Complete credit goes to @Jenova H Dragon, who original thought up Gambler as part of a storyline concerning her character Stephnie and her larger metaplot, White Chess. After her and I joked at how Gambler reacted to intimidation and threatening situations similarly to how Dream would, she posed the idea that Gambler could possibly be that dimension's version of the man who became Bad Dream. We both liked the idea a lot and agreed upon it.
