History
Leon McCorrin was born to fairly normal parents in Durham, North Carolina. He was not always the way he is.. he was born fairly human in appearance, though from early ages he started developing tell-tale signs he was not normal. By the time he was 5 years old, his eyes were jet black and his fingers possessed Talons. When these developed, his parents started to fight, especially after the Doctor reported that he was in fact a mutant. His mutation strained his parents relationship as his mother cared about him still, but his father hated mutants and they soon split up, his Father telling his Mother he "wanted nothing to do with your mutant kid". Leon and his mother then moved home to Raleigh to begin new lives.
Leon's childhood was fairly strained from that point on as his mutant appearance continued to manifest, and he was often teased or bullied at school. He had few friends, those times were harsh on mutants. By the time he was ten years old his hands and feet had become avian, and he was developing small itchy patches of feathers around his body. Seeking advice from established mutants, Rayne enrolled her child in an all-mutants boarding school where he could be with others like him, and where he could receive the kind of care a changeling mutant would need. He moved there soon after, eager to get away from the treatment he suffered at school.
Life from the moment he moved there was much better. though he missed his mother, he was not homesick. He was amongst many others like him for the first time in his life, and he was not the most striking mutant either. He had no powers at that point, and though envious of mutants who actually had powers, he was happy enough to be there. He mostly had a normal curriculum along with some learning on mutants, and he made many good friends.
When he was 14, his mutation finally became dominant, and he was rushed to the medical facilities on the academy as his body begin to metaphorically burn. He felt like he was on fire.. no pain but he felt uncomfortably hot, as if he had a fever. Scans quickly showed what was happening and he was made comfortable to weather out his mutation. It was over within days, and he emerged as he is today. He immediately had to make some very strong changes in his life, but he was in the best company to adjust. He had to relearn how to walk, how to eat and how to drink. Though he missed being able to eat and drink some foodstuffs, he was happy of at least one thing: he could fly. He had been having dreams of it for years.. and though he was clumsy at first (especially on landing) he possessed Avian flight instincts and was soon able to master flying. He also gained his first real superpower: psionics. He was for the first time enrolled in classes on flying and psychic studies, along with power control classes.
When he was 17, he and other mutants were offered placement on the Hero Corps 'young heroes' program. Though Hero Corps is controversial in that they offered Heroism for pay, they were a lifeline for many mutants and others who did not possess normal appearances and thus would have trouble finding normal employment. Leon, who was registered as 'Corvus' at that point, decided to take them up on their offer as he had little idea what to do with his life, but decided that if he could help others with his powers, he would do so.
Powers
- Flight.
Corvus is a humanoid Crow, and thus possesses a pair of wings which enable him to fly.
- Psionics
Corvus possesses psychic powers, mostly geared towards mental manipulation and control. Though not as finely honed towards hurting or manipulating others like some psychics, he is able to fire a mental blast that hurts all before him, but he cannot focus on a single target in a crowd. He possesses short range telekinesis also.
- Personal Telekinetic Forcefield
This power is a telekinetic field that protects Corvus from harm. The field sits around 1cm from the surface of his body when active.
- Speed / Agility
Corvus is faster and (only just) superhumanly agile as his body is avian, and is thus much lighter. A side effect is that he is much more easily knocked around.
- Super vision
Corvus possesses the eyes of a bird, which are telescopic. He can pick out a mouse on the side walk from atop a skyscraper.
- Talons
Though not exactly a 'power', he does possess avian talons, which can be used in combat.. or to pick locks or whatnot.
Abilities
- Expert marksman.
Corvus has turned his training to his weapon accuracy, assisted by his avian vision, he is a very adept shot.. easily able to compete at the Olympic level.
- Gadgeteer
Though not superhumanly smart normally, he is an expert gadgeteer, able to craft devices that seem out of this world. This is actually a side effect of his psychic powers: his mind picks up on the latent creativity, ideas and skills of others on a subconscious level without him realizing and raises his intelligence to superhuman levels. This means he can craft things that are way out of his league as long as he is within range of others.
Equipment
- Omnipistol
The Omnipistol is a weapon invented by Corvus. It is amongst the most highly adaptable hand-held weapons available and has a recoilless design that dissipates over 90% of the recoil from each shot, making it very highly accurate. It has a highly variable construction that adapts to the ammunition that is loaded into it, and indeed adapts to be able to take any ammunition that you attempt to load into it (within reason) so it can fire any round, from hand-held calibre, Shotgun shells to heavy calibres. It possesses two different barrels for this purpose, one large lower barrel and one smaller upper barrel, each of which adjusts in radius to the exact ammunition loaded.
A secondary ability of the Omnipistol, is that when the secondary safety is toggled off, the barrel is charged with a magnetic field which increases the speed and damage of each bullet.
Attacks are role-played as;
Burst = Either Double Taps 9mm rounds twice, or double taps .357 rounds once.
Slug = Standard Shotgun Shell.
Buckshot = Shotgun Buckshot shell.
Beanbag = Corvus fires a specially made gas pellet that can disorient a foe.
Flamethrower = Fires a specially made liquid fuel shell that ignites on contact with air in a spray.
Sniper Rifle = Fires a higher calibre sniper rifle round, Corvus favours the .300 Remington Managed-Recoil round.
Ignite: A 'flame' capsule that is created using the same technology as his liquid fuel shell. When a button is pressed (which in in indentation so that it can only be pressed by a talon) and it is thrown to the ground, it bursts apart into a small short duration inferno.
Full Auto = Corvus has developed a 'needle' round for use in his Omnipistol, the cartridge is of comparable size to a standard magazine, but contains 100 'needles' that can be shot from special needle thin barrels between the standard barrels. The weapon can fire them on full auto and will empty the clip extremely quickly.

- NV Goggles
These Night Vision goggles were crafted to be powered by latent psychic energy (akin to the clockwork). Appearance-wise, they appear to be normal goggles.
- Lockpicks
A standard set of lockpicks / Skeleton key.
Trivia
Corvus is easily distracted by shiny objects, and can be flighty if surprised.
