The Amoral Vigilante also known as The Red Ghoul, The Crey Ghost, and Sam Brown is a Neuropsychologist who has been fighting crime purely to combat the effects of boredom. He's infamous for avoiding the law in Paragon and yet upholding Justice. He however doesn't do anything for justice, which puts his Vigilantism into question. However he only fights criminals because although he isn't ethical he'd prefer to be surrounded by people who think they act ethical.

Personality

Sam has a tendency to be easily amused but also easily bored. He's been described as cynical, misanthropic, amoral, and often will make misogynist jokes in front of women and racist jokes in front of another ethnicity purely for kicks. He'll often do extreme things to repel boredom; from throwing rocks and breaking bottles to snapping the neck of a crimelord or serial rapist. Sam has no regard for authority or law and has no qualms with breaking the law or stealing something he wants. Despite this he only fights criminals and villains as he'd prefer to live around good people rather than evil people. It is also to be noted he is a stalwart rational and a chronic apathetic.

History

Born in Skyway City to Dr. Drake Brown and Mrs. Claire Robinson-Brown, from an early age he showed signs of antisocial behavior. He always preferred to play alone and never spoke when other children were around. Other than that he was a relatively easy child to raise. He grasped the concepts of multiplication and division before entering preschool and showed an endless fascination with the fields of knowledge. He would often read about Ancient Civilizations and Aristotle even as he drank his grape juice at the playskool table. This would have made him a prime target for bullies if it had not been for one thing: he fights back. Sam would fight off the bullies that came to bully him or anyone sitting by him. He didn't do it because he felt it was the right thing to do but rather because he was bored. It was either that or they wanted his graham crackers. He didn't like it when bullies made him split his attention between them and the books so his beatings were often vicious ones. The teacher sent Sam home many a time with notes attached to his jacket for his brutal behavior.

As he went through elementary school and into middle school his thrill seeking continued. He fought off bullies even when they were armed. As they got further into high school however the weapons became bigger and badder. After getting stabbed in the arm, Sam decided he'd have to get bigger and badder weapons himself. He bought claws from a martial arts enthusiast friend of his who trained him how to use them. They were called 'Viper Claws' and they were used in a movie 'The Ninja Robot of Ching Huang'. As a result after being seen using them, some kids around school called him 'Ninjabot' as a joke.

After high school he had no use for the claws anymore. He simply couldn't find any bullies in college. His boredom started to grow again. He read about superheroes fighting off the Clockwork in the paper which caused him to spark an idea. Sam picked up his claws and went out to Atlas City to fight criminals.

The Red Ghoul

The media dubbed him 'The Amoral Vigilante' and the Gangsters called him 'The Nihilist'. He was a vigilante who fought thugs and villains viciously and often maimed or permanently injured them, if not killed them. Other heroes arrested and tried to minimize injury. As a result the Paragon Police Department issued arrest warrants for the Amoral Vigilante. It was at this time Brown formulated a disguise for himself. Being a Neuropsychologist, he decided to create a disguise that struck chords of fear in the criminal's reaction. He created a flexible Kevlar fiber body suit which acted as an armor against both bullets and blades. Being invulnerable to pain and many forces by nature already only made him more unstoppable. He added retractable stainless steel claws to the suit and had it colored to look intimidating. He added a Kevlar fibered cloak which helped stop bullets and two hardened ceramic, spiked shoulder pads. Upon seeing him in guise, one drug peddler famously dubbed him 'The Red Ghoul' in his final breath.

The police eventually made out an arrest warrant for the Red Ghoul, and connected the Amoral Vigilante's acts to the Red Ghoul. The Red Ghoul thus allowed Sam to lead his school life unfettered by both the law and crime as well allow him to fight both law and crime when ready.

The Crey Ghost

Eventually when Sam was busting up a Crey operation, he was approached by the Countess who put forth a deal. They'd fund him and supply him with gear and even some stimulants to build his body and his reflexes. In return he would look the other way when they broke the law (sometimes) and do missions -for- them should they need it.

He started getting shots of mutagen which improved his strength, perception, and reflexes and went from 5'8" to 6'8". After undergoing this radical physical change, he received a PhD in Neuroscience for his research of Computer Brain Interface and mundane cyborg psychology.
