Appearance
The Infinity Sphere appears as a crystalline globe containing a field of stars of varying brightness, set in a night sky. If looked at long enough, the observers feels as though he could fall forever into the depths of the crystal (this is just a faint feeling, not enough to disorient).
Power
The Infinity Sphere is a phylactery or holding device for spirits. Each of the "stars" is actually a spirit, and the brighter "stars" are the more powerful spirits. The Sphere merely holds the spirits; other means must be used to entrap the spirit (and in the case of strong spirits, force them into the Sphere)
History
It is suspected that this artifact was created by Black Jack Rackham himself, as there are no references to it from ancient sources.
Jack has existed a long time, and he has collected many souls in that time. He calls upon these spirits to serve him as servants and henchmen. In the Rogue Isles he is in a position to more freely use his necromantic powers (as such abilities are frowned upon in most regions, such as Paragon City).
