Origins
Childhood
Albert Anderson had a typical happy childhood, highlighted by his ability to make it snow on days when he really did not want to go to school. As he approached adulthood, Albert was recruited by Statesman to join a fledgling group of heroes in training; and would soon find himself standing among the great heroes of Paragon City.
Rikti Invasion
It was during the original Rikti invasion that Albert Anderson, now called American Legion, made his mark on Paragon. He joined the Vanguard ranks and quickly rose to command a battalion of heroes with the rank of Brigadier General. Fighting alongside his friend and mentor, Statesman, AL experienced some of the most bitter moments of the war. Once the invasion was held off, AL remained a reserve officer in the Vanguard's Paragon City Rapid Response Team.
Civil Service
Following the Rikti War, Albert Anderson devoted himself to improving Paragon City as a member on the city council. He married the heroine Sigrun the Valkyrie and together they have raised a hero son, known as Junior Justice. Representing his home district of Founders Falls, Al has strived to make the safety and security of the citizenry a top priority of the Council. He has also pushed for efforts to improve upon the defenses of the War Walls and cautioned of the possibility of further Rikti or other villainous incursions into our city. These cautions came to fruition with the latest Rikti onslaught against the citizens of Paragon. Luckily American Legion and many of his counterparts have been successful in repelling the Rikti attacks and restricting them to the former crash site of their ship; now classified by the Vanguard as a war zone.
The American Legion
As part of his efforts to give back to the community, American Legion has become leader of a supergroup of heroes known as The American Legion. In this group AL along with his family form a nexus of heroes that strive to end villainy in all forms and drive those who seek to do harm out of Paragon once and for all. AL and his Legion have pledged to dedicate themselves to the establishment, growth, and preservation of peace, liberty, equality and justice under law.
Personality
American Legion has a strong sense of duty and love for country which is evident in every aspect of his persona. Possessing an offbeat sense of humor and a sense of what he feels is right and wrong, he can come off as arrogant at times but is known as someone who will treat others with respect and compassion.
