Twilight Silverlace

Twilight Silverlace is my stab at a Dark/Dark tank. After settling on the plant based look, I was hit by the idea of the plants being a hostile life form she encountered working for Portal and the rest flowed from there.

Personality
Elana's been through a lot in the last year and is truly lucky to be alive, even if it left her part plant. Life draining, negative energy plant. She's enjoying being alive and is charging forward in her new role, provided by Portal Corp, Magi, and her new abilities.
She finds her abilities thrilling, if disturbing if she thinks about them too much. The elevation to Hero is exciting, as a former Portal employee, she'd had a few personal encounters with them and now she's on of the elite!
Elana doesn't want to show her amazement all the time, a bit worried about looking like a giggling twit. This doesn't color her completely and she tends to take a few quite moments to marvel at the things she encounters, if they're not trying to kill her.
Powers
Silverlace's Powers are produced by a combination of the dark plants that have bonded to her and the process that bonded said plants to keep them from killing her. She generates negative energy and uses that in both offensive and defensive capabilities.
Abilities
Elana's background is in field work for the Portal Corporation. She started as an intern and worked her way up as a general laborer. She's acquired knowledge in various dimensions, portal technology, and is learning quite a bit about magic working for Magi, since her incident.
Weaknesses and Limitations
Silverlace is no longer 100% human and her body is taxed by the interplay of the negative plants and her magically augmented human body. She maintains no body heat, leaving her complexion a chilled blue. Most things she touches feel hot or very warm to her, although the negative aura from the plant seems to maintain a comfortable tempature for her.
Her eyes have become light sensitive and she wears sunglasses most of the time, even an average night in the city is bright enough to let her get away with sunglasses.
History
At the Start
Elana Linn was a worker for Portal Corp. She'd been promoted to off world expeditions after years of work and was enjoying the exotic work this provided. Things changed after her team was sent to a world previously controlled by the Circle of Thorns. The world was covered with black plants and Portal Corp was interested in gathering artifacts, examining plants, and figuring out a way to keep the deadly artifacts scattered throughout the world from being scavenged by others.
A lost expedition
When her team didn't return, Portal Corp sent a few local heroes to the world to see what happened. The heroes found the teams site rather quickly and the place was overgrown with the black plants. There were no people or organic materials to be found. Searching further, they found Elana, phased out, yet still with plants surrounding her. The foliage had immobilized her.
Cutting the plants freed Elana to move about, but a lot of the plants seem to be half phased into her. She returned with the heroes to Portal Corp in this odd state. Once she was phased back to a proper reality frame, she nearly collapsed in pain as the plants started devouring her. Elana admitted to carrying a potion with her on all her off world excursions, as an insurance against anything wierd.
M.A.G.I.
Portal Corp and the heroes involved searched desperately for a way to remove the life draining plants. In the end, there seemed to be no way to separate them from her. The phasing out had set them too far into her body, and possibly her very essence. In the end, she was subjected to a ritual that grants inhuman vitality to the recipient. The risk of dying during the ritual seemed pretty reasonable compared to knowing the plants would kill her.
In the end, she survived and had wound up permanently bonded to the plants. Portal Corp retired her to let her work closely with MAGI, partly to monitor her health and to help her adjust to her new, magical nature.
