"The definition of a hero, at least in my mind, is someone who can protect what is right. To change and stop the wrong. To fight against the forces that seek to destroy you. And, at the very least ... live life well, and enjoy it with those you love."

The Other Earth
A little background.. 'Chilong' is not of this particular Earth. She is from an alternate dimension, one almost the same to this one. Chi's race, Xellian, were not native to that Earth. Almost 2000 years ago, they arrived on Earth. At first, they were welcome refuges. Their own world devastated by an invading force, they sought a new one to mae their own, to peacefully co-exist. The humans inhabitting the Earth, they felt pity for the Xellians, and for a while the 2 species co-existed peacefully. But time passes, and human nature started to take over. Humans started to see just how different the Xellian were (not just physically), and they began to fear them. It was around then that the conflicts between Human and Xellian began. The Xellian were not warlike in nature, and were quickly overcome. And then enslaved by primitive man. And to this day, the Xellian remained an enslaved race to the Humans.
Xellians
Or 'Xel' as the Humans often called them (a derogatory term), were not always as 'Humanlike' physically as they are now. Xellian's skin are either blue or green, this seems to be random amongst the Xellian. Some are born with the ability to manipulate the elements, but not all. Those who cannot are known as 'Cholas'. Xellians who can control the elements are generally put to hard labor. Which element they control determines their exact task and location. Those who can not control elements generally serve as personal servants, or in light labor (usually indoors), or used for the pleasure of humans. Some Xellians had tried to rise up, to free themselves from bondage, but it would never succeed. While the Xellians do possess extraordinary abilities, they are for the most part the minority amongst humans.
The Messiah Advent
There had always been a myth amongst the Xellian. That one of their own would be born to free them from enslavement. This savior would be able to control the element of the mind, one of which is only born every third of fourth generation. This is where Chilong's story begins. She was born to a mother who could control water, and a father who had no such abilities. When she was born, she was given the name 'River', considering her mother's powers and all. She had shown no powers when she was born, and so she served the owner of her parents inside of his home. When she first started showing signs that she was a telepath, her clan was immediate to decide to keep it a secret. They knew what it meant, that she could be the one born to free her people. From an early age she had heard the stories of the savior of the Xellian people, but she had never believed it. How could she? The thought of one person being responsible for an entire race just sounded.. impossible. But now she had everyone around her telling her that she was this person. This savior. But slowly she had been convinced that it was her role in life to free her people from the slavery of the Human race. Perhaps she really started to believe it, or perhaps she had seen how much this would mean to all those she knew.. all those she loved.
"We must rise... stand! Resist!"
Until her abilties started to discretely emerge, Chilong was a very adept servant. She was the personal assistant to Jonathon Bledel, a very rich and powerful business magnate, having interests in real estate, international shipping, entertainment, amongst other things. Chilong's role was basically to help Mr. Bledel with whatever it is he needed. She was often a listening board for his ideas, offering input when she could. Of course, she was just a Xel, and perhaps was never really taken seriously in this regard. In secret, behind closed doors, Chilong would be working with her clan and other clans to arrange strikes on important Human interests. Specifically, slave camps and auction centers. She had found that her mere presence was enough to inspire others to act.. to WANT to fight against their Human oppressors. But the will wasn't enough. It also required force. And their forces were gathering in secret, waiting for the day when they would strike as one.. all the clans moving in a choreographed sympathy of destruction and vengence against the Human race that had enslaved them for thousands of years. Chilong's mother, Kiari, wanted of course what was best for her people.. but also for her daughter. There were times when the latter was more important to Kiari. But for Chilong's father, Jono, and Chilong herself, the fate of their people was far more important. Chilong was more than willing to sacrifice her own being if it meant her people would be free from enslavement. She was willing to give up her life, and her own happiness.
Trip To China, Final Strike
The rebellion against humanity had been continuing for years after Chilong's abilities were first discovered. She was nothing more than a child when she was identified as a psychic elemental. And after many years of struggle, the leaders of the Xellians felt it was time for a defining blow against the humans. It was by this time Chilong and her family had been liberated from Bledel, and Bledel himself murdered in his sleep. Now able to move more freely, it was decided the main force of the liberation had to head into China. China is where many of the major corporations and slave industries had their homes, and so it was logical to go there. To strike at the heart of the slavery circles. When Chilong arrived in China, she fell in love with the culture itself, it's history. Not so much the current climate, but the rich nature of China's past. But she knew they were in China to strike the humans where they feel the most secure, and so she knew what had to be done. But the Xellian leaders and freedom fighters never had the chance to put their plan into motion. The humans had known of the Xellians coming to China, and of their plans to shut down the corporation centers of slavery there. They had waited for the Xellians, and had planned an ambush for them. Humans had now unleashed an experimental weapon devised by the Portal Corporation. This weapon actually created tears in space, creating fissures that would absorb anything near the fissure. The destination of the fissure was unpredictible at best, but humans didn't care. This weapon was devastating against the Xellians, they had no defense against it. Chilong did her best to lead her people, to show bravery against the humans and their new and incredibly advanced weaponry. Sadly, she herself then fell to the rift cannon. And just like that, the liberation of the Xellian people had been squashed.
New Earth
After the rift cannon was drawn agaisnt her, Chilong was unconscious and seeming in the same place she had been before. Once she was able to awaken and actually move.. she came to realize something was very wrong. This was the place of the great battle against the humans, but something was very off. There were no signs of the battle, and no people either. Xellian or human. The region looked essentially the same.. but it all looked.. like it had never seen battle.
