Character
Enter the mind of something that should not be
They always say... 'Sanity, is for the weak' Zekiah reflects this, she's undeniably disturbed. Though, one should realize, insanity does not mean stupid. Within those cold dark eyes lies a brilliant mind, it may regard you as little more than meat to wrangle money or information out of before being dismembered, but its a mind none the less. Sadistic and cruel, this woman enjoys spreading discord through any hapless victim she finds, using her innate knowledge of hiding and her biting comments to demoralize an enemy before, and after, she's killed the target's ally.
Socially, Zekiah isn't easy to get along with, she's much more likely to insult and ignore orders (or rather, give them) than be a productive member of a teaming. Quite often she'll run off on her own with a soft cackle, aiming to take down the target before anyone else can. When she wants to be around people, she can act quite normal... but these times are few and far between and its more likely to encounter the snarling, insulting version than one that talks in a nice tone of voice.
Zekiah isn't a big fan of 'friends' rather enjoying having someone under her authority. There have been a few people in the past she's grown odd, confusing feelings for... but those have been remedied by a quick chop of a blade. Really, she seeks someone like herself, someone that knows her lust for violence and blood and respects it, as well as indulges in it. She seeks intelligence as well, someone on par with her own level.
Multiple shades of gray
Of course, above is only when Zekiah is in control of herself. Really, Zekiah's addled brain contains many small fragmented personalities, each vying for a larger say in what Zekiah does. The louder the personality, the more say it usually has. For instance, Zekiah once skinned a snake alive on Mercy just because her sadistic side took over and said it would be fun. The personalities and how to spot them can be seen on the list.
- Normal Not a personality fragment, this is how Zekiah normally thinks before any influence from the others. Though this isn't to say Zekiah isn't evil, oh no... that's just betting on a cat when its a horse race.
- Sadism A large player in Zekiah's head, Sadism is the driving force behind her creative ways of killing and indeed most of her amusement when she slaughters something, has a deep connection with Wrath.
- Wrath All the anger of being someone's genetic experiment condensed into a vile little shard of a person's mind. Pure hatred and loathing for everything, Wrath has at the same time a large and a small part in Zekiah. While Wrath comes out to its fullest when Zekiah is being hurt, usually it is suppressed (While it may burst out some times)
- Greed The single largest voice that drives Zekiah to do things, Greed has gained power by leaching off the other fragments, basically killing a few in the process. Where there's something that glitters, Greed wants it.
- Gluttony A very minor player, Zekiah eats surprisingly little... And she's not exactly picky at all seeing she cant get sick.
- Envy Nothing worth mentioning, Zekiah accepts her place in life... someone's gotta fill the niche of being a homicidal katana wielding merc right?
- Lust Again, no one's perked Zekiah's base humanity, so this one is dormant. The dormancy of this shard makes Zekiah quite ignorant of anything that'd come close to normal companionship, effectively rendering her asexual in nature.
- Comedy/Randomness An interesting one, Zekiah's sense of humor strives from this independent fragment, usually prompting her to say confusing, but hilarious to it, sayings or things. Its possible that this fragment is an embodiment of Zekiah's very mild psionic abilities and is able to tap into alternate dimensions... (But ultimately, it's just theory.) Responsible for making Zekiah yell 'Decepticons! Retreat!' when various robotic masterminds send their troops flying through the roof or performing what it perceives to be awesome movements like shooting a soldier in the head while doing a three hundred degree twist in the air, decapitating another soldier in the process.
- Pride/Self worth A shadowy fragment that only pops up very randomly, preferring to stick close to normal Zekiah as much as it can without saying anything. Only when matters of dire importance come along does this fragment appear from the shadows to stop the other parties from carrying through. What could loosely described as the remains of Zekiah's conscience, Pride is quite adamant about not hurting innocent people.
Background
Born, surprisingly enough, human. Zekiah was abducted at the age of 5 from her own front yard, disappearing without so much as a trace. Inducted into a madman's plans, many a night a young Zekiah screamed as she was treated again to painful gene transformation processes. The process left the young girl to develop enhanced muscles, bones comparable to steel and flesh that would heal faster... Things perfect for an organic super weapon. Receiving inhumane treatment along with other children as training, Zekiah's young mind became warped and twisted, being praised for excellent times in training made her strive towards being cruel and sadistic.
At the age of 18 Zekiah was one of three final candidates for en mass speed cloning to become a super weapon. The final test was in a simulation of Atlas Park, the goal was to be the last subject standing. While the other two walked along the simulated streets, looking for each other, Zekiah did something that the other two didn't think of. She used the terrain as a weapon itself, hiding, jumping, sprinting around the city. The first candidate died with a look of surprise on his face as he was shot in the back, then finished execution style, not even realizing the best weapon he could have used were the streets themselves. The second was only mildly more challenging, being lured into a trap and finished.
Proud of his creation, the creator congratulated the girl in person, an error he'd die regretting. Looking upon her creator, there was no love, no fondness the man thought was there, there couldn't be... there would never be a person like that to this creature. As she advanced on him he fumbled, forgetting where he had placed his failsafe remote, a fact that wouldn't have helped his position at all for the girl had ripped the bomb in her head out months ago. Escaping into fresh air for the first time ever, the girl wandered the streets until she found something that called to her, an old antiques store. The elderly owner closing his shop up never saw what hit him, his lifeblood pooling out as the girl stole an old sword and a set of armor.
A killing spree of two hundred and twenty three innocent people over four years, the demon child was apprehended, thrown into the zig to rot. Languishing in that hell hole for four years of her life, salvation showed its distorted head one night. Seems Arachnos' widows had been glimpsing the future, and a number of super powered people, including herself, had been seen as 'destined ones'. Blinking sleepless eyes as her door opened to a full blown riot, Zekiah's first kill of the night was a guard that tried to stop her, her ability to shrug off wounds having developed massively since she had been incarcerated, she took four bullets to the chest before breaking the man's nose and finally finishing him with his own gun. Picking out the bullets Zekiah wandered to the contraband storage, taking out rioters, guards and ending the careers of a few destined ones early.
Clad in her suit again, clutching her rusted sword Zekiah disappeared into the night, picked up by one of the many Arachnos fliers and dropped off at Mercy Island the next day. After a brief introduction to a few key Arachnos, Zekiah dashed off into the city with a whoop of glee. Free reign as long as you could survive? A whole crumbling, downtrodden city to stalk through? Did she die somewhere and go to her heaven? Meeting the island's populace with a disturbed smile and a gore stained blade, Zekiah's threat level quickly rose a few points within her first hour in the rogue isles. Coming back, sated for the moment she slept, the first time she'd done it in years... feeling at home.
The rest, is a rather gore smeared history.
Abilities and weapons
Having been conditioned and trained to ignore pain (As well has having a body that is unnatural), Zekiah can absorb massive amounts of damage in small time increments without any negative side effects. Bleeding stops quickly for the genetically modified woman and she's been known to pull out bullets for fear effect with her bare hands, not even a scar left when the wound is healed by the next day. This isn't to say she's invincible or indestructible, quite the contrary, she is still part human and some attacks from powerful opponents have left her wounded for weeks.
Mana, magical energy radiated from magical objects or beings is a horrible little side effect from the fusion. Destabilizing the genetically modified cells in Zekiah's body, the woman starts to break down and literally decompose if the energy source is enough. Most of the time the person's magical field is only enough to cause headaches and minor nose/ear bleeds. But major magical items (Rob excluded for some reason) have been known to cause extreme pain and decomposition... while she remains alive thanks to demonic infusion. Theoretically Zekiah cannot die unless exposed to enough mana to cause all the bonds with the demonic cells to be broken. Space... and even being on the surface of the sun have been proved (Via teleportation experimentation) to only cause pain on a level never experienced... but not death, the demonic regeneration of her cells proving too fast.
Her weapons are another thing all together, while she favors swords Zekiah has been known to scrounge up other items of interest for herself. Her small apartment in Nerva Archipelago is filled with small to medium arms, grenades of different functions and even a magical item or two. Her prized and mainly used weapons are her original rusted sword which she stole with her armor, The 'Spider's leg' magical sword which she procured after a short adventure and a Rikti katana she forced from a unwitting invader during an invasion attempt. Thinking that she's classified as a stalker, and therefore unable to attack at range is a foolish and downright stupid depending on her mood.
Her most used outfit is a set of prototype 'Spider Stalker' armor that was given to her after the adventure in which she procured the 'Spider's leg' presented to her by Lord Recluse himself, the suit is unofficial and prototypical in make but has the ability to pump adrenalin and stimulants directly into Zekiah's bloodstream, enabling her to focus for more powerful attacks and provide relief from wounds sustained in battle. It also has a small frequency modulator incorporated into it, allowing short teleportation jumps giving a hidden Zekiah the ability to around quickly without being seen or having to deal with terrain. Many a time has this suit's boosts to her fighting style given her the upper edge, or the ability to dash away and heal when the fighting gets tough.
Notable equipment:
- Rusty Katana.
- Spider's leg.
- Ro'balugarath
- Talsorian Katana
- .44 Mach Compensator pistol with 4x optical sight, Laser pointer and bipod (Why a bipod? Zek thinks it looks awesome) Ammo is .44 hollow point.
- SVD 'Dragonov sniper rifle' 7.62mm semi auto with traditional wood furnishings, modified with 4/22x tech optical sight with standard on hinge in case of malfunction and increased rifling in the barrel for enhanced range/accuracy. Ammo is 7.62mm tungsten core rounds.
Role in the Weapons Union
Zekiah doesn't do much more than act as a hired assassin most of the time, she's not that big on parties or anything... but has been known to open up when invited to certain events. She's not that well known... yet. But she has a few claims to fame she's eager to point out (Like being the first threat level 50 stalker archetype in the group) and who knows? Maybe some human interaction might be good for her. She gets paid to kill things after all... so its not like she's gonna up and leave anytime soon.
Followers
Rodney
Rodney is simply put... A Rikti monkey. Its unknown why Rodney just latched onto Zekiah while she was wandering around the warzone, or just how he slipped past all the defenses to follow her back through the teleporter. Theory is, Zekiah has very very mild psionic ability that Rodney was somehow attuned to, making him totally subservient to her. Rodney is, well... not exactly the pet Zekiah would love to have, it seems bonding to her has striped him of his mental abilities and he's less than happy to run into a fight. In fact, usually Rodney will run away from combat, appearing after Zekiah has slaughtered her enemies. Though, this means the two don't get into many fights, Rodney doesn't get in the way or steal any kills and Zekiah doesn't have to worry about accidentally hitting the monkey while she's in the heat of battle.
Ro'Balogarath, The destroyer, The killer of worlds, The slaughterer of fluffy little puppies, etc
Ro'Balogarath (Or as Zekiah likes to call him, Rob) is a sword Zekiah picked up in the Shadow Shard while on call from Arachnos portal technician Naylor. While the sword has a big mouth and claims to have many many many long and boring titles, Zekiah finds it amusing to no end to just call the sword Rob and ignore his angry cries. He has somewhat of a love/hate relationship with his 'captor', suffice to say... it's mostly hate. Feeling like he's been kidnapped by a lesser being Rob voices his opinions on many things until Zekiah starts hacking through rock or metal with him to quieten him down. Zekiah on the other hand quite enjoys the sword's 'suffering' at her hands, she's never had a sharper blade to slice through enemies and she enjoys taunting the sword on many of the subjects he complains about.
Cynthia
Having thoroughly pissed off Ghost Widow (By having nearly brought her back to life only to 'kill' her), Cynthia was placed in Zekiah's care. A curse more than a blessing, Cynthia is a well trained, highly mobile... klutz. A Night Widow with less than stellar grades, Cynthia is shy, unobtrusive and of all things... a pacifist. She idolizes Zekiah, and some suspect that she even has feelings for the rather asexual killer. Not that she'd admit to anything. Usually she's called upon when Zekiah needs a distraction, the Widow trying to do her best before Zekiah has to step in and help her before she's sent to the medbay... again.
Alternate Versions
Zekiah (Or some person like her) seems to be fairly constant in alternate dimensions, in fact, she's met herself a few times, sometimes much to her anger.
Upsilon Beta 9-6
Praetorian Zekiah is known as Shining Shade, a hero of all things, Praetorian Zekiah has been quite successful in keeping herself alive, relying on the same skills normal Zekiah does to slaughter people, to save people.
Lamda Rho 57-20
Bound with a warshade, this dimension's Zekiah is neither good, nor really evil. Striving to survive on a planet over run by Nictus, Zekiah does much to keep herself and her friends alive.
Rikti home dimension
Zek'iah An'aso is a high ranking general in the Rikti traditionalist army. While both normal Zekiah and Rikti Zek'iah don't see eye to eye on most things (The fact that Zekiah despises Rikti and Zek'iah despises humans being one of them), both agree that the war is pointless and much more could be done to lay waste to other more insidious threats if the two worlds joined forces.
Unnamed gender swap dimension
Zak is a jerk... no... really. That's about it, other than the fact he's... well, a he rather than a she. He's still a member of Weapons Union, partnered with Ruby the Rikti monkey, Ro'bingarath the shadow-shard sword (Robin) and Cinder the Night Widower.
Stories
((To come when i have the time to write them!))
Relaxing
Zekiah holds a small three room apartment in Nerva Archipelago... Its just to her liking as well, room for her weapons and armor and a comfortable bed to sleep when she needs to. Of course it also contains her answering machine and the odd souvenirs she's collected over her time in the rogue islands.
Costumes
Like every respectable villain in the isles, Zeki has a costume or two up her sleeve, for when the going gets tough or a change of style is needed. These are just but a few of the many she has in her wardrobe.
Samurai Armour
The very same suit stolen from an antiques shops those many years ago. Still in perfect working condition, a few patches and reinforcing here and there this outfit is still sometimes used when Zekiah feels nostalgic.
Spider Stalker Armour
Given to her as a gift by Lord Recluse, this high tech piece of equipment holds many little secrets. Notable are the stimulant injectors that spray skin soluble compounds directly onto key areas for maximum effect, increasing agility and defense. Also included is a small teleportation device, allowing quick travel.
Spider Stalker MK II
Upgraded with 'acquired' vanguard armour options, the Spider Stalker MK II is less of the original as a vanguard updated copy. And and all defense is maximized, allowing Zekiah to take rounds from anti armour cannons and not even flinch. Also incorporated is a anti-magic field, allowing exposure to mana without Zekiah experiencing its decomposing effects.
Rikti Hunter
It's hard work hunting extra-dimensional aliens, and this outfit was made for such a thing. Light and flexible, this suit is reinforced with pieces of stolen (and modified for human use) armor, allowing exactly the same defense her prey has. Wielding a stolen Rikti katana for maximum effect, this suit might not look much, but looks can be deceiving.
Formal attire
Even a homicidal maniac needs to look halfway presentable some times, and that's just what this outfit is about. If there's an important meeting or something, you can bet that Zekiah will be found in this stylish dress/suit combo.
Hero outfit
It'll never work, people will recognize her even with those goggles and the dual swords. Or will they?
Widow suit
'Procured' from a widow operative after a short battle, this sleek black and red outfit is rather uncomfortably skintight and revealing. Two things Zekiah does not like in her clothes. Despite this, the inbuilt weapons still work, though the poison reserves have been removed and been replaced with acid canisters.
Day clothes
Adopted from watching a TV show, Zekiah's 'day uniform' consists of a blue suit and a brown coat. Added to this is her 'Plasma screwdriver' (More commonly known as a Rikti plasma sword.) and a flashlight.
Hobble goblin
A dress up for Halloween '09. Zeki's orange and blue outfit comes with the perfect weapon, a pumpkin sword, as well as a jetpack and maniacal laughing.
Yinny's outfit
A gift from fellow Weapons Unioner Yin-Jian, this outfit looks horribly familiar. Red leather combat outfit with black stripes. Unfortunately the mask didn't fit right and was messing up her hair, a small price to pay for looking (In Zekiah's view at least) awesome.
Answering Machine
((Put down your character's little messages to Zekiah here, just dont be phased if you're asked 'how'd you get this number?'))
"....Oh Vas zat ze Beep I vas zuppozed to zpeak avter? ZNAP! Okay... Ummm Guten Tag, Zek! VAT IZ UP?! Ha... Yeah I zink itz awezome you've put zis office ov yourz above mine... Quotes
"I'd even go so far as say that, yes, indeed... I love my lungs."
"I really... Really wish I could respec into a banjo wielding assassin, but... Someone on the grassy knoll would probably shoot it."
Trivia
- Zekiah is afraid of dogs
- While she can be quite cruel and geared towards being alone, there are the odd times she'll visit Pocket D and search out company... perhaps she's more human than most think? (If you see her, say hi!)
- Needs about two hours of sleep to one hundred and sixty-six hours of being awake. Critical wounds (Like being cleaved in two) need sleep (Up to months at a time) to regenerate.
- Surprisingly, respects Arachnos high ups (Lieutenants, Arbiters, Lord Recluse... Okay, Recluse mainly because he has 'an awesome backpack of spider legs, where do I get one of those?' and the Lieutenants because most of them by now harbor a grudge to the point of wanting to kill her.)
- Has been told to 'shut the hell up' about several thousand times so far. Does no one understand the need for communication these days? ...Or the fact she just wont?
- Zekiah's inspiration's kinda obvious by now (Deadpool, coughhackcoughcough.) BUT did you know she was also inspired for her regeneration (Yes, she originally wasn't thought of with regeneration in mind, more scientific gene therapy all round resilience) by not Deadpool, but Jennifer Walters? (Aka, She Hulk) The resilience was pushed to the side and the regeneration kept after a few RP tries with Zekiah causing herself harm without noticing it until a character pointed out she had some kind of wound. It became somewhat of a focal point that she would respond irately to seemingly lethal wounds with a complaint.
