Personality
Vanessa/Cosmic generally maintain a calm exterior. The woman and her Kheldian counterpart are, in general, cheerful beings. Despite any misfortunes they may have encountered in their respective lives, both approach each day with a positive outlook and, unless working jobs that require their full attention.
On occasion they will refer to themselves in the plural but Vanessa usually gets control over their social activities while her counterpart (whose name is so hard to pronounce in the human languages that Vanessa often calls it 'Cosi') seems content to take care of business matters thus they rarely refer to themselves in the plural as some tend to do.
Appearance
Neither Vanessa nor Cosi particularly appreciates the confines of the human body and clothing in general. Their combat attire, though intended to protect their human body irritates them to no end. Though they take on the Dwarf form occasionally, it is only out of necessity to protect both their lives.
Weaknesses and Limitations
The mutual dislike for rigid body forms results in Vanessa/Cosi's perilous existence outside the protective shell of their Dwarf or human forms. They heavily favor the Nova form for its freedom of movement and thus find themselves constantly in danger due to its lack of defenses.
Origins
Vanessa was always a cheerful, imaginative child. One night she dreamed that a fairy had come to her and told her she was special. Needless to say, her parents dismissed this as another one of Vanessa's daydreams but when the child began talking to herself they worried a little more. As she grew older, Vanessa displayed no special abilities but continued to talk to herself eventually coming to speak in first person plural, often referring to herself as "we". At sixteen, her parents finally gave in and took Vanessa to a string of therapists who diagnosed her with a multitude of things from multiple personality disorder to just a non-conventional way of viewing herself. By chance, Vanessa's friend Felicia, developed empathic powers. As an experiment, Vanessa let the girl read her mind. "There's someone else in there!" Felicia had exclaimed. The two girls got permission to travel to Paragon City on their own so Felicia could register her powers and become a hero. While walking through Atlas Plaza, they passed Sunstar who called them over and questioned them. Vanessa doesn't remember much about what was said but the conversation resulted in her registering as a hero as well, a Peacebringer to be specific.
