Well, pretty much any compliment I give on this piece is going to fall into the "my wife says I'm cool" gap, so I'll just go with, "I loved reading it". And I love to see you writing. I feel sorry for poor Harm, though XP Oh, and you got Backbeat more-or-less spot-on, so worry less about that - I think you can predict most of my characters pretty well by now ;p --Fox Lee 22:35, 12 August 2007 (MST)

Nah, it's okay. I liked it, though I was confused as to whether the conversation with Flare was happening in Harlem's head or had actually occurred...I suppose it's simplest to say that she was stunned into silence. She probably wouldn't have done much more than express sympathy and -- depending on exactly what day it was and what she'd heard at that point -- agree that Kacey was gone and they had to accept that. On the other hand, 'Harlem' would have definitely surprised her with such an emotional outburst so she might not even have had the presence of mind to do that. Heh, I do wish I'd been linked to this before so I could incorporate it into my own stuff, but that's about it. - Themiscyra

Holy crap. I honest to god never thought to direct you to this. I'm really sorry - I'm sure that it looks bad.
The authorial intent is that, yes, Harlem did say that to Caitlin, while they were walking around. I didn't want to leave the 'Harlem has a Crush on Kacey' plotline dangling, but since I was fairly sure nobody but me noticed it in the first place, I figured making a big song and dance out of it was really quite selfish. With that in mind, I wrote this, which is a resolution.
The conversation happened prior to the beginning of the story; the entire section in italics is in flashback, and was meant to drop a hint that even Caitlin could notice about how things were going for Harlem. - Talen Lee, really bad at responses
