sybelleagem.gif Attire - Wrapped in soft fabrics, the robes are embroidered with gold along the hem that dips between her legs and exposes her sides. Keeping the robe together are cords detailed with shells at the end of the them. Often a hood conceals her visage, heavy and dipping low, her closed eyes are shrouded in shadow because of this. A sheer veil keeps the lower half of her face concealed from view slightly. Sleeves dip off her shoulders, tied with a ribbon along her forearms, it went past her fingertips and the bracelets she wore. Depending on whether she is about or in the temple, she could be bare foot or wearing light, laced-up, sandals. Boots are worn when she is out in the field with her kin.
