Backstory

Autumn Springs

As a young girl, Autumn Springs was fascitnated by Earth Science, like her father, William. She wanted to know as much as she could, and wished to be a meteorologist like her father when she gre older. In an attempt to learn more and more about Earth Sciences, young Autumn would follow her father to the research facility he worked at in Seattle. No one seemed to mind her coming in after school. Autumn would merely sit in a chair and watch them do their work.

As she grew older, her passion for the sciences grew. As a teenager, she took an internship at the research center, relishing in the fact she could now participate in the work she had been watching for several years. Autumn worked diligently, allowing the research center to be her life outside of school.

However, Autumn never saw much of her father in these years. As the lead on the Spriggan Serum project, he was always tucked away in lab C-34.

An Outbreak

There was an accident in C-34 when Autumn brought a sample to her father with questions at the ready. The serum was left unattended for too long, and the chemical compound began to boil furiously. The liquid evaporing, the serum had become airborne. The cells of Spriggan Disorder inside the serum began contaminating many things in the lab. Dr. Springs, Autumn, Dr. Marks, and Dr. Forge were contaminated as well.

As a disease that altered the mind's development, it was unable to lodge itself in the aldult's brains, and thus the three scientists in the lab didn't contract a case of the disorder. Autumn, barely sixteen, had a brain that was still developing. The disorder began to manifest that night.

She awoke with a high fever, blinded and scared. Screaming, she was taken to the nearest hospital. Storms began to rack the hospital, gale winds blowing straight at the windows of Autumn's room. The blindness coming in waves, but the fever steady, doctors of Seattle were left clueless as to her diagnosis. Told that the best medical attention they could find was in Paragon, the Springs family boarded the next flight to Rhode Island.

Once at Chriron, doctors took Autumn in immidatley, but they too were stunned. Having trouble finding a diagnosis that fit, Autumn passed out on the hospital bed. In her nconciousness, vines broke through the floors and encircled the bed. Wrapping themselves around Autumn, the Spriggan Disorder, now full-fledged, began to take it's toll.

It began to snow outside. Trees that had been dead for years sprung back to life, blossoms of green slowly poking their way ouut of the bark. Autumn's fever spiked even higher as the tiniest seeds began to emerge from her pores. The sweat the fever produced watered them, and the foliage began to grow.

Awakening after the transformation, Autumn had become a Spriggan. Instructed to stay in Paragon, as she would blend better in a city of heroes than she would in Seattle. Autumn became a hero of Paragon, commanding the seasonal storms of Autumn and the plant life of Rhode Island.
