Continued from Masonry

Regrets

After he had committed suicide, Masonry’s ghost haunted the Monkey Island Asylum for the Criminally Insane. He was visited by a woman, Twisted Twilight, who claimed that she could restore him to life. He was angry enough that he was ready to do whatever it took to get back at the people he thought had done this to him. Twist used the rocks in the area to recreate him, and kept a piece of the stone, his only weakness.

Masonry attempted to wreak havoc, by kidnapping and torturing his clone’s girlfriend, beating up his clone Idaho, and raping an old “friend”, Grimaulkin, in the Winter Chalet. He broke with Keen Frost, who didn’t agree with him doing these things. Frost, meanwhile, retreated into buying and selling at Wentworth’s, becoming a very rich man.

However, Masonry felt incomplete, and asked Twisted Twilight to share a part of herself. She had avoided doing so, because that would mean the other person would be a slave to her. Finally, she relented, and gave him part of her own darkness, which is centered in his belly.

Masonry realized what he had lost in Frost, and contacted him again. He apologized, and practically begged to return to him. Frost, in the meantime, had decided to accept Masonry for what he was, even though that meant he would turn against his family and other friends. Twisted Twilight saw the love between the two men and released Masonry from his servitude, but he still had the darkness within him.

Bladeless

Frost continued to be a hero secretly, but Masonry languished. He could no longer work the stone to create the armor, and he no longer had the drugs in his system to make him super strong. He decided to take it upon himself to develop the darkness within him, in an attempt to make himself stronger. He took the name of Bladeless, because he did not use a weapon.

To keep himself in training, he chose to utilize the Architect Entertainment facilities. However, while there, a certain man had appeared in every mission, so he thought it was haunted. This man caused disturbing things to happen to Bladeless, making him think about what his purpose truly was. Eventually the man was connected to Grimaulkin, who seems to have made it one of his purposes in life to torture Bladeless for what he did to him.

Bladeless asked Hero Corps to assign him somewhere, and they placed him with the Phalanx of Paragon City. He at first used a different costume, and then when seeing Keen Stronghold – another old-friend-now-enemy and twin brother of Keen Frost – he decided to pull out his old Masonry costume and use that. He has chosen to go public again, with the Phalanx at his back. However, the Phalanx is not what it seems, and the temptation is there to revert back to his dark ways…

Bladeless is self-taught, and has not realized his full potential. He relies entirely on his fists to get the point across and is an accomplished brawler. He’s quick to anger, most of the time lashing out physically without regard for the consequences. The drugs he had before abused his mind, and he’s still slightly dense. He can be easily swayed and influenced by the people around him.
