Medic

Raymond Brooks enlisted to the Navy to serve his country and his countrymen as a field medic with the USMC, shortly after his enlistment Desert Storm had begun and was shipped out to Iraq. His natural ability of observations served him well, giving him a knack for quickly and accurately diagnosing the wounded that would be brought in to the Mobile Army Surgical Hospital that he was assigned to. He saved many life and limb during his tours in Iraq. His service didn't go unnoticed getting acclaim from the Red Cross, despite being associated with a military unit.

Returning stateside he completed his degrees in neurology and psychology with a Doctorate(of Psychology) and a Masters(of Science: Neurology) at the University of Maine. He joined the many doctors in his home city of Bangor, Maine to start his practice and became one of the premier neurologist and psychologist in town. His ability to not only heal and repair the brain, he also was able to rehabilitate the mind of the affect patients. The success rate of his patients were always off the charts, making him a highly sought after doctor. Managing the large number of patients were never easy, but it was something he enjoyed, giving people a new lease on life or making a life so that they could live "normally".

End of Practice

Things had been going well for many years since he started his practice, a few odd cases had started to appear from Paragon City, RI. At first they seemed as if they were any usual case of a brain or mental damage, but as he delved farther into each of these cases the stranger it became. A spore like substance in the brain had started to appear in the CAT scans of these particular patients. Fortunately they were not contagious, but it did not make it any less uncomfortable about the current situation with the patients. Eventually, there seemed to be a breakthrough with one in a psychology session.

The patient had been mumbling, "You pry too much."

"Well, I am a doctor and I am here to help," Raymond said.

"It's too late for me, but the being has said that it's far from over."

"The being," Raymond asked, "What do you mean?"

"Hamidon," the patient said, "...the seeds, stabbed in the lungs..." He opens his button down shirt showing the scar where he had been pierced, underneath his skin it looked as if there were moving veins, but they were the sprouts of the seeds moving through him. "...and now you will be..." the patient said in his last breath, green stalks burst through his chest hitting Raymond in the left lung, grabbing the vine with all his might trying to pull it out, something dropped into his respiratory system. "Fuck..." he said, one of the few times he ever cursed. Thankfully it was late, he could be the last one to leave the hospital office. He administered a steroid into his lungs, hopefully it would by him some time to transport the remaining patients back to Paragon. He felt he had no choice, he couldn't let anyone else become infected or let the public know of this, because of the possible wide spread panic that could in-sue. Taking whatever this "Hamidon" thing is back to its source, maybe he could find help.

The Doctor Is In

The years where he had been missing he was able to stop the seedlings and remove them from his body, but his appearance has changed and added abilities augment the new Raymond Brooks, Diagnose. There is no flesh that remains on his face, only around his neck to keep his skull from falling off, but all of his internal organs are still there and his mind is still as sharp as before. He no longer has light skin tone, but has been replaced with a green amphibious textured skin. The black marking on the upper half of his body spew clouds of black soot, but no one has ever seen this version of Raymond, only himself.

The added abilities to go with his appearance are blasts of radiation that he can emit from his hands and eyes, also the black soot that spew from his black markings activate nightmarish subconscious manifestation into the physical world. He uses a body encasement, much like that of Positron, but to conceal his appearance, not to protect himself from everyone else. At least Raymond did not have the Rikti make him harmful to society.

It has been four years since the incident. Dr. Raymond Brooks can be found residing in the Rogue Isles as a consultant for Black Heart Memorial Hospital in Cap Au Diable. He doesn't look much different than before, just a little older from the stress of four years ago. Though that's just the facade, the prosthetic skin comes in handy so he can still interact with patients and work with the general public.
