Appearance
Dark Max was born a healthy child with dark hair and eyes. However, during his many years in the Netherworld, his exposure to Dark Matter, and his repeated passing through the Darkness Dimension while teleporting, Max's melanin, while still providing UV protection, has turned white. Consequently, turning his skin and eyes to an ivory white color. Standing 6'6" tall and weighing 260lbs with only 4% body fat, Dark Max cuts an imposing figure.
Enhanced Strength, Speed, and Reflexes
Due to mutagenic changes in his body as a result of his many years in the Netherworld realm, the exposure to Dark Matter, and repeated demonic possession, Dark Max possesses superior strength, speed and reflexes far above those of an ordinary human. Dark Max can lift (press) approximately 450 pounds while his legs can press approximately 800 pounds under optimal conditions. With a lifetime of fighting in the demon pits, Dark Max is capable of generating a tremedous amout of power in his punches. Dark Max's speed and reflexes is several times faster of most gifted athletes, particularly his hand speed which he uses to great effect when punching.
Training
Magical History & Lore
Dark Max had been trained since an earlier age about magical artifacts and books from the Chief Librarian of the Midnighters Club. By the time of his abduction at the age of 12, Max had shown extraordinary knowledge of magical artifacts and tomes far above even some adult Midnighters.
Boxing
Dark Max since the age of eight years old, Max had received one-on-one instruction from the former bare-knuckle brawler, Jack "the Hammer" Finnegan. By the time he was 12 years old, Max could stand his ground even with an adult. Max's boxing style was characterized by lightning fast hook combinations to overwhelm his opponent.
Powers
Dark Max has the ability to draw a strange ebony energy called ‘Dark Matter’ from the ‘Darkness Dimension’. The Darkness Dimension is a plane of existence that touches and is intertwined throughout many dimensions and planes including the Netherworld dimension. Dark Matter is a near sentient energy that permeates the Darkness Dimension and is responsive to manipulation by those who have the ability to control it. Dark Max’s ability to communicate with the Dark Matter occurs on multiple levels magically, psychically, and genetically.

Darkness Melee
Dark Max can draw forth the Dark Matter to infuse his hands with energy adding significantly to the already considerable punching power he posseses. Due to the Dark Matter, Dark Max is largely immune to damage to his hands even when he punches hard, immovable objects or entities. For example, given time, Dark Max can break through ferro concrete walls and steel.
Darkness Channeling
Dark Max can channel Dark Matter to create a field of darkness in his general vicinity for a variety of effects. The Dark Matter has the ability to slow inertia and deflect energy acting as a form of armor protection for Dark Max. Dark Max can also use the Dark Matter to provide concealment making it diffcult to detect him. In response to Dark Max’s intent, people touched by the Dark Matter feel numbing cold, crippling fear, and sometimes see disturbing visions. Unprotected overlong exposure to the Dark Matter can drive people insane. Should Dark Max desire it, he can use the Dark Matter to siphon an entity’s life force for his consumption. When Dark Max absorbs an entity’s life force, it diminishes his fatigue, heals his wounds, and maintains his youthful vigor. It is this ability that has led the Midnighters to classify Max as a psychic life force vampire.
Darkness Teleportation
Dark Max can teleport by entering the Darkness Dimension, moving a short distance within it and emerging back on Earth a great distance from his point of origin. A span of miles on Earth can be traversed in only a few steps via shortcuts through the Darkness Dimension. Dark Max can teleport other persons or objects along with himself in this fashion. Furthermore, if Dark Max is in the presence of person long enough, he is able to remember each person’s psychic signature and permit Dark Max to teleport these people to his presence over vast distances. Because of the energy dampening effect of Dark Matter, when Max emerges from the Darkness Dimension after teleporting, he is temporarily weightless with no inertia for a few seconds. For example, Dark Max can dive off the highest building in Paragon City teleporting moments before impact a few feet away to land lightly on his feet with all the falling kinetic energy dampened by the Dark Matter. When Dark Max teleports, black wispy tendrils of Dark Matter accompanies him that has a slight smell of charcoal and phosphorous before dissapating.
Personality
Dark Max tends to be very serious and well guarded when it comes to his feelings. Dark Max has a dominating personality and is frequently on the look out for more females to join his harem. Dark Max is in full control of his emotions and rarely has any emotional outburst. Dark Max enjoys 'the hunt' of women and navigating the strategic hurdles of a woman's emotions to secure them as his pet. Dark Max recognizes that only certain women have it in them to be submissive pets. Dark Max enjoys the process of 'training' those women who could make excellent pets but don't know it yet.
Employment
Upon his return to the earthly plane, Max discovered that his family's estate was held in trust by the Midnighters Club. The estate amounted to millions of dollars. In addition to this trust, Dark Max has parlayed his affinity towards magical artifacts and books to be come an antique dealer and "a purveyor of magical artifacts and tomes."
