What is a Thrall?
Character Details
+Appearance+
Physical Body
The base of Zibeon’s skin is a dark shade of gray. He has a skull shaped patch of Bone/Tan skin on his face and his eye lids and lips are a bruising purple. Oddly his skin is perfectly smooth, showing no scarring despite the many battles and torment he has endured giving him an almost youthful appearance.
The thrall stands about 6’ even. (Though in the game CoV he is slightly shorter from a re-creation mishap.) He is rather thin and sinewy, having very little body fat and well worked muscles however not actually looking bony nor brawny. The muscle he has is pulled taut against his bones making him more smooth looking rather then muscular, giving his body more power to absorb impacts rather then repelling them. He is built to take hits and bounce back, to make swift snap and withdrawal attacks, instead of being a tank like most brawlers.
His hair is straight and thin, about shoulder length. It’s color is a coal black that seems to shimmer an ash gray. The thrall has two stub horns in front of two larger ram like horns that protrude from his hair. Both pairs of horns are a bone/tan color accented with black lines. His long, pointed ears are often hard to notice, usually hidden behind those large, curling horns and his dark hair.
Zibeon’s eyes are sown tightly shut. His mouth is also sown, however, it is loosely done. He can still open his mouth about half way before they are restricted, the stitches pulling to indent his lips when he talks. His speech is usually low toned and slightly slurred. The stitches adorning his lips are less to keep his mouth shut physically then they are to magically withhold any secrets of his Master’s.
Attire
He usually wears a light armored vest and some sort of loose pants with several hidden pockets. Pant legs are tucked into a pair of large yet light weight boots. Hooked to the belt around his waist are small bags and holders for various things… Barbed wire is oddly wrapped around his neck and parts of his arms seeming harmless to his strange, smooth skin. It isn’t completely clear if these metal objects are magically bound to him or if it’s more a mental binding…

Strengths
Fears & Weakness'
- As a Thrall Zibeon has two great fears. Returning to Hell as a damned soul and the other to cease to exist. Though Zibeon can not remember the details of his torments, for they were suppressed along with the memories of the life before his transformation into a demon, he does recall the physical, mental, and emotional torture that he suffered throughout the time he spent in Hell. Naturally he would not want to return to such a situation. While ceasing to exist would probably not be a great torture as returning to Hell would be for a creature who’s one goal in life is to simply survive death, with no promise of a continuing afterlife, would be rather terrifying in it’s self. When a Thrall vanishes that’s it. There is no soul, spirit, or energy to retrieve. The story ends.
- A Thrall’s one great weakness is their dependency on a Spirit Link to a Master. As time passes with a lack of a Spirit Link the Thrall looses the energy that makes up their physical form and once that energy depletes it’s self the Thrall vanishes from existence. The more the Thrall needs to be active or heal themselves during their time they are without a Link the faster the energy is used up or expelled.
- Zibeon does not heal as rapidly as some Thralls. And after a vigorous day of extended battle and/or activity the Thall becomes drained and in need of some time to recuperate. Often retiring to some secluded dark space that he has deemed safe Zibeon is rather venerable at this time. Not that the Thrall can’t hold his own, simply he is not at his peek performance and thus more easily surprised and damaged.
Likes & Dislikes
- Zibeon has a strong dislike of being touched or touching others. He insists that the only time contact should be made is during battle with the intent to kill, punishment from one’s Master, or to carry an individual when it is necessary. Normally when an ally attempts to make physical contact out of goodwill he‘d simply try to avoid the contact. However, there have been cases when the Thrall would lash out at an ally if they touched him when he didn’t expect them to attempt it. In other words, don’t surprise a jumpy dog.
Quirks
+Abilities and Powers+
Shadow Manipulation
Zibeon’s main powers revolve around the control and excretion of the essence of darkness. This power to manipulate, bend, and create ‘shadows’ stems from his origins as a demonic being. Weather they were gained when ‘transforming’ within the period he was damned to Hell or granted to him by his ‘First Master’ is not completely clear.
- Zibeon usually uses his power to hide his presence by wrapping himself in a shroud of darkness that either excretes from his body or drawn from shadows in the surrounding scene making him nearly impossible to see. When there are extended patches of 'natural' shadows around he can practically absorb himself into them.
- Zibeon can also twist the darkness around him to form silhouettes resembling people or animals. There is no density to these things however and are merely used as a distraction.
Temporal Manipulation
Zibeon’s show of Temporal powers are more subtle then his use of his more obvious power over darkness. Often times his power over time related subjects can and usually are mistaken for his darker powers.
- Teleportation - Zibeon’s use of ‘Teleportation’ is a distortion of time and space. It is less related to scientific means then it is to the mystery of ‘time’ itself. He tends to use this power quite more often then the other Thrall resident within the Hostel and if one could sense such things there is a distinct difference in the frequency of the power he uses to transport himself and the power the female Thrall tends to use. Zibeon can and will use this power to transport others as well.
- That Dreaded Heal Power - Zibeon does have the ability to ‘heal’ so to speak. However it is not exactly mending a body but rather it is ’speeding up’ the process of one’s body’s natural ability to heal. This power is more often mistaken for a ‘dark healing’ for he often uses tendrils of shadow to enter another’s body to ‘touch’ inner parts needing mending. Nearly always terribly painful for the one being attended to for the patient would feel all the pains of healing over time all at once. For minor aches and pains this power is perhaps better left unused however for one near death perhaps a little traumatizing agony is worth your life?
- Seer - There are many theories on time and how people and things leave behind an essence wherever they may have traveled. Zibeon can tap into this essence left upon inanimate objects or even on rare occasion corpses, depending on the length of time it had to ‘settle‘ and become clean of it‘s soul which would distort clear readings. Zibeon merely needs to touch and focus upon a chosen inanimate object from here he can ‘see’ and ‘hear’ what the object has ‘seen’ or ’heard’ throughout it’s existence through what essences it had absorbed over time. These visions are usually broken up and have no sense of consistency, they do not show in order that they happened and multiple events can show that do not connect to each other in any way. Zibeon very rarely uses this power and may show some discomfort when he does so.
Regenerative Abilities
- A Thrall’s regenerative abilities stem directly from the Spirit Link. As long as a Thrall is Linked to a Master the Thrall will heal from the energy it receives from that Master. Even to the point of appearing dead the Thrall may fully recover from it’s condition, though at that point of damage it may take a rather long period of time. For Zibeon the more critical the damage the longer it takes to heal.

Past
- First Master: The one that "freed" Zibeon from his Damned prison in Hell, the one that sown and cursed his eyes and mouth. Zibeon feels no resentment toward the Demon Lord, in fact he is rather grateful. Servitude, to him, is a wonderful change compared to Damnation. Still there was no love for the First Master and the only thing the Thrall may miss was the simplicity in the first Master's complete control over him and the other thralls and continuity in his methods of life. Something the more fickle masters lack.
-
Helios Pride: Pride just happened upon the Thrall one night sitting silent and disgruntled upon an open path, the creature having found little luck in finding a possible Master powerful and willing enough to Spirit Link to. For a moment Zibeon rejected him before finally agreeing to join him and a strange female upon a quest. At first Zibeon believed him to be too weak to start a proper Link to… But the man was swiftly learned and grew in strength, where as Zibeon himself grew weaker from the lack of a Link. Zibeon did not announce when he started to form the link but the man was intelligent and soon noticed the slight change… And was accepting… After all who wouldn’t want a servant that would follow your every whim?
Upon Pride's Earthly body's death and the break of the Spirit Link the thrall almost seemed to mourn the loss. -
Zilvas Darkbloom: Zibeon’s choice in Zilvas as his third Master was not something of a whim nor was it something done out of spite. After Lilith’s crazed attack upon Luciana, killing her, Zibeon felt the she-demon was a threat to those of the Consortium. However, he could not attack her directly for upon Luciana’s dying breath she told Zibeon not to harm her. Bound by his loyalties to The Mistress of the Lair Zibeon sought out another way to do what he believed would protect those of the Consortium.
He made a deal with Zilvas, brother of Luciana, that upon pledging his loyalties to the demon, forming a Spirit Link and serving him, that Zilvas would dispose of Lilith. However this didn’t exactly work out as planned. Luciana came back, her life restored, and Lilith was forgiven. With Luciana and Lilith once again close companions and the threat dispersing Zibeon lost a reason to remove her from the Consortium.
Serving under Zilvas had caused quite a few problems for Zibeon. Damaging some good relationships the Thrall had somewhat formed with members of the Daemon Consortium and brought about solid enemies that would have otherwise been simple dislike. Zibeon had not have to physically harm anyone that he wished to protect within his time serving under Zilvas and thus his services under the man was not wholly unpleasant.
After a mishap within Oroborous Zilvas’ physical body was destroyed. -
Luciana Darkbloom: Lucicana, leader of the Daemon Consortium, was never actually a formal Mistress for the fact Zibeon had never Spirit Linked to the woman. However, being the leader of his former home Zibeon had deemed her “Mistress of The Lair” and followed her orders as if they may have been Linked. Although the Thrall would do harm to the women if his Master commanded it Zibeon actually shows a bit of loyalty to her finding disgust in any words that threaten her in any form.
After the abandonment of The Daemon Consortium Zibeon has not seen the woman.
Organizations
-
Daemon Consortium: Zibeon’s second master, Pride, was the one to find the Thrall and introduce him to the Daemon Consortium, a hostel for wandering demons and other misplaced creatures. The Thrall came accustomed to the inhabitants, even forming some solid companionships with several of it‘s members, and the Hostel became the Thrall’s home. Calling it ’The Lair’ and becoming fiercely protective of it’s inner walls and members the Thrall was much like a guard dog.
Recently the Hostel has been abandoned and it’s entrances sealed. Realizing that no one else will return the Thrall no longer visit’s the Hostel’s useless husk.

Foes
((OOC: A reminder. All enemies are IC only. No OOC grudges are held between me and the players of these characters.))
- Nerzana: Zibeon would not hesitate to kill this individual if given the chance. The feeling is more then likely mutual.
- Sharon: Sharon was one of the group, along with Nerzana, that lured and attacked Zibeon. After the physic woman attacked him and attempted to force her way into his mind Zibeon has held a continuous mistrust of the woman. Sharon and Nerzana are the only two out of the group that Zibeon still has a strong distaste for.

do suggest it and I may add it here! No making something up though. :-P You know who you are...))
"This one... likes hugging that one." Spoken to Fiina, after Zib was coerced into a hug around Christmas 2007. (Totally legit quote!) - (That is like.... SO not true Fiina! *Shakes fist*)
