Centruoicles Sculpturatus (hitherto known as Centruo) has run the gamut from lowly squire to honored Paladin of Torm to Faerie King and finally brought low by the machinations of the wicked. Now he seeks a return to his days as a pure soul, uncorrupted by the sting of betrayal.

History

Centruo first arrived in the city of Neverwinter following a disastrous attempt to set his mother free of the influence of an evil necromancer (in actuality a lich) that resulted in both of his parents becoming undead creatures roaming the field of the Battle of bones. Initially he threw himself into the life of an adventurer, functioning as a paladin of Torm. It wasn’t long, however, before he met the woman that would change everything about his life: Ilysianna de~Ravenmane.

At first he thought her a particularly beautiful elven maiden, and being somewhat of a charmer himself, began to unabashedly flirt with her. It turned out the two had a connection with one another that they never felt before, but they each had their responsibilities that allowed them little more than a friendship. As time drew on he would come to realize that Ilysianna was possibly the most sought after woman in Neverwinter and he was only the latest in an exceedingly long line of suitors. Unfortunately for them, however, they could not compete with the immediate attraction they each felt. Soon Centruo learned that not only was Ilysianna the Faerie Queen of Neverwinter but that he himself was a sidhe.

After a lengthy courtship Ilysianna and Centruo were wed in the Nightal (Winter) of 1370 DR. Some time after their marriage Centruo's family began to grow to include not only Ilysianna and her adopted daughter Jaliycia, but also the newborn Auraillia. Centruo set upon a quest to ensure the protection of his family, but was captured by a rogue fae and the preists she conned into a holy crusade against the Kithain. Centruo was tortured and brainwashed into becoming Dauntain, a fae hunter of the highest order. He set about his task with the fervor only true believers are capable of, convinced that fae were demon possessed, bringing death to any who would not be "cured." In time he was told that even his own family was possessed and began the capaign to set them free.

During the final assault Centruo abducted his wife, who was overcome with the banality of the hunters nearly to the point of death. Following a vicious attack from his one time companion, the werewolf McDonough, Centruo was forced to momentarily flee into the portal from where they staged their attack. There he found one of the other priests attempting to molest his wife and in a rage attacked his once ally shattering his face and skewering him. The other priests discovered the attack and he was forced to disable each of them. Believing the actions of his allies dishonored both himself and their cause he returned Ilysianna to her people and departed, swearing to return to answer for their crimes as soon as he was assured of their safety. Upon his return the fae discovered that their attacker, known only as The Golden Knight, was actually thier missing King.

Eventually Centruo was cured of the brainwashing and remembered his true past, but was overcome with insurmountable guilt over his actions. It has been this guilt that's driven him ever since those days long ago to atone for his past. Eventually Ilysianna, Jaliycia, and Auraillia left for Arcadia where Centruo could not follow them. Instead the sidhe found himself reborn into one new life after another, but with each rebirth he maintained his torturous memory.

His arrival in Paragon was a fluke of crossing fortunes. After anchoring his spirit to a pair of enchanted gauntlets, he was set free by a young man's attempt at heroism. The conflux of magic at that moment, led to Centruo possessing the young man for some time. Driven as he's always been by his conscience he seperated himself from the young man, leaving him with no memory of their time together. As a result he was somehow granted a new life spun whole cloth from the Dreaming itself. Centruo accepted this as the final sign that he was cursed by the Dreaming itself but decided to share his curse with those who shared his sins, bringing misery and suffering to all those who threaten the city.

It could be said that fortune smiled upon the sidhe one night while he sought to drown his miseries in the raucus interdimensional club known as Pocket D, and so saying would be no metaphor. On this night he happened to notice a young burgess who seemed to be getting harassed by several Wolf Spider solders. Seeing this ignited in the old knight a spark of some sort that he had long forgotten. Without thinking overmuch about it, he approached the group...hearing the wager that they proposed: Should they win their game the young woman would be theirs. Should they lose, she would have the aircraft they piloted. Out of reflex the chimerical axe appeared in his hand and he called upon the Wyrd to make it real...so that he might sever these fools in half...forgetting the protections placed upon those within the club.

To his surprise, as well as that of the soldiers, the young woman won the game the soldiers sought to cheat at. When she demanded they pay up, their initial reaction was anger, until the sidhe demanded that they honor their wager. His seeming was down so the soldiers (and the young woman) saw the sidhe as he truly was. The Wolf Spiders were horrified at the sight while the young mage was immediately fascinated. He would come to know her as Karis Marie Hagermann, the heroine known as Fortune's Vessel.

Although he sought to avoid interacting with her, she made constant advances on him, finding any and every excuse to meet with him, but out of concern for her well being he respectfully declined her advances. It wasn't until the unexpected return of his long lost companion Cailte that he would finally be convinced to aid her. When the Rikti invaded the second time, it was Cailte and Centruo who stood by Karis in the fight, ensuring she was protected.

His motivations, however, held another cause: he realized that he could use the power of this young woman to undo his wicked past by elliminating the cause: the fallen Eshu Kyrasha. The trouble, he realized, is that his conscience was too strong a force to contend with but there was an alternative. He knew well the changes that overcame him on Samhain. If he could prepare his plan until that night, then that conscience would become a non-issue.

He continued to rebuff Karis' advances, effective though they were, until the rise of the moon on Samhain. Already the city was blanketed in constant night but the change that overcame him needed no physical representation. He felt it immediately and made his way to her apartment with the intent of bedding her to ensure her final cooperation. In the end, though the spell was a success, his attempt to slay Kyrasha before she could enact his plan was halted...by a version of himself from the future he was trying to create.

In the end he chose to allow time to play out as it was intended to, with his capture and torture at the hands of the eshu, and return to his own present, but in the meeting he had gained something of his old self back: The Purifier, the Holy Sword he once wielded before he lost his way. Following this event, the sidhe and the burgess began their relationship in earnest. Although he still deeply loves his wife, Centruo takes comfort in the unrelenting youth of his new lover. So dedicated had he become, that he forced the greater part of his magical talent into a protective amulet that Karis could call upon at any time he was not there.

Personality

Centruo is a man driven by responsibility: responsibility to his family and friends; responsibility for the crimes of his past; responsibility to fix the mistakes he's made. He can easily become single-minded in his pursuits, often to the frustration of those around him who would rather just relax. His sense of nobility and honor is a powerful force, even by sidhe standards, and come as much of a result of his early life in Faerun as his existance as a sidhe. Although he no longer holds the title, he still carries himself as a Regent. As Samhain approaches his Unseelie nature begins to become more dominant, however, and the Beast within seeks release for the one day Centruo has no choice in the matter.

Powers

Until recently the primary threat posed by Centruo was his ability to share his curse with others of his choosing, causing them to be (as he belives himself to be to his own) the greatest threat to their allies. As long as those he deems deserving of his curse continue to stand, they make all who hope to aid them fall like rotted fruit.

Recent events have restored to him some measure of his previous abilities, most powerful of these being his once thought lost ability to manipulate the fabric of time itself. Once he used this talent to turn back time to stop the murder of his eldest daughter by an enemy wielding the very same Dreamslayer sword that he now possesses at the cost of a small part of his own soul. As a result of containing his magical talent into an amulet for his lover Karis he has shown little magical ability beyond that of his ability to "flicker" from one place to another at will.

Perhaps a more subtle ability is one possessed by all sidhe: the art of Sovereign. Through use of this Art he can cause those who see him to tremble in fear as if in the presence of the most royal of kings.

Beyond these things, he has long been a highly skilled swordsman. His primary means of attack are his two weapons: The Purifer and The Raven's Grace.

Weaknesses

Like all Fae (and sidhe in particular) Centruo has a severe weakness to cold iron, although particularly banal enemies (such as the Rikti or Lost) can pose as great a threat.

Affiliations

Recently Centruo was invited to join the ranks of The Rovers to act as Guradian and Mentor to the young mage Karis "Gracie" Hagerman. He's taken on the role with the warning of the dangers posed by his company to all who spend time near him.

Friends and Allies

Most of Centruo's friends are lost to him to the best of his knowledge. With the notable exception of one of his best friends (and at times enemy) Cailte McDonough, his friends seem spread to the four winds.

His greatest ally is also his greatest love: Ilysianna de~Ravenmane, liege of House Ravenmane and late Queen of the Fae of the Sword Coast of Faerun. Such a powerful love as that shared by these two has been a deadly blessing and a sublime curse, for the sidhe can never share so wonderous a bond as the one he shared with his one true love.

Cailte McDonough is a garou of the Fianna tribe. He is a far travelled (and travelling) bard with his own story to tell, should you care to ask him. One of the people who convinced Centruo to speak to Ilysianna.

Kerrgon was once known as the Lord of Nightmares and was one of those (along with Cailte) who ultimately talked him into realizing his love for Ilysianna.

Most recently he has found an unlikely companionship with the young mage Karis, most well known as Fortune's Vessel. Though her attraction towards him is quite obvious, (and as well his attraction to her) his loyalty to his lost wife seems too great a hurdle for her to overcome...for now.

Enemies

Among Centruo's enemies few stand out as brightly and garner as much hatred from the sidhe as the eshu Kyrasha. Though he takes responsibility for his actions, it was she who initially abducted him and set him on the path he's been on since. Given the chance he would slay this woman without second thought...and should his plans come to fruition that may be exactly what he does.

Another enemy is the shade Tarchannen Stelan, though until recently this servant of the Shadow Court was held prioner in Margranite Keep. Recent reports indicate that he has since been set free.
