Trent McCormick
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
- "Yup. Fire and dismemberment are the two most common demonly weaknesses. This RPG does both."
"Uhh... it didn't work so well against the Boleri Fire Demon."
"No... no it didn't... you're right... that was a bad day."- -Trent McCormick reminding Will Black of past tactical errors.
Trent McCormick is an accomplished supernatural hunter currently operating out of the Rogue Isles. Along with his friend and partner Will Black, Trent has defeated many threats to humanity's existence. He is closely associated with The Templar Order, and although he is not a member of the organization officially, he has been given honorary status within their ranks.
Unlike majority of the population from the Rogue Isles, Trent has no innate powers, abilities, mutations, and has no tail. He is a human of average height, a little on the skinny side, and enjoys watching sci-fi while eating Captain Crunch. Instead of magic or martial arts, Trent relies on his brain in his exploits to save the world from evil. He is credited with the creation of the world's first sunlight flashbang (named Sunshine in a Can™), paintball casings injected with holy water, and the sunlight emulating flashlight among other gadgets and utilities. There have been rumors in the supernatural underground for several years that there is more to him then just this. Some claim he controls an army of robots, or that he is a robot. Others say he's a mind reader, or that he can actually see the past or future. Few know of him by name, and even those who do don't always know his face.

Personality
- "He has the unique and impressive inate ability to turn any body of water he encounters into sugar-based combinations. He has an intersting facination with turning all the rain drops into lemon drops and gum drops."
When faced with conflict Trent prefers to take a less central role, often encouraging others to think of creative solutions to problems then taking direct action himself. However, when directly confronted by an opponent Trent has no issue taking a more 'traditional' approach to resolve issues.

Birth of an Unlikely Hero
- "Look, I get it. Hell, after 200 years with demonic abilities, I'd be on a power trip too. But the reality is, no one cares about your *oh so evil* monologue, can we just skip to the part where Will kicks your ass?"
Early History
Trent McCormick was born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 26th to very normal and very human parents. His father Carl was a detective with the Boston Police Department Special Investigations, while his mother Erin gave up her career as a court recorder in order to raise young Trent.
Trent learned to read at a very young age. He graduated straight from reading “Listen and Look, a Safety Book” to the instruction manual for “Zelda II: Link's Adventure”. It was with the discovery of video games that Trent became obsessed with Technology. It wasn't enough to play a game, he needed to understand how the image got from that tiny gray cartridge to the television screen. In time he would learn that, and so much more.
When Trent was eight his mother was found dead in Pleasure Bay, a body of water inside Boston Harbor. Her wrists were punctured and slit, and although it was ruled a suicide by investigators, Carl and Trent never accepted it. Facing a tarnished reputation eroded by suspicions of an abusive private life, Carl transferred to Jersey City PD.
Unwilling to dwell on his Mother's death, Trent focused his time and energy into the world of computers. Living so close to New York City provided him with an excellent network of hackers to learn from, as well as an abundance of targets to practice on. Trent was never a black hat, but he could crack and con with the best of them, often misleading them into honeypots, or traps set up by local law enforcement.
- "Mess with the best, die like the rest." -Zero Cool / Crash Override - Hackers
Carl McCormick never accepted the death of his wife, and lead his own private investigation for years. The more he looked into it, the stranger her death, and the deaths of various 'Jane Does' became. At the same time, Trent was fronting his own Investigation, not of his mother's mysterious death, but into a New York based pharmaceutical firm. Trent first noticed the huge spending expenses on the company's budget when it came to “misc repair” or “toilet seats”, and then later observed the extensive disposal of “hazardous waste”.
