Appearance

A small (three-inch diameter) orb with a mottled green-and-black coloration.

Power

The Orb allows it's owner to create a swamp-like patch of black-and-green murk. This "nether-swamp" is a manifestation of dark energy, and weakens those within it, as well as bogging them down in the mystic quagmire.

History

The Orb is an ancient Aztec artifact, used by the followers of Tezcatlipoca. The original purpose of the Orb was probably as a tool of war, used to weaken and trap opposing forces.

It is not known how Black Jack Rackham acquired the Orb, and due to the Orb's rather limited use, it is not a commonly-sought relic. It is one of many examples of specialized magic which Jack has gathered for his purposes.
