WORK IN PROGRESS

Early Life

Bunji Nakamura was conceived when his parents where only fourteen, this caused both families to view their children as disgraces. The bad blood between their parents made them to move out, forcing Bunji's father to work to support his new family. Though, they did receive some financial report from their parents.

Bunji's life was hard growing up. He never had any good toys and couldn't spend much time with his family as they were always struggling to pay the bills. Although he could have easily become a delinquent at this time he remained rather well behaved, helping his parents whenever he could. This formed the foundation for one of the philosophies Bunji lives by--the meaning of strength.

Middle School

Unlike most delinquents, Bunji's test scores were unusually high. Many teachers theorized that with a little refining and a little motivation he could go into higher leveled classes. Though, Bunji was a rather lazy young man. Constantly acting up in class and never doing any work except tests. He had other interests and school bored him a great deal.

Lucky for him, he was able to make friends rather easily. Although the majority of these friends tended to be the "street fighter" type delinquents that plague many schools. Eventually this group of friends formed a small group called the "Oni Gang" or just the Oni. The word around the school that this gang was lead by the school's top fighter, with Bunji standing as his second in command. Though there were many rumors saying that this wasn't necessarily true. Rumors stated that the "perverted dumbass" who rarely fought provided the Oni with the strategies that allowed them to become the most powerful group of fighters the school had. There was also talk that Bunji was, in reality, the strongest. This gave birth to the stories of "Devil Bunji" and the "100 Man Massacre".

The 100 Man Massacre

In order to overthrow the status the Oni had over on the school the various martial art clubs and gangs banded together to assault the Oni. According to the "official" word the entire gang fought in the battle and defeated everyone. But according to several witnesses the only member of the Oni involved in the fight was Bunji, and several friends of Oni members had mentioned they had were speaking to several of the Oni's members on the phone at the time of the attack.

It happened in the school's parking lot, and according to the rumors Bunji was the only one who showed up to the fight. Saying he was the only one needed to fight them. At that point Bunji "turned into a devil covered in white flames". Decimating the small army of students and even was responsible for a car that was smashed and seemingly "thrown" off site.

This rumor gave Bunji a small fanbase, believing he only acted like a goof to hide his "murderous intent"

High/Upper School

High school only had a few differences from the middle school. Because Bunji and most the members of the gang, the Oni, were placed into a school that had predominantly martial artists and super humans they became an official school club. While students of Karate had the karate club, they were considered a club for "Street" versions of martial arts and for unrefined brawlers.

Once again there were rumors that Bunji was responsible for many savage beatings that occurred during conflicts involving the "Oni Martial Arts Club". The idea of Bunji being a top notch fighter was accepted when he not only won the school's tournament--but was one of the four fighters who stayed in the top four each time the tournament was held. These four fighters were called the "Four Lords" of the academy. Bunji being ranked second his first attempt and remained first throughout after improving his fighting style by learning more about basic martial arts.

Bunji's Abilities

Bunji prefers to avoid combat, often trying to talk his way out of a situation before having to resort to combat. Sometimes resorting to starting a "comical" fight to attack an opponents ego more then their bodies. Or, more then often, trick people to thinking that "he's not worth fighting" as that thought process is a popular cliche. Although many regard him as a fool, in combat he's surprisingly cool headed. Often favoring constant rests and making sure that his groups attack the enemy with overwhelming force. He's a man who makes sure he doesn't underestimate anyone, though his "ego" tends to make others think otherwise.

There is said to be several stages Bunji fights. The first simply being "comedic fighting", generally when he engages in a fight after "losing his temper" or to get back at someone without hurting anything but their pride. Rarely at this stage he uses his ability to generate ki or augment his physical strength. The second is where he utilizes his ki. The third is where he uses his ki to power up his muscles to increase it's mass and strength. The heat from the ki plus the increase of muscle mass generally destroys the sleeves of whatever he's wearing. The final stage is relatively unknown, it's rumored Bunji can increase his power to the point electricity generated from his ki covers his entire body.

Pros and Cons of Bunji's power

For a normal human being Bunji is incredibly powerful. At any point he is capable of increasing his muscle mass (along with physical strength) and generate ki around his arms. His power grants him offensive capabilties that surpasses the limitations set on a normal human body. Because he is able to push his body passed it's limitations he often injures himself or require a cool down. On the occasion he's been known to give himself nasty burns by releasing too much ki.

Strength

Although Bunji is a normal human being he is capable of withstanding and dealing damage far beyond human limitation. He is able to shrug off certain injuries which would many would consider painful as well survive attacks that normally would kill a man. A good example is if Bunji is hit by a car going at a high speed he would only bleed from his mouth and have "a few bumps." Explained in character this is because his body has reached a level many martial artists dream to reach, OOC it is simply a reference to the "Anime Laws of Physics". That if you're strong--you can shrug off a truck crashing into you and bandages fix anything.

It should also be noted that bandages, somehow, seem to heal any wound Bunji has within a short amount of time. Or at least until he is needed to fight again.

Ultimate Street Brawler Style

To an untrained eye Bunji's fighting style seems to be insanely unrefined but seasoned martial artists can see that it's based mainly on the philosophy of karate. Typical of Japanese martial arts attacks come purely from the body, unlike the Chinese who generate power in circular movements to build momentum. Though, even masters fail to notice the subtle differences between an amature karate student and Bunji.

One of the secrets of the fighting style itself is the movements combine Japanese and Chinese martial art philosophy. Instead of having just pure "straight body" attacks the Japanese focus on and the "round cicle" attacks of the Chinese he combines both. By shifting and twisting parts of his body he creates small "circles" (OOC: Karate actually does this, but only to a limited degree). Combining the momentum and force created by these movements into a single strike point he is capable of producing superhuman strikes. Though, if the same technique is used by someone else the power generated by these small circles are minimal. Due to Bunji's ability to utilize his ki to augment his strength these numbers add up to a great deal of power.

As a result many mistake Bunji as a low level karate student because of how "sturdy" his strikes are.

Personality

Bunji's personality is quite diverse, changing depending on the situation and the environment. Most of the time he seems to be a moronic pervert who doesn't know any sort of restraint. But to those who get to know him often see glimpses of another side to Bunji. Occasionally he provides people with useful insight, advice, and philosophies to live by. Being an open person he often "forces" shy types to be more social. Occasionally "hooking people up". He also acts more boastful then he actually is and, even though realizes nothing will come of it, will hit on every attractive woman he sees.

To those who know Bunji on a personal level see a cool, calm, and collected man. Almost the polar opposite of the fool he portrays himself out to be. He's an intelligent young man who ,when directing groups of like-minded fighters, can produce strong fighting teams. He's also insanely caring and protective of his friends, often being the first one to stand up for another person. Though, even if a person manages to befriend Bunji to this level he still has his moments of being odd and insanely perverted.

Those who know him the best know how horribly dangerous he actually is. Former members of the Oni claim that underneath the two exteriors he portrays is a killing machine. Luckily, that side of him rarely shows and exists only in rumor.

Philosophy

Bunji has a unique view of the world which adds to many misunderstandings about his personality. Bunji has a firm belief a person needs to earn respect before they are given it. This causes him to automatically lose respect for someone who, upon first meeting, show off their egos by ranting how "cool" they are or boasting their rank in (a) society. This also has given him a bias against beings who deem themselves more powerful then humans. This leads him to his second philosophy in life. "Just because you're strong doesn't mean you're powerful. People with power have little obstacles to overcome, and therefore are weak. Those without power have more limitations placed on them. They have to become strong in order to break through." Bunji believes that the more powerful a race/background the weaker the individual as true strength can only be achieved through hardships.

This philosophy of true strength coming from hardship probably resulted from his hard upbringing.

Current Life

Seeing as how there were virtually no Sushi Bars on the Rouge Isles and how he was told it was filled by "easy super humans with awesome tits" he dragged his family to the Isles. Bunji works out by beating up random baddies around the Isles, and for some reason gets in the occasional bit of trouble for Longbow. Possibly because he had made moves on Ms. Liberty and countless other heroines. Bunji isn't a villain, vigilante, or a good guy. He has his own place on the moral spectrum.

Bunji still lives with his parents at their home/sushi bar and still acts as the Assistant Chef. His job is to prepare the fish they raise so his father can quickly prepare the meat for he sushi. His mother acts as a hostess, his younger sister takes care of and raises the fish they "farm", and his younger brother occasionally helps clean up. He has a close relationship with his younger sister Nanako, acting as an overprotective big brother wanting to shield her from practically everything. This isn't always appreciated and cause heated, but very brief arguments between the two. Given that those arguments are short and generally leave no bad feelings it's more comical then anything. Bunji's relationship with his younger brother is unknown as "B", his younger brother, is rarely seen.
