Asmund Bonnes's ability to teleport was handy, but not quite enough for him to be a superhero, so the young man became a mercenary. With his talent, training, and special ability, he became successful enough to choose only the work that he felt was on the right side of things. He earned a reputation as principled, professional, and powered, and that led to him being on retainer for Portal Corporation.
Bonnes's last mission for Portal Corp. was a disaster, and he could see, but not reach, the portal. He was restrained, his upper arms held tight by a giant mutant that could nullify powers. To his horror, he felt his ability to teleport unable to work within the mutant's grasp... but only *within* the mutant's grasp. So, as the portal was closing, Bonnes teleported as best he could, and he made it through the portal.
Now with cybernetic arms, Bonnes has the power to do things he couldn't before, and he's been busy in Paragon City ever since.
