Cleaver's Chance is one of five roleplay toons that work together, play together, and toil together. Brought together by luck, which is ironic for Timothy since he has no luck, the group works together, slowly learning about each other and helping Paragon City as Heroes while helping themselves with their own problems. The Fortune's Five, as they became known as, will be around for a long time, but Timothy has never stayed in one spot too long in fear that he will be found by his debtors.
History
Timothy Hurper, known as Cleaver's Chance in Paragon City, wasn't always a rouge. He grew up in Terra Huate, Indiana. He was one of 4 to his mother and father who were married for 15 years before he was born. When Timothy was only 18, his mother died due to Respiratory Cancer, and it scarred him for life, since he was close to her. That is when he fell into gambling underage with his friends. He paid them back, but when he was legal age for gambling, 21, he went to Vegas and lost his life savings. He had no way to pay back his debts, so he ran. Around that same time, maybe 3 months later, he join the army, and the medical core. He was safe in foreign countries while on duty, but leave was soon, and Timothy was afraid of going back. He went AWOL, and found his way back to Rouge Island, more closely, Paragon City. He hid there, got a great idea.
A few weeks later, he had a makeshift costume, and became Cleaver's Chance, a "Super Hero" to make some extra money. He did minor jobs, and then one day he ran into some others. These "others" became the other four of the Fortune's Five. Meeting them was Timothy's first real good luck in his life. As he traveled with them, he kept quiet. Not really saying much in fear that there was a poster out there for him. He didn't want anyone to know who he really was. For his debts, or his AWOL. He knows sooner or later, his past will catch up to him, but for now, he feels safe enough to continue his run with the group.
Background Notes
His Katana was a gift to him from his mom at his 17th birthday. The blade is impervium, and was meant to be a keepsake, not a weapon. He uses it to fight crime, in memory of his mother, but also to show that he isn't afraid of what is to come. He has used it for fighting off the debtors more than once. This is also one thing he never has gambled away, or would think of wagering.
He wears metal links on himself. He decided to do this to make him remember his debts. Each chain link is worth about $100. With heavy chains around his neck, both arms, his shoulders and his waist, he carries a heavy burden, physically and mentally. These chains will be tossed away once the debts are repaid. (Paid: 1/6 sets currently)
his gambling debts are from losses at the card tables, mainly poker, and slots. His biggest debt is to the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, but he won't say how much. He really doesn't like to talk about his gambling, and if the subject comes up, he either walks away, or changes the subject. He tries to stay away from centers of gambling, like Las Vegas and St. Martial, both places where he owes debts in, but also because he's afraid of the chance of a relapse.
As he is incognito, most people don't know his name. Not even the Fortune's Five know it. Most of the people in Paragon City know him as "Cleaver's Chance" And Cleaver or Chance, is what people refer to him as. Timothy Hurper is unown to Cleaver's Chance, even though he knows that it is him.
Even though his is a "Regeneration" Hero, he doesn't really have a higher regeneration rate. He doesn't heal because his body is that way, but because of his medical training. Bandaging, Serums, and his Physical Training is what really makes him a "Regeneration". He does "say" that he is bandaging himself up when he uses Reconstruction and Dull Pain is a Steroid he uses.
