An aquatic based mutant that came to Paragon City to start a new life as a super powered defender of justice. Deeptide uses her power over water, along with her ability to manipulate the very toxins that course naturally through her body to great effect in her fight against evil.
The Early Years
Even when Rowana was born, the signs of her being a mutant were always present. Back then, her skin shimmered in light like a fishes scales, and she had the most rudimentary of control over her latent powers. Sometimes making the water faucet spit wildly when her mother was cleaning, just to entertain her young, infant mind. As the years progressed in her life, she started to experiment with her talents more and more, getting a better feel for them. Her mother and father never minded the practice she did with her powers in her free time, and it wasn't until the age of six that a visit to the doctor for a routine checkup revealed the copious amounts of poison that were coursing in her veins. On that day, her parents truly showed signs of concern for their little girl. Not because her body was coursing with poison, but because they knew there was nothing truly wrong with her. It took a long time, speaking to, and eventually even bribing their doctor to stay silent about what he'd discovered about Rowana.
As she grew older, Rowana became more and more of a tom boy. Though she did wear skirts, she'd often have tee shirts and baseball caps on to complete her attire, and she'd often times get into fights with the other local children, some of the fights she even started herself. It wasn't until High School that she became more introverted. Many students were afraid of her because she always picked fights with people, and she certainly wasn't the type to hang around the 'popular' kids unless she was looking for excuses to start taking swings at them. So, for much of her High School years, she was more or less a loner, with only a few friends here and there, still practicing her powers in private when she wasn't doing school work or getting into fights (against her mothers wishes). Finally the day came that she graduated. It was on that day, she immediately packed waht belongings she had and announced to her parents that she was going to move to Paragon City to become a Superhero.
