Angie Bardoux, also known as Violet Starlight, flew low towards her home. An apartment in King's Row for hero-types. It was well defended and will soon be hers. The lease runs out soon, and she will no longer be just a visitor in the apartment...Unless Harley takes it back before than.

Harley. That name mildly rips through her. Embarrassment, shame, and sadness encapsulates how she views the small alien woman, the first friend she made. And, for a time, her best friend, until they both mistakenly grew closer. A closeness that was cut off abruptly shortly after it began. And while it was the right thing to do, it still hurt Angie some to think of.

And so deep in thought over her own feelings she has not yet gotten over, she misses a flash of fire beside her as a fiery being passes through an open dimensional gate. But that being quickly makes itself known.

A flash of heat engulfs her, and she finds herself down on the ground. Two hands hit against her armor, and the heat begins to melt it and she cries out in pain. She's able to twist around, the next blow missing her, and she quickly is back up in the air, facing that which assaulted her.

"Copy, you do not belong here. You shall be my fuel," says a being on fire. But through the flames she can see wings, curled beneath her, and a tail. The flesh is red? Or is it just through the flame that her skin appears red. And, no surprise given how much heat this woman (And that is putting it politely) gives off, she is completely nude, though the flame and steam obscures quite well.

The fiery-woman rushes at her and Angie tries to increase the gravity around her, at the same time summoning the dimensional radiation that swims through her. And the radiation channels properly, blossoming inside this fire-woman, causing her to quickly double over for a second. And as the gravity increases more, she smiles at Angie. "Oh, this old trick," she asks with a haughtiness to her voice, and suddenly a portal of dark fire appears under her, and the increased gravity causes her to fall through the portal quickly. And before Angie can react, she feels flame behind her, as the portal reopened right next to her, and she feels the familiar light blows, and extremely high heat assaulting her.

Angie again falls to the ground, crying out in pain as the melting armor also burns her skin. She keeps channeling the radiation at the woman, but it seems to have not enough of an effect. "Little copy, your soul will be used to let me achieve a greatness you could never comprehend." And with those words, the fire being seems to burn straight through Angie's armor, almost like a superheated blade was taken to her, and the pain becomes intense.

As Angie feels herself blacking out, succumbing to the final defeat, she moves her hand all of one inch, hitting something on her belt. And she disappears, the reclaimator activating and pulling her away from the fight. She falls unconscious in Crown Memorial Hospital, as doctors suddenly gather around her to bring her back.

Several hours later she awakens in the hospital, bandages around her midsection where her armor melted. The only thing that saved her was the advanced technology of modern day hospitals. She takes a deep breath and stares at the ceiling, feeling the pain of her first real defeat, and the confusion of what it was all about.
