Dream
- Pinch me. This is too good to believe.
- On second thought, don't. I'd much rather not wake up, and have to go back to that miserable existence I'm supposed to call a life. Here, I'm with people I like and respect, and who like and respect me in turn. There, I must put up with a tyrant of a stepfather, his ridiculous edicts and imbecilic offspring.
- I keep expecting to wake up to crushing disappointment. But maybe this is real, and I never have to go back to that awful place I used to call home. This can be my new home. This can be my new life — and eventually maybe I'll forget my old one. There's hardly any of it worth remembering anyway. Stauchern may see me again, but it won't be the same me.
