Heritage
The Blueford clan are from a long line of rich plantation owners. Jules Isaac Blueford who invested the family's wealth on the Confederate Army would later loose all their lands after the war. Leaving future generations of Bluefords in extreme poverty.
Early life
Solomon Jay Blueford was born in August 5, 1905 in their family cabin in Bayou la Rouge, Louisiana to fisherman and cotton picker Vernon Waylon Blueford Jr. and Penny Cormier-Blueford, the daughter of local barber Tobias Cormier. Solomon in his childhood was a scrawny child and mostly spent his early years at home, barely attending school because of the constant teasing he suffered from fellow classmates. He dropped out of school during the 2nd grade, a move which he regrets till his death. Wanting him to have a future, Penny would waste whatever she had saved buying dime novels for her son against the wishes of her husband. In reading these novels Solomon soon started to look-up to outlaw figures such as Billy the Kid, Butch Cassidy and Jim Miller.
Solomon never had a healthy relationship with his father who believed his son to be a source of disappointment and would suffer severe beatings at his hands. It would be later years that Bubba discovered the reason of his father's unfair treatment towards him, Bubba's birth was unexpected and Vernon never believed that Solomon was his son but instead the love child of his wife and his step-brother James DuGrey, DNA testing would later prove that Vernon was his really his father.
During his childhood Bubba's older brothers, Ulysses Thomas Blueford and Cyril Bartholomew Blueford would accompany their father in his fishing boat and would be gone for days, Bubba could never join his brothers as he wasn't a man yet, instead he would spent his time alone. Using his grandpa's pistol Bubba would venture deep in the swamps and hunt small game, honing his skills as a marksman.
In March 22, 1922 at age 17 Bubba married his sweetheart Mary Lou Boucher, who can trace her family tree to the first Acadian settlers. Giving birth to their firstborn Anna Zurie, Bubba had trouble holding a steady job and would try his hands at several odd jobs but to no avail and to make things worse it seemed that the Blueford cabin just kept getting smaller with the births of Peter Remy, Clyde Jonathan and Trixie Toot-Toot Blueford. America soon felt the devastating effects of the Great Depression and the Bluefords went through even harder times.
Criminal Career
In 1931 Bubba's younger brother Delmar was attacked by a rabid dog while hunting, he suffered for 4 weeks until his death. Bubba was very close with his younger brother and would go into a long state of depressed drinking. One day during a walk in town Bubba spotted a old blind African-American man with a crude guitar, he played what would later be the Blues, seeing a way to express his feelings and make some cash Bubba raced home and made himself his own out of an old cigar box, a piece of broom handle and a couple wires from the screen door. Taking on the stage name of Blue Bubba Blueford, he traveled around Louisiana playing wherever he can, often playing out in the streets and shady bars. It was in one of these shady bars that Bubba's criminal career began. Bubba met a fellow Cajun by the name of Robert Kershaw or better known by the police as "Cajun Joe", he was amazed by Bubba's skill with the pistol that he asked him to join his gang the Bayou Bandits, Bubba needing the cash accepted. Cajun Joe was a bootlegger who smuggled moonshine up north as far as Paragon City, working with powerful Families such as the Marcone's, the Testarossa's and the Giordano Family. With money flowing in Bubba invited his family (all 28 of them) to join the gang.A jealous Genovese Family soon masterminded the deaths of both Ulysses and cousin Pete Arnett, Bubba was arrested after he tracked down and murdered the two hitmen. Bubba spent a month in Ziggursky Prison but was moved back to Louisiana to a small chain gang, there he said:
"Ah be'd chew'd up, spit out n' stepped on...Dat place mades me's tough...Gotta be's tough in'a place like dats o' ya don't be makin' its nother days, ah guarowntee."
He escaped a year later, on the run and need of cash Bubba started robbing grocery stores and soon made his way up to banks. He gained a reputation of outrunning any police that he earned the nickname "Cricket". His hesits soon cought headlines, Bubba was considered by some to be a dangerous criminal, while others idealized him as a latter-day Robin Hood, Bubba himself said:
"Ah ain't no 'ero n' ah be no villain. Ah juss be a hardwork'n man like any o' y'all folks, just dat mah work be break'n the law is all..."
Contrary to the image of a cold-blooded kiler, Bubba actually felt remorse for the murders he committed and the people he killed that'll he'll sent money to the victim's families. During his years as an outlaw Bubba has met and even got into conflicts with fellow outlaws such as John Dillinger, Ma Barker, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. Even witnessing the death of gangmember Jack Hamilton, his slow and painful death brought back unpleasant memories of his own brother's death.
Later Years
When World War 2 broke out Bubba signed-up and became a Navy pilot under the name of Lou Monroe, he served proudly in the Pacific Theater and even became a two-time Navy boxing champ but a shrapnel to his kneecap from a Japanesse Zero costed him his title and was released from the Navy.In late 1943 Bubba was visting family members in Texarkana, Texas. He spotted a bank ripe for the picking, one guard and no gun but unbeknownst to him the bank was being stakeout by the Texas Ranchers, they chased him all the way back to Louisiana. Where his car drove off the road and into the swamp. Swimming down the river Bubba found a small shack which luckly was empty or it seemed, the shack belonged to Voodoo witch, the Bog Momma. She saw Bubba's sins and cursed him to be "What ju iss in de inside.". Mary Lou was waiting for him at the front porch, she saw the hideous alligator man and in a state of brief insanity shot herself. Bubba heartbroken over his wife's suicide, ranned away and lived the rest of the years in the wilds of Louisiana.
Bubba became something of a folktale to the locals, a way for elders to scare the childern into behaving. In 1977 Bubba made his way back to Paragon City, where he tried to flood Galaxy City by destroying the locks holding back the waters of Eastgate Bay but was quickly stopped by local heroes. Bubba was dubbed "the Cajun Croc" by newsreporter Jenny Longman. He spent his years in and out of the Zig, tourmenting the people of Paragon. Bubba soon started selling himself as hired muscle to anyone who can pay his fee, known as the "Hitman that'll kill anything." he soon made contacts with powerful villains and in 2005 was able to escape the Zig with the help of Arachnos.Picking-up where he last left off, Bubba started doing favors for local crime bosses while his stay at Rogue Isles. Unable to keep-up with the growing demands of the new and younger generation of villains, who seemed to play a vastly different game, gone where the days of giant death-traps and spandex instead they where traded for leather and a quick shot to the head. Nobody it seemed was hiring talking lizards and what little contacts Bubba had stopped calling him. Now spending his days drinking once more, Bubba roamed the streets. One day he stumbled into Pocket D (a multiple dimension club for Capes) he soon becamed a regular in thanks to the never ending flow of beer and women. No longer was the name of the Cajun Croc a source of fear and respect but rather thanks to his nostaligic ways and always being somewhat drunk led most to believe he was an incompetent villain, Bubba got his big break when he started working as a hitman/bodyguard for his old boss's grandchild Don Giovanni Giordano III.
Around this time Bubba grew an almost unhealthy obessetion with the supergroup the Steadfast Pact, who in Bubba's mind thought they treated him as a nuisance rather then a respected criminal. Bubba would hatch-up half-thought schemes to earn there respect but they all seemed to fail. For a time Bubba tried to go legit, using his money to open a Cajun restaurant known as the Gator Hole with Bubba as the head chief. The Gator Hole lived for a short successful period, people stopped coming after they discovered what really was in the gumbo--people. Bubba tired his hands in opening a sweatshop which made cute plushies of the Cajun Croc, the idea never got off ground as big toy companies didn't want to sponsor a known killer.
Death
For almost unkown reasons it seemed that the curse which keep him alive for so long was slowly fading away, during one of his check-ups Bubba was diagnosed with alchizmers and lung cancer. Somehow during his last months Bubba's childern (all 8 of them)where spotted at the D with their father, spending quality time together. It is believed that the some of Bubba's missing magic aura was able to bring back his childern from their graves, they all disappeared with the death of their father.
As his time came Bubba soon made his peace with friends and enemies alike. Bubba died in late 2006 and was buried outside his shack in Mercy Island, only a small group of close friends attendanted his funeral. Most who where there claim that Death himself showed-up, others say that a small baby alligator emerged from Bubba's grave and made it's way to the sea and soon faded from view.
Sightings
Even after death people claim of having seen the Cajun Croc. These sightings along with Bubba already dieing before and always coming back, fuels the debate if he is truly dead.
