Powers

Colm possesses rudimentary innate psychic abilities which, for the most part, anyone with a modicum of willpower can resist. However, this unassuming talent is the backbone for Delver's truly dangerous abilities. The modified Superadine he has been provided with amplifies his abilities significantly, allowing him to identify an individual's fears or phobias and torment his target with them, driving them cower in fear, defenselessly freeze or possibly lash out at what they perceive to be a threat.

Over time Colm has realised that higher doses of Superadine further enhances his powers for a brief time, allowing him to mentally dominate even the most dangerous targets. However he has experienced increasingly volatile side effects. How he copes with these and how they impact his powers remains to be seen.

History

Delver is a relatively recent addition to the Rogue Isles though Colm McCann, the man behind the mask (helmet really), has been based in St. Martial since he was 14 when his mother moved their small family from Ireland. At this point, his mother was never truly in the picture again - typically leaving Colm on his own to fend for himself. As a foreigner in the isles, Colm went through his life skirting the fringes of society, getting by through a touch of luck, a bit of chat and a dash of (admittedly minimal) psychic powers. He went through life this way, honing his craft for doing as little as possible to make a bit of money and eventually developing a knack for using his psychic powers to fish for the salacious details from the patrons of the Golden Giza.

He'd have happily continued this way if it weren't for a man who offered Colm something more - genuine power - at the low cost of information and casual reliance on Superadine and all that the addiction entailed. The chemicals were altered and refined through an additional process designed to enhance an individuals innate powers, serving to supplement Colm's natural psychic gifts. The man had a plan for Colm, directing him to implant himself into the group known as the Conclave and gather information on their movements and members. As long as Colm did this, the man promised that the Superadine shipments would continue and Colm could carry out any other jobs he pleased.

The Conclave

Following the instructions of his benefactor, Delver found his way into the employ of The Conclave, a shadowy group of villains loosely working together for their own mutual benefit and began his work; he was to document the members, their movements and goals of the group. Colm vigorously took to his job, endearing himself to Dr. Pain, the apparent figurehead of the ogranisation and forming a strange partnership and eventual friendship over time. Despite his rather haphazard approach to problem solving and a tendency to make dangerous situations somehow more dangerous, Dr. Pain recognised Delver's tenacity (and reliance on hazardous chemicals), promoting him to a position within the Officers.

Throughout his time with The Conclave, Colm's contact continued to supply him with the refined Superadine and a constant stream of specific and increasingly dangerous missions to lead member's of the organisation through. It was on these missions that Colm gathered the most comprehensive information regarding The Conclave. He was able to form a competitive friendship with Lotus Slaying Light, a being seemingly transported from an alternate dimension who is obsessed with amassing power, a cause with which Colm readily relates to; he witnessed the uncanny results of Dr. Pain's experiments on emotion; He observed Dead Drop in action, a hit-man with deadly psychic abilities; He saw the All of this information he documented and passed along to his employer.

While he never questioned his employers motives, the scale and danger present on these missions began to shift his view that, just perhaps, his mysterious benefactor did not actually have Colm's best interests at heart.

Recently, Colm has found himself at odds with Lady Argiope, one of the Inner Conclave within the group due to what he views as a minor misunderstanding. Colm (rather helpfully he would argue) showed Mistress Demise throughout the Conclave's base, inadvertently bringing her to an object known as a Soul Stone. In a rather unfortunately turn of events for Colm, Demise was not actually a current member of the group, leading to a disciplinary hearing regarding what was referred to as 'his careless actions' and assigned to menial tasks throughout the groups base of operations.

The Shattered Seven

While completing his clean up tasks, Colm stumbled upon some rather peculiar graffiti sprayed upon the side of Fancy Firavel's Nightclub. Upon inspecting it, he experienced what he could only describe as a Superadine hallucination of shadowy figures amassing and growing in strength. He had seen worse, more worrying visions in the past, so it wasn't what he saw that interested Colm. His true interest in this vision was the simple fact - Colm had not taken any Superadine. He simply shouldn't have experienced the hallucination when he saw that graffiti.

Keen to get to the bottom of the matter, Colm recently kidnapped a renowned researcher of psychic phenomena to understand how the tag triggered his abilities.
