Childhood

Andrew Emilio Cortez was an only child to Orlando Cortez and Denise Radcliffe Cortez. As a child, Cortez was always a fairly ordinary one. At the age of 3, Andrew learned how to ride a two wheeled bicycle without training wheels. He would ride circles around the older children who still had training wheels. By the time he was 8 years old and in the second grade, He never really excelled in any field and was average in all subjects.

However, Andrew would face his worst nightmare at the age of 15. A mysterious woman in a high tech powersuit came crashing through the living room window while he was going to the fridge for a midnight snack. He looked for his parents but only his father came. His father wielded a baseball bat and was ready to knock someone out. To Andrew's dismay, his father was impaled by a set of extended claws. Suddenly, She disappeared without a trace, leaving Andrew to call for help for his dying father. Soon his mother ran in, crying for someone to help her dying husband. However, Andrew could somehow sense that the tears weren't real.

Personality

Cpt. Cortez is far more of a risk taker than most psychics. He often believes that even if he dies, At least he's doing something productive and benificial. Although he is reckless, He is also somewhat opinionated and intelligent. He will often explain how psionics work to the best of his ability with glee and won't hesitate to use what he knows.

However, He is also aware that his immune system is taking a severe beating after each use. Much the the chagrin of his family doctor, he is absolutely addicted to using his psychic abilities. Even when mystics completely heal him, he will use PSI constantly up to the point where his body cannot take any more. This usually happens in a matter of a few months.

Weaknesses

Cortez has all the weaknesses of any normal human along with these weaknesses

• Psychic feedback - When two psychics attempt to read eachother's minds, things go very bad for both of them. This psychic feedback can be painful and sometimes disabling.

• Overuse of PSI - Cortez can't abuse his PSI abilities as Arachnos Widows can. Sometimes, using telekinesis will damage his respiratory system. Other times, his digestive system will take the hit. Also, overuse of any of his psychic abilities will be fatal in the long run.

Notes

• Cortez knows his father was killed by a villain inside a powered exoskeleton under the name Cyber Maiden. However, He is unaware that Cyber Maiden armor is actually operated by his mother, as he hasn't encountered her since he learned PSI.
