Winsome Blue/Release

A long night. A really long night.

Blue had left the D when the sounds and atmosphere had begun to weigh on her as if caught in an hourglass with sand tumbling against her as she struggled to breath and not be swallowed under. There was only so much staring out the large window she could do. People she knew passed by and she'd turn to each with a smile or a laugh and make conversation but they didn't stay long, seeming to sense the difference in her. When she fled she hovered in the air above Sharkshead, eyes taking in the area around her as she turned in a circle. Where to go? What to do? How to let this out?

Nerva. Her escape and haven.

It took more than a few minutes but she made her way to the northern end of Nerva Archipelago. The trees and cliffs surrounded by what felt like endless water made her gasp. Its comfort almost immediate. The small inlet she chose to set her feet down in was private. No one around. Without a thought she rid herself of her clothing. The wounds she'd received recently had almost healed, luckily none had ever left scars. Once naked the breeze touched lightly, dancing over her flesh and goosebumps rose. Standing there she wrapped her arms around herself as if to combat it, though its chill brought only its offer of comfort.

A whimperish growl escaped and then a sob as she fell to her knees on the sand.

It'd been a long night and for her it went longer.

Kneeling there she let out everything. Growls and whimpers as she shouted to the water before her what she felt.

Iggy.

Zarp.

Her purpose.

Cel.

Never before had she wanted her Felix form returned so much. The hunt, the release it could bring, as she'd give into her barest of instincts.

Eyes took on that blueish hue at the edges as she snarled at the reflection she could see in the water by the moonlight.

“I felt something damn it! I felt something and it was taken! Before I had a chance ta even figure it out... and now I got somethin' that's right.. that fits and ya throw this back at me? He can't remember anythin' about me.. about us.. about the talks or..” Her eyes close. “He can't remember touchin' me!”

The words echo, rippling the water with the force of her mental abilities behind them.

Trembling she shook her head. “He's dead all over again. A hope for a moment that there'd be somethin'.. a friendship if he came back.. a knowin' what we'd shared. But there's nothin'! DAMN YOU, NOTHIN'!”

She sat back, arms still around her chest. Claws formed and dug deep into her skin, small rivulets of blood following the curves of her naked body only to drip onto the individual grains of sand. A cloud crossed over the moon and settled, blocking out most of the light. Suddenly she felt very alone. Standing quickly she looked around into the darkness.

“Leave me the hell alone.”

Nothing answered. Only shadows that moved and danced in the swaying of the trees. In the distance she could hear people and creatures but right here and now she faced something.

She lifted her head, taking an offensive position. Claws pulled out of her and she didn't even wince, their stripes unnoticed in the dark.

Fear.

It hit her hard and she stepped back, going on defensive.

All around her she felt closed in. Her voice was quiet and pleading. “Not here.. “ This place was solitude and it had been invaded.

It whispered in the wind. “A moment... a flicker.. a speck in time to all of them.”

She turned quickly. Had it been a voice? Eyes searched the dark.

“You can feel it. No matter how willin' ya are it's scarin' the hell outta you.”

A growl erupted from her throat. Her skin prickled and the sound of the waves licking at the shore had never sounded so loud.

“It always comes down ta this. Ta rememberin' and your place. Only fittin' you were forgotten. Only right you'll BE forgotten. In the end... all of 'em will forget ya and ya know it.”

Stumbling back her feet stepped into the waves. The chill caused her to gasp or it could have been the feelings of helplessness, anger and sorrow that overwhelmed her at the words she wasn't even sure she'd heard.

A laugh filled the air and she turned in circles, looking hard into the dark. The cloud on the moon shifted and its light filled the small inlet.

Nothing there but Blue.

She was alone.

Run. That was her first instinct. To run as she had so many times. Run now when she hadn't run from Zarp before. She couldn't run from him, or rather.. she couldn't run from herself with him. But out here.. with nothing around but what she couldn't see.. NOW she ran.

Lifting into the air, leaving her clothes and bandana behind, she flew north over the water. Flying. Running. And eventually it was just water. Water and her. The moonlight bounced and sparkled. It brought a smile to her face for some reason.

Sanity was here. Life.

Diving straight down she felt herself hit the water full force. It stung but it was like the sweeping away of dust and when she eventually surfaced, rising into the air, the tears were new. Laying on a bed of air she watched the stars. A momentary release but a release nonetheless.
