Wipeout/Killer Wave

Abram Maddox, a rival surfer who Calvin beat out at a competition in 2006. In need of the prize money to pay for his ailing mother's medical bills, Maddox was despondent when he lost and enraged when his mother eventually passed away. His obsession and burgeoning hatred for Cal increased tenfold when he went public as the superhero known as Wipeout. He disguised himself as a super-villain and challenged Calvin but was easily defeated. Abram avoided imprisonment by jumping off a cliff into contaminated waters. Awakening on shore later, Abram found he'd been mutated into a monster, though he now possessed superhuman strength along with razor-sharp teeth and claws. He became Killer Wave and has been Wipeout's arch-nemesis ever since.
