The Most Important Thing

"I am chaos. I am the substance from which your artists and scientists build rhythms. I am the spirit with which your children and clowns laugh in happy anarchy. I am chaos. I am alive, and I tell you that you are free."

The Uru

A great deal of history, even of the paltry sum that is relatively public domain, has come and gone for Uruare. Chapters beyond counting have begun and ended, and Time keeps marching on.

She's been around for a very long time. Before humanity existed on Earth, she was somewhere, nobbing around. When the Oranbegans were first puzzling over magic and gods were just figuring out they could get fat on aggregate worship, Uru was there, mostly minding her own business, except for when she wasn't.

The truth of everything to do with her is that she really is an immortal, and she really is as old as she occasionally claims to be. It's why she really isn't threatened by anything, doesn't take all that much too seriously and can't be arsed to worry about just about anything.

That isn't to say that she doesn't have goals or objectives or ambitions. It's just that she knows she will achieve them. She has all the time there is, and she knows with a degree of absolute certainty that she can do anything she wants to, if she simply bothers herself to figure out how.

Most of the time, what she wants to do is eat interesting foods, listen to the music various species create and enjoy whatever arts, cultures and societal structures people have created in whatever dimension she's touring.

Like Rularuu, she's a dimensional sojourner. Unlike Rularuu, she's not even vaguely interested in conquest or ruling anything, and in her more honest and revealing moments, she might let it be known that she often hunts down and eats things that are like that. "They wreck things they can't fix and ruin possibilities they are invariably totally ignorant about." she says about those sorts, and she really just doesn't have any interest in tolerating that kind of thing.

So she doesn't. And chances are really good that you'll never know about any of that, because she doesn't usually tell people the 'serious business' she gets up to.

Except for when she does.

One day Mal-2 consulted his Pineal Gland and asked Her if She really created all of those terrible things. She told him that She had always liked the Old Greeks, but that they cannot be trusted with historic matters. "They were," She added, "victims of indigestion, you know."

Suffice it to say that She is not hateful or malicious. But she is mischievous, and does get a little bitchy at times

Physical Summary

If analyzed with sufficiently powerful bioscanners, it is apparent that Uruare's various bodies are made of some manner of energetic substance that has been made to take the form of other types of matter (Dark matter, for those who'd recognize the properties of such). In no form is she hindered of vision by any amount or absence of light, she typically has an extraordinarily keen sense of smell and doesn't have a genetic template at all. Her body are all eldritch constructs and, as such, is potentially vulnerable to things that damage magical constructs, though some of her bodies might take an extreme amount of that certain magical something to so much as dent let alone damage.

She herself; the animating force; is never harmed by anything that happens to her bodies, even if it is obliterated horrifically. She'll make a new one soon enough when that occurs, though any objects or equipment she'd had in her possession are lost with the destroyed body or at least left where it died.

It usually takes her anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to put a new body together. The more time she takes, the more high-quality and useful it will be as a vessel. If all she needs is a rush-job body that can wander around and perform basic and rudimentary activites, she can whip one of those together in moments, but it won't be good for much of anything except what a completely normal human might be able to accomplish in physical terms.

At any given time, there are an unknown number of variant Uru's active in this dimension, other dimensions and other timelines simultaneously. Many of them are not configured for combat purposes and are not, as the kids like to say, badasses in any meaningful capacity. Some of her bodies most assuredly are. Those bodies made for mortal-scale battle are sometimes as relatively powerful as the mightiest of mortals in the world, but never moreso in any substantive manners.

Mental Summary

For those who are capable empaths, Uruare is an anomaly of emotional catastrophe pretty much at all times, and would feel like a constant burn of extremes, which should raise more than a few questions as to how she functions at all in the inquiring mind. Psychic and magically-facilitated mindreaders do not seem to meet with a paranoid degree of resistance in probing at her thoughts (usually), though such beings would immediately find that there is no distinction or 'layer' between her 'conscious' and 'subconscious' mind; no separation of thought and emotion, instinct or sophisticated, 'coherent' thought and no meaningful degree of separation between the two.

Her mind's an alien landscape to many, and could only adequately be described as apparently functional, though bewilderingly extreme, chaos. Dive into her head at your own risk accordingly. She isn't immune to psychic intrusion and usually doesn't give a crap enough to fight people that want into her head, though she might not let them out again.

Do you really want your character stuck in there with her? Do you really want to do that? You're out of your element, Donny.

Auras and So Forth

Uruare emits no grandiose aura of any particular sort most of the time; she'd be quite ashamed of herself for leaking like that, if asked; but doesn't have tangible eyes in any form she takes. They're always white, fire-like energy streaming out of eyesockets (if her form is of a phenotype that would normally have eyes) that defies definition. It seems, under all forms of inspection, to be what you want to think it is, even if that makes absolutely no sense what so ever.

Looking overlong into the voidwhite 'fire' of her eyes tends very strongly to make people see themselves reflected in it; who they are, what they really care about deep down. Sometimes it reveals to the subject things they didn't want to know about themselves, or shows them things about themselves they didn't want to see in the fashion it is shown.

Uru claims no knowledge of this, never explains it and is sometimes known to pull various temporary material objects out of her 'eyes' that dissipate into sparkling white energy after a few minutes to a few hours.

When she's using her abilities, she emits quite a powerful 'aura' of intense, chaotically streaming emotion. Empaths could easily find it 'blinding' at close proximities, and psychics could find it annoying and distracting if they don't block it out (which wouldn't be that hard to do for anyone talented in even basic mind shielding techniques).

What's the point of this character?

She pretends to be a bored immortal just out entertaining herself, but the truth is that she fosters creativity through vectors of both unity and division amongst mortals. Love and hate, peace and war, sound and silence; it's all part of what she calls 'The Music', and she's here to stir the existential pot to keep everything flowing, changing and either growing or making way for that which will.

She's not here to be 'the main character' or run other peoples' stories over. If anything, she's here to make sure stories happen wherever they may, and if they're happening without her, that's great! A properly turning wheel doesn't need to be messed with.

It's the potential unrealized that goes to waste without interventions like her own that she's here to minimize, and sometimes that makes her seem transcendentally benevolent. In fact, she's beyond oversimplified categorizations of intention as well, though in the broadest of senses she is indeed extremely benevolent because she is a servant of the Source.

And in that capacity, she's here to maximize the realization of possibilities wherever they may be, and prune that which is keeping too much else from growing/changing/evolving.

In what could be called the mortal frame of view, this finds her playing countless roles and wearing all kinds of hats eventually. Benevolence, malevolence, seeming indifference, instigating catastrophe, preventing an apocalypse, taking the time to chat with someone that really needed someone to talk to just then - it's all in her wheelhouse.

She follows all kinds of self-imposed rules about how best to interact with various strata of reality, and her ego is beyond the reach of virtually anyone or anything to actually dent or offend, though she may pretend to whatever egotism and offense suits the role she's playing.

The 'cosmic hobo' is actually more of a cosmic gardener, but she probably won't ever tell you that even if you ask because that's rarely useful to her purposes.

Theme Music

I enjoy quite a plethora of music that all fit well with the feel of Uruare. Here there be YouTube links to some of the ones I feel are particularly evocative. It's a bigass list to have fun with, most of which I've cobbled together myself, though at the bottom are youtube links to songs other folks have thrown my way in props to my gal.
