Part 1

To understand someone like Castor Creed, you have to understand the place where he grew up. Because his home more than anything else has shaped him into the man he is today. Now some may argue that a small town in Nebraska is not all that different from a small town in Vermont. But if your home zip code happens to be in the Rogue Isles, location makes all the difference in the world. Largest haven for criminals, super and non-super alike, the Isles can be very unusual place to grow up in.

Castor Creed was originally born Thomas "Tommy" Wilson on September 2nd 1978 in Port Oaks. He grew up in a small home near the warehouse district. Though it was never easy growing up in the shadow of Arachnos, his father was able to carve out a descent, honest life for his family working at a fish cannery. His mother stayed at home and schooled Tommy herself. In the afternoons, he played with his friends in a bunch of old, abandoned warehouses near the wharf. A number of unemployed warehouse workers had made their homes there after a shipping company called 7-9 Incorporated went bankrupt. One of them was an old man named Francis Castor, who was a friend to the local kids and kept an eye on them for their parents while they were at work.

In June of 1987, Arachnos declared that the warehouse district was to be leveled to make way for a new listening station to monitor radio traffic on the mainland. The people living there were given 1 week to clear out. Francis Castor organized a revolt to protest the lose of their homes since the people there had no else to go and not enough money to relocate to the mainland. On June 20th, the protestors formed a picket line just outside the district and confronted the Arachnos troops sent to move them out. The stand off did not last long before the Arachnos commander gave the order to his troops to open fire. Many of the protestors including Castor were mowed down by gunfire. Yet some of the protestors were armed and fired back. Is was not long before the pent up frustrations of the residents of Port Oaks boiled over and what started off as a simple protest escalated into a full scale riot.

There was fighting and looting in the streets that lasted for 2 days. By the end of the 2nd day, Lord Recluse made it clear that his patience was at an end. That evening troops on the ground were reinforced by large numbers of arachno bots and aircraft. Recluse wanted more than just an end to the riot. He wanted Port Oaks to serve as an example of what happens when his authority is questioned. He airships fired missiles and gunfire into the heart of the city while the ground troops began killing anyone they found. Port Oaks had become a freefire zone and when the dust finally settled the next day nearly 100 people were dead, another 100 or so arrested. One of those arrested was Tommy Wilson's father.

Tommy's mother gathered up what money they had and used it to pay for his passage on a boat to the mainland. She had relatives in Paragon City to take care of him while she stayed behind to look for his father. Tommy would never see either of his parents again.

After arriving in Paragon City Tommy was claimed by his aunt and uncle who tried to raise him as best they could. Tommy had a very difficult time adjusting to life in Paragon City. He was not impressed at all by the heroes who lived there. After all, superhumans were just as common in the Isles as they were in the city. But what he couldn't understand was why there were heroes ready to stop a mugging at anytime of the day or night while people were being killed and enslaved just offshore. Because of their lack of will or ability to confront Recluse head on, Tommy had a very low opinion of the Paragon heroes.

When Tommy was 20 years old, he left his aunt and uncle to work the docks at Independence Port. Eventually he made contact with a smuggler ship that would be willing to take him back to the Rouge Isles. When he arrived at Port Oaks, it bared little resemblance at all to the home he knew as a child. Recluse had given control over most of Port Oaks to the Family who in just few years had turned it into the mob capital of the world. Tommy spent the next several days trying to find any of his old friends or neigbors. He manage to find 3 of his old childhood friends, including his best friend Callie Webster. His friends told him that things hadn't gotten much better since the riot. The Family had rebuilt Port Oaks but had driven all the legitimate business away. They were now the only employer on the island and everyone had to play ball if they wanted to scratch out a living. The streets were open warfare for other gangs making bids to take over the Family's turf while Arachnos frequently turned a blind eye.

Tommy decided that enough was enough. The people here were living under a cloud of fear and no one was standing up for them. And in Tommy's mind, if those nutjobs in pj's back in Paragon City weren't gonna get it done then it fell to them to put things right. They decided that the residents of Port Oakes needed their own gang. One that was going to protect and look out for them. They decided to name themselves the 7Niners after the name on the warehouse they used to play in as kids before the '87 riot. They would infiltrate the gangs and gather intelligence on them while building their own organization. Eddie Price (aka Slice) had already gotten a job as a system's analyst at Aeon Industries. Callie worked for a Consigliore named Michael Destephano in the Family cartel. Chase Mcphearson (aka Lojack), already an amateur thief, would make contact with the Goldbrickers.

Tommy would work his way into the Hellions. He took on a new identity which Slice was able to create fake credentials for. The name he chose for himself was Castor Creed after the man who led the warehouse protest. He eventually work his way into the gang and became highly proficient with firearms (pistols in particular).

Over the next couple of years, they worked their way further into their respective organizations gathering intelligence while meeting in secret once an month to share what they've learned. Over time, they learned of secret deals and shipments of illegal contraband that sometimes they would tip one gang off to, setting one gang against another. Other times they would rip off the goods and money for themselves in order to build and extend the 7Niner underground. Eventually they developed a strong network of contacts and well-equipped safe houses throughout the Rouge Isles.

Two years ago Consigliore Destefano took on a new up-and-coming Lieutenant name Alex Kaplan. Kaplan was from the same neighborhood as the rest of the 7Niners and immediately recognized Callie as an old childhood friend. Kaplan was immediately smitten with Callie and starting making moves on her. For her part, she feigned interest in him while keeping him at arms length hoping to get something out of him.

After agreeing to have drinks with him, Kaplan told Callie of a Family shipment of illegal arms arriving in Cap au Diabla the following day. Afterwards, Callie informed Creed who in turn told the Hellions and suggested jacking the gun shipment for themselves. The Hellion leaders jumped all over it. But about an hour before the raid, they planned for Lojack to sneak aboard the cargo ship carrying the weapons and steal a number of them for the 7Niners.

The idea was that when the Hellions raided the ship, the Family would blame the Hellions for the theft while the 7Niners stayed free and clear. Unfortunately the plan did not go as they had hoped. Lojack was able to slip in and out of the ship undetected but was caught on a video surveillance camera. Creed was also caught on camera when the Hellions successfully raided the ship. When Kaplan, who was responsible for the shipment viewed the video footage, he recognized both Castor and Lojack as being from his old neighborhood. The coincidence of this was something Kaplan couldn't ignore. He put Callie under surveillance to see if there really was a connection between her and the Hellion raid. A couple of weeks later the people Kaplan had tailing her took pictures of her meeting with both Lojack and Creed.

Upon learning this Kaplan was outraged. The next day, after Calllie had shown up for work in Destepheno's office Kaplan put the word on the street that he was putting up a $10,000 bounty on the heads of both Creed and Lojack. When the Hellions heard of the bounty they had no idea of Creed's real intentions. Not that it really mattered. Even if it appeared that Creed was a loyal member of the Hellions in good standing, ten thousand dollars was still ten thousand dollars! 5 Hellions attempted to take him out at a liquor store where he was buying booze for his fellow gang members. Fortunately, Creed was quicker on the draw and managed to drop two of them before escaping out the backdoor. Creed then discovered that there were even more Hellions in the ally. No question the jig was up as Creed ran though the streets Cap au Diabla trying to stay one step ahead of his former gangbanger buddies.

During the ensuing chase, Creed managed to make a cell phone call to Lojack warning him that there was a hit out on them. Luckily the Goldbrickers had not heard of the bounty yet and Lojack was able to slip away with 2 of their jet packs. Strapping one of the packs while carrying the other, Lojack flew to Creed's location. When he got there he found Creed in an alley behind a dumpster being pinned down by Hellion gunfire. Using a Goldbricker sonic gun while hovering above the Hellions, Lojack was able to break up their attack and send them running. When he landed, Creed was already on his cell phone. He couldn't reach Callie or Slice. Assuming the worst, Creed strapped on the second jet back and the two took off towards (name) building to find Callie.

Unaware of the bounty that had been put on her friends, Callie was going about her normal duties when Kaplan called her into his office. Once there, Kaplan locked the door behind her and accused her of being a spy. Callie at first denied it but Kaplan showed her the proof of her collusion with Creed and Lojack. He told her that she belonged to him now and that whether she stayed alive or not was dependent on how "happy" she was going to make him.

Callie did not like where this was going. And what Kaplan didn't know was that during her years growing up in the Rouge Isles, she knew how to defend herself. Slipping her hands beneath her skirt, Callie pulled out two combat knives she kept holstered to her thighs. With near blinding speed she slashed at Kaplan, shredding his shirt and cutting into his skin. Much to Callie's surprise, Kaplan seemed to shrug her attack off completely. Picking her up with ease he threw her clear across the room, her body smashing into the opposite wall. It was then that Kaplan told her he had been taking Supradyne treatments for the last 6 months. Callie was dazed but she quickly shook it off as she tried to stay away from Kaplan who was trying bludgeon her with a metal floor lamp. Finding an opening, Callie slipped beneath Kaplan's guard and slit his throat with her knife.

This threw him off balance as Callie seized the opportunity and plunged both knives deep into his torso. But just as he was on the verge of collapse, his supradyne altered physiology regenerated his wounds. He struck back at Callie knocking her to the ground. Kaplan tried to speak but it became clear that the wound to his throat had not healed properly. Making a low gurgling sound, he picked up his executive style desk with one hand as he prepared to crush her with it.

Part 2

At that moment, Castor Creed appeared hovering with his jet pack just outside of Kaplan's office window six floors up. He leveled both pistols at Kaplan and open fired, the high calibar rounds blowing through the window and ripping through his body. Kaplan tried to stand up to the attack but Creed kept firing until the magazines in both guns were spent. Slowly but finally, Kaplan collapsed.

By this time, the other people working in the office building had heard the shots and some Family enforcers had been called in. Callie got to her feet and jumped through the shattered window into Creed's arms just as the enforcers kicked in Kaplan's office door. They got to the window in time to see the 3 7Niners fly off across the city. Creed knew the jet backs didn't have enough fuel to reach another island, so the three of them headed to one of their hideouts on the shore where a speedboat was docked.

But before they could reach it, a load sonic boom exploded all around them sending them spinning out of control towards the ground. Lojack, who had alot of expierence flying these jet packs was able to right himself enabling him to make a rough but survivable landing on the beach. Callie and Creed were not so lucky as both of them went spiraling into the water. Whle taking off his ruined jet pack, Lojack looked up to the sky and saw who attacked them. It was an entire unit of Goldbrickers flying in formation . The sonic attack had come from a high intensity pulse cannon used by Commander Burke, leader of the Goldbricker unit in Cap au Diabla.

While sprinting towards others, Lojack recognized where they were and came up with a plan for. He met up with his friends as they were pulling themselves out of the water. By that time, they could hear the roar and rumble of the Goldbrickers jetpacks. Running as fast as they could while still trying to stay under cover, they moved into Diable's warehouse district right next to the warf. As they ran, gunfire impacted and richocheted off the ground and building arounds them while sonic blasts shattered the asphalt.

Abruptly, Lojack told the others to take cover behind behind a delievery truck parked in front of the second to last warehouse next to the water. Though they were exposed with only the truck for cover, Lojack told Callie and Caster to give him coverfire while he worked on the electronic lock securing the warehouse. Having given Callie one his pistols, the two 7Niners open fired on the Goldbrickers circiling above them while Lojack opened up the touchpad on the lock. Quickly but methodically, Lojack bypassed the encyption circuit and cut voltage to the arming circuit, causing the lock to reset back to its factory default, wiping all entry codes clean. He opened the door and slipped in the warehouse with Callie and Castor close behind. As soon as they were in, Lojack jammed the lock making sure that the Goldbrickers would have blast the door to open it.

Lojack had chosen this warehouse specifically because he knew this was a base of operations for a local unit of Skyraiders. He had been casing this place for a month as a possible mark for the 7Niners. Fortunatly a guard hadn't been posted at the door but the firefight outside had drawn the Skyraiders attention. As they ran down the entrance corrider they could hear the Raiders coming the other direction. Behind them they could hear the Goldbrickers trying to force the door open. Then, Lojack grabbed his friends and pulled them into an alcove just as the Goldbrickers blasted through the door with a sonic pulse. A second later, the Skyraiders rounded the corner and saw the Goldbrickers entering their base through a shattered door. With the 7Niners momentarly out of sight, the Raiders assumed this is a turf hit and open fired on the Goldbrickers.

The alcove was deep enough for them to remain out of sight but more importantly they were just underneath the open-air second floor to the warehouse. The crates stacked in the alcove enabled the 7Niners to climb to the 2nd floor and swing over the guardrail. With the boom of sonic weapons and machine gun fire neither side saw the three escape. Once up on the 2nd floor the two made their way through another storage room into the main storage floor at the back of the warehouse. Looking down on the floor they could see other Skyraiders still scrambling to help their teammates defend against the Goldbricker "assault". When the last of them had left, Lojack took the lead and climbed up a ladder leading to the scaffolding above the main floor. From their they opened up a skylight and pulled themselves onto the roof. The way Lojack had intended to break in to the warehouse was now their way out of the worst debacle they had ever found themselves in.

Now all they had to do is get down without being seen. Taking the firescape was out because it was located at the front of the building where the Raider/Goldbricker firefight raged. They decided to go the back of the warehouse jump to the next one. It was within easy jumping distance and all three of them made it. As they started heading towards the opposite end of the roof where that wharehouse's firescape was, they could hear the familiar whirl and hum of a Goldbricker jetback as one them flew up behind them and open fired with a submachine gun. The only cover available was an air conditioning unit which all 3 of them dived behind as soon they heard the jetpack.

Suddenly, six other Goldbrickers shot up from the alley and landed on the roof including Commander Burke. Burke had taken half his men around the back of the Raider warehouse while the other half went through the front door. They were getting ready to blast open the rear door when they saw the 7Niners jumping across the alley to the roof of the other warehouse.

Hiding behind an ac unit on a rooftop, the 7Niners realized they were now out of moves with nowhere to run. Lojack had lost his sonic rifle when Burke knocked them out of the sky earlier. Both of Creeds pistols where out of ammunition. The only weapon they still had was Callie's combat knives which were useless now. Burke looked on with immense statisfaction as he brought his sonic pulse rifle to bear on them. When he used it stop their jetpack escape before, he had widen the dispersal pattern to knock down all three of them. Now he had narrowed the range frequency so he would fire a more concentrated burst that blow that ac unit off the roof taking the 7Niners with it.
