Tian Shang Lung

One of the first characters I created, what can I say, I am partial to villainy. Her appearance in-game has recently changed as I was informed that she resembled a cross-dressing pirate. I also toned down her face, so she's less...fanatic looking.

History

Tian shang lung 9.jpg
Tian Shang Lung (天 上 龍) was perhaps the most prideful, ambitious and arrogant member of the Zodiac Guardsmen. These traits would serve her well as a leader, but would also make her susceptible to corruption. Tian Shang Lung was one of the longest-serving Guardsmen prior to the Great Betrayal. She and Ti Gou were a few of the last Guardsmen to have derived their powers soley from magic sources. As such, though not immortal, both were very long-lived.

A respectful rivalry existed between the two when the then-leader of the Zodiac Guardsmen had to step down. The Snow Rabbit had more than served her duty and had earned the right to fade quietly into the mortal realm. Through friendly competition and not-so-friendly combat matches, Tian Shang Lung emerged as the leader of the Zodiac Guardsmen. Ti Gou was very accepting of this fate, as he truly respected his old friend and could think of no one better to lead.

Tian Shang Lung led the Zodiac Guardsmen into an age when the lines between mortals and Immortals were blurred. Mortals everywhere were appearing with powers which would shake the Pillars of Heaven themselves. Strange creatures, not seen since the days before the Jade Emperor ascended to the Throne of Heaven, were returning. Visitors and conquerors from worlds beyond even the reach of the Celestial Palace arrived in the mortal realm with alarming regularity. And an old foe of the Guardsmen, the Tsoo were rising in strength, clashing frequently with the Guardsmen.

After one particularly brutal encounter with a Tsoo sorcerer, an exhausted Tian Shang Lung stood over her vanquished foe. With his dying breath, the Tsoo sorcerer took advantage of her weakened state and opened a small link to her mind. Soon, she would hear the whispered temptations of the Tsoo. And gradually she would crave the power of the Jade Emperor for herself.

Tian Shang Lung is considered to be the First of the Fallen, as she was the one who would lead the Tsoo to other Guardsmen. However, before she and her other Fallen Guardsmen of the Great Betrayal could act, they were all cast from the Celestial Palace.

Now, the Celestial Dragon finds herself humbled, degraded and making her own way in the Rogue Isles. Her powers had been greatly diminished and she must struggle to a top position amongst the multitude of villains in Lord Recluse's domain. She has made contact with other Fallen Guardsmen and together they are building up their power and gathering allies.

First, she must exact revenge on the surviving Loyal Guardsmen now residing in Paragon City. And then, she will topple the Jade Emperor from the Throne of Heaven. Even as a Fallen Guardsmen, her pride, ambition and arrogance will serve her well.

Description

Tian shang lung 10.jpg
Tian Shang Lung craves power above anything else, though she'll happily settle for bloody vengeance in the meanwhile. She has been humiliated when cast from the Celestial Palace and rather than see the fault in herself, she lashes out at the world in fury.

Whatever more noble aspects she may have had when still a loyal member of the Zodiac Guardsmen has long since been lost. Her last selfless act may have been to save the soul of her husband, Xi Xiong Ji. But, even then, the Celestial Dragon found a way to turn the tragic circumstances to her advantage. Whereas before, her husband was a reluctant supporter of hers, now he is fully in her thrall. He had become a wretched and twisted reflection of his former noble self, but he was fully her creature.

Tian Shang Lung has the ability to manipulate and destroy minds. In her current diminished state, she lacks many of her more powerful attacks and has had to resort to physical combat. Though she detests having to actually lay hands upon her opponent, she has learned to appreciate the more visceral aspects of hand-to-hand combat.

When facing against a group of opponents, she has been known to hold one member in place while she punishes the others. Tian Shang Lung takes sadistic pleasure in giving the hapless victim a "preview" of what is in store for him.

She also possesses the power of telekinesis, which she uses to hover in the air. Her power has since been greatly enhanced by her recent theft of the "Jade Dragon Braces", which augment her telekinesis enough to soar through the skies.
