Bullrope
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
Bullrope was created to be the arch-nemesis and complete opposite of Sixty Watt. Whereas Sixty Watt is a poor, younger kid from Massachusetts; Bullrope is a billionaire, older man from Texas. Sixty Watt puts on a front of being a jackass to hide how much he actually cares, Bullrope puts on a front of caring to hide what an evil jackass he is. Sixty Watt looks good in tights, Bullrope wears Italian suits. You get the idea.

Personality
Bullrope is has a reputation and is portrayed by the media as an off the wall, gutsy, eccentric cowboy. This isn’t very far from the truth. Never one to hold back his thoughts, Bullrope is a loud mouth. He will express his feelings on most topics without hesitation, and he will do it louder than everyone else. Because of his size, this makes him a very intimidating figure. On the flip side, he’s also a very charismatic man. He’s very good at using his smile and his way with words to manipulate people. He’s a charmer.
He is an EXTREMELY smart business man. Although he sometimes makes financial moves that leave the top analysts in the country scratching their heads, he always turns a huge profit in the end. Despite his loud, roughneck style, he’s a very intelligent man.
Bullrope puts forth the image of himself as an everyman. Just a regular “steak eating, football watching, beer sipping” Joe, Bullrope has won much of the public’s support via this image. He frequently makes comments about how he’s the people’s champion, using his wealth to stick to his fellow snobby, elite billionaires. He is known as being extremely patriotic. He is pro-America to a fault, dismissing any of the country’s critics as “hippies” or “cowards.” He detests the French. While on the outside there’s nothing wrong with loving your country, the fact is Bullrope is manipulative about his patriotism. Inside, Bullrope is all about serving his own ends. He puts forward a front as a hard-working, family orientated, pro-America everyman…but in fact he’s greedy, self-serving manipulative jackass who would push his own mother in front of a bus if it made him a buck.
He’s very supportive of Statesman, Longbow, and heroes in general, stating “America would be lost without these brave souls.” However, he has had many shady dealings with the likes of Arachnos and Crey Industries in the past. Of course, this information will never see the light of day.
Powers
Bullrope has no real powers to speak of. He’s a normal human of above average height, weight, and strength. At 6’5” and and two eighty, Bullrope towers over most people. Built like a bull (hence the nickname), he can hold his own in a regular ol’ fist fight.
Abilities
Keen business savy. The man has a natural mind for business and turning a profit. He’s written a book.
Brute strength. As listed above, he’s a giant bull of a man. Against a normal human, he can hold his own very well.
Sharpshooter. Very proficient with firearms. It’s a hobby of his.
Equipment
Bullrope’s company, Maditex Inc, has an extremely advanced technological research department. This has resulted in a few “perks” for Bullrope.
Firearms
Maditex has churned out a number of high powered assault weapons that they plan to sell to the military. Faster, more efficient, and stronger than your average gun, this is like gold for the firearm loving Bullrope.
Shielding
The big, gold, longhorn belt buckle Bullrope almost always sports is not just for show. It’s actually a contained force field, which he is able to activate at any time merely by clicking a hidden button on the belt. The force field is nearly impenetrable.
The Stable
Finally, Bullrope’s biggest asset…what he refers to as his “Stable.” It’s publicly known that Bullrope has an elite “inner circle” of six people. These are people who give Bullrope advice, help him manage his business, or protect him. What’s NOT publicly known is these people AREN’T people at all…they’re robots who can project a hologram making them look like human beings.
Mr. Bare and Mr. Knuckle
Bullrope’s “heavies.” These are two assault bots that are programmed with merely one instruction: protect him. They are armed with plasma cannons and are quick to attack any threat nearby. Their projected human forms that the public sees are that of two nearly identical bald Caucasian men, dressed in black suits and wearing sunglasses. Very secret service-ish.
Mr. Hughes
Another assault bot, this one is programmed with codes upon codes of legal advice. Although it can hold it’s own in a fight, the main purpose of this robot is to help Bullrope pulverize people in a court of law. Quick to find legal loopholes in nearly all of Bullrope’s shady dealings, Mr. Hughes in an invaluable asset to the team. His human projection is a tall, skinny, Caucasian male, dressed in a sharp suit and with a thick pair of black glasses.
Ms. Hancock
Yowza. This is a defense bot, able to shield and buff it’s fellow bots, giving them an edge in a fight. However, the main story behind this bot is it’s smokin’ hot human projection. Ms. Hancock serves at Bullrope’s press secretary of sorts, she puts a positive spin on his sometimes questionable dealings. The press is often more preoccupied with her suit’s plunging neckline, her WAY too high skirt, or her million dollar smile to actually probe deeper into Bullrope’s dealings. If they only knew what she REALLY looked like.
Mr. Spin
A defense bot like Ms. Hancock, both literally and figuratively. Mr. Spin is the behind the scenes, plotting to make Bullrope more accessible to the common man. Mr. Spin is programmed with all the top political, social, and economic strategies from the past decade, and you can bet whatever Bullrope is up to, Mr. Spin is going to find a way to make John Q. Public make it seem “all okay.”
Mr. Curtis
The final and most unique of Bullrope’s Stable. Mr. Curtis is simply put, a robot killing machine. He’s the largest and most deadly robot in Bullrope’s arsenal, capable of leveling a small army. The extremely unique aspect of this robot is that it is not merely a robot. Mr. Curtis was Bullrope’s right-hand man for years, helping him build Maditex from the ground up. Tragically, Mr. Curtis was involved in a helicopter accident years back and was left in a coma. Bullrope was not ready to lose both a friend and trusted business partner, so he arranged to have Mr. Curtis’ brain transplanted into a robot body. Therefor, Mr. Curtis is the only member of Bullrope’s team with an actual, thinking, human brain. Mr. Curtis’ human projection is just like his old real body…a taller, well-built, African-American male.
Weaknesses and Limitations
As a normal human, Bullrope is susceptible to all sorts of physical harm. He can be shot, kicked, punched, etc. When pushed, he has an extremely volatile temper. He can be easy outsmarted when he’s flipping out, and it’s a good way to take advantage of him.
Character History
Coming from very humble backgrounds, Bullrope is a real American “rags to riches” story. Graduating from Harvard in the spring of 1985, James Madison went to work building his company “Maditex Inc” from the ground up. Along with his partner in crime Vincent Curtis, Madison soon earned the nickname “Bullrope” among his peers for his aggressive, cowboy style. When he officially became a billionaire in 1999, the name stuck with the media.
In the new millennium, Bullrope hasn’t slowed down one bit. He’s opened two casinos…one in Vegas, the other in Atlantic City. He owns several dozen luxury hotels and restaurants across the country. His success in spite of his humble beginning have caused some to label him a “real American hero.” He has not discouraged that.
Recently, Bullrope has his eyes on the Rogue Isles. While publicly he expresses interest in the Isles as a real estate opportunity, there may be something more sinister in mind…
