Background

Vinique was born Vivian Swan in St. Martial. Her father was a Doctor, her mother a nurse. They were both very caring people, and had raised Vivian to be the same way. Vivian had grown up to be a very pleasant girl, her classmates and teachers had loved her. She had remained very innocent, even with all the crime and gang affiliation in the fast paced city. It wasn't untill Vivian was eight that her mutation had begun to manifest itself within her small body. Neither of Vivian's parents had any type of mutation, so this had come as a shock. The young girl was also much younger than most children who developed a mutation.

At only eight Vivian was already begining to manifest her psychic mutation. It had begun slow at first, weak telekinesis, mind reading, and a very brief foresight. After only six months the mutation began to grow at an extreme rate and Vivian's telekinesis was soon becoming a problem, as things would be instantly become propeled at the slightest thought. Her parents decided it would be best to take Vivian to a mutation clinic, to see if there was any help or advice they could give to the stressing parents.

Under analysis, they were able to conclude that Vivian's mutation was growing at a more rapid rate than most psychics, most likily due to the girl's younger age. They had advised that the parents send their daughter to a military-like school for younger children with growing mutations, stating that if left untoutched, Vivian's rapid psychic mutation would eventually overwhelm her and make her a danger to herself and those around her. The worried parents had always been against such schools, believing they put the children through things that would traumatize them for life, so they respectfully declined the school's invitation.

The two parents had been very smart, both respected doctors within St. Martial. With that in mind, they had decided to help coach their daughter with her mutation, themselves. Everyday the family had practiced. A quick warm up in the morning, usually involving levitating heavy objects, reading what one parents was thinking, or using her forsight to guess the exact temperature it would be at 7:30 that night, or something similar. They would have similar sessions later in the evening. Vivian was progressing well, and at just ten years old she was using her abilities as if they were second nature. They continued the training, despite the ease at which it seemed now.

It was during one session when everythng had gone wrong. Vivian's mother had been stressed from work, a possibility that she may be laid off, when she violently yelled at Vivian after the levitating car was carlessly dropped. The furious scorn had made something inside Vivian snap, and she callously yelled back at her mother. While doing so Vivian had, unsuspectingly, ripped her mothers mind to shreads. The mother stood there a moment longer, blood dripping from her eyes and nose, and eventually crashed to the floor. Vivian stood gaping at her mother's dead body for a good half hour before her father came through the back door. Not noticing his dead wife on the floor he put his arms casually on his daughter's shoulders. "How's the training go-" before he could utter another word Vivian spun around in suprise, a focused telepathic pulse jerking the man's head to one side as though he had been slapped accross the face by the Hulk. The loud crack would forever be burned into the young ten year old's memory.

As Vivian stood between her two dead parents, the sound of sirens could be heard coming in her direction. The stress began to eat away at her so extremely that it began to conflict with her psychic. Eventually her vision began to blur, and within seconds, she had lost her sight. For a moment there was nothing, silence, and then the girl was tackled to the floor.

The Orphanage

Vivian Swan, being only ten years old, and with an unstable mutation, was not held in any way responsible for her parents death, legally, anyway. The guilt hung over her like a dark cloud, sucking any happiness out of her that she may have had left. The blindness was nothing now, what would she need her sight for? To see her parents warm smile?

Soon after the murder she was court ordered to an orphanage for "Dangerous Youngsters", a place teens with dangerous mutations to live before they turn 18, located in Port Oaks. The owner of the orphanage, a Miss Edna Startleton, was an old widow, a mutant, with the strange ability to temporarily cancle out any mutant's abilities. This ability alone was what made her decide to open the orphanage, as it would be easy to settle any dispute between the children if things became to heated.

Vivian's first few months at the orphanage were quiet, her depression was not lifting and she did not get along well with the other children. She was also one of the youngest children there, the youngest beside her was a 14 year old boy, and her at only ten. Cooped up in her room, she would stare into the blank nothingness, often having random visions from the future. They were pointless, but they kept her boredom at bay. Eventually Vivian discovered a way to combat her blindness, her foresight. The young girl figured that if she looked just miliseconds into her own future, it would be the same as though she had her sight, although she would always be about one milisecond ahead.

Having finally found a replacement for her sight, Vivian's depression lifted enough to get her to venture out of her room and communicate with the other children. Still a very disturbed child since the murder, she found herself continuously in fights with the other children, being punished constantly. This continued for about three years, when she turned 13. This is when she began a lesser mutation, not nearly as dramatic as her first. She was becoming a mild shapeshifter. At first she would only shift into a simple black cat, as it was easy and did not take up to much effort. Later able to drastically change into another human being.

The most dramatic use of her shapeshifting was the ability to shift her fingers into long sharp dagger-like claws. As weapons were not prohibited on the orphanage grounds, she had a huge advantage over the other children, and was often the one calling the shots. One day she had been planning to throw a party in one of the less visited rooms, so Edna and her staff would not catch them, and was going to bring alcohol. One of the children, a 17 year old boy, had planned to snitch to Edna about the party., having a grudge against Vivian for some prior offence. Vivian, having forseen the event before it had happened, met up with the boy and completely eviscerated him before he had the chance. She lay the boy in his bed with a note on his torn up carcas: "Let this be a warning to the lot of you, do not try to betray me.". This, of course, was impossible to hide from Edna, and Vivian was expelled from the orphanage.

Arachnos

Vivian had once again found herself living alone on the streets. So in an attempt to get herself off the streets and earn some money and experience, Vivian joined Arachnos under the identity of of a 26 year old woman named Allison Green. She had signed up under the blood widow division, learning to use the widow claws, which resembled Vivian's own shapeshifted finger-daggers.

Vivian had quickly made her way to the Night Widow rank, and was assigned missions and jobs left and right within arachnos. This had continued for many years, earning herself many relationships with very important people, all the while keeping her true identity secret. Months after Vivian turned 18 she decided to live her life as her true self, leaving Arachnos and Allison Green behind, only shifting to her Night Widow form to get within Archnos areas.
