Her Story

Cretia's parents were Demi-Human Anthropologists, which is to say they studied the socio-biological reality of the many Demi-Human, Sub-Human, and Humanoid races that abound in the world, with a focus on pre-Atlantean ethnobiology. At a young age, Cretia moved with her parents from the seas of the Shining City to the shores of the Amazon in the Jungles of South America. They were there to study the ancient race of scaly sub-Mer "fish men" discoverd by Humans in the 1950's and left to their own devices until her parents sought them out. Living with them for many years and for much of her childhood, Cretia traveled back to Atlantis from time to time for schooling and to "Vacation" away from her parents study. It was from the Amazonian race that she learned tolerance for others and to rise above impatience with ignorance and give knowledge rather than condem a lack thereof.

Growing into adolescence, she began study of an ancient form of magic, that only the eldest of the Amazonian race practiced, which she showed a natural affinity for. Not until adulthood did she successfully realize her potential, and had long left the tribal community that had instructed her in those arts, but the lessons were learned and she transcribed them into a personal book of shadows, from wich she still studies to this day.

Cretia eventually left her parents for good in their lifelong study of the Amazonians, striking out on her own and investigating, back in and surrounding areas of Atlantis, the many races that swam below the surface of the great seas. After the foul plot and answering Leviathas's call to arms, as many Atlanteans, Cretia has decided to stay in the world above. Learning about the world of Heroes and the many races that congregate and are drawn to Paragon City, Rhode Island (sadly not an actual island) She continues to show the earthwalkers that there is much to be learned from the often underestimated rulers of 3/4ths of the world, the empire of Atlantis. Cretia is eager to be a Shining Example to the lost and ignorant of the world.

After Cretia Blaq of the House L'gune came to Paragon City as many of the loyal Atlanteans and fought by the side of the newly crowned King Leviathas, she began to grow aware of her lack of martial prowess in battle. Though quite proud of her Aquamancy and her abilities as a Battle Mage, she realized that she could only benifit from elnargin her repretoire of skills.

To this end Pandora'lai has begun training her in the art of the twin daggers, tools she is familiar with in her spellwork already. Also, though Cretia is already quite proficient in the art of controling her foes and healing her allies through the water in their bodies with her Aquamancy, she is now learning to bend the ambient water into a protective aura, and to steel her own body with such arts against attacks in battle. Cretia is happy to study, improve her battle magics,a nd begin again with new skills. She hopes to be as versitle as the water.

Physical Attributes

Cretia is marked by an extremely uncommon haircolor for her Mer Race, that of a shade of Purple, which she wears short. Her skin is in the paler range of Azure for her people, her eyes of common enough Green, deepset and soulful. She is of healthy althletic buid, wide of hip, and average of breast. Almost tall for women, she usually stands at least as high if not higher than an average Mer Woman.

Abilities

Is increasingly adept at Aquamancy, utilizing the universal presence of water on this planet and in the bodies of her friends or foes to hinder, harm, or heal. Has also delved into the alternate path of Aquamancy that can crystalize elemental water out of the very air to attack her enemies. Is proficient in the art of Apparation, the ability to trans-locate from one place to another, and to draw others to her. Cretia is often training to increase her stamina, constitution, and speed.

Equipment

Carries her beloved Blaqwand Trident, given to her by her father, Gillmin, who himself recieved it from the "Cheif" of the Amazonian Sub-Merfolk race as a sign of respect and honour. Also has a custom "Battle Mage" armour, fashioned at her request to give what protection she can have while taking into consideration her limitations of spellcasting during battle. Recentally Cretia was given a pair of matched daggers from an Atlantean who began training her in their use. She does not always carry these on her person, but she has them readily availible in times of need. The same is true of her new armour, more suited to her twin dagger style. It along with her daggers are ready for her to take from the Temple at a moments notice.

Limitations

Due to Cretia's extended time during her formative years with her parents in the Amazon spent with the Sub-Merfolk race, she has little of the stoic nature that marks her breatheren. Her outgoing and freespeaking nature allows her to be at ease amongst new peoples, nations, or races. Amongst her own people she is at a disatvantage at times, being quiet or reserved when meeting Atlanteans she has yet to make an aquantance of. Fearing to show her unacustomness to proper Atlantean decorum limits her initially in her interactions. Alternately she can seem boysterous and ready to adopt the mannerisims of those she meets, regardless of how it will be percieved by her own people, leading to her having the appearance of wildly changing attentions or moods.
