The Incident
Once upon a time, there was a little boy by the name of "Lil GeeGee Z." While not the most popular child in the orphanage he grew up in... In fact, he was down-right picked on for being strange, quiet and a loner... Gerard grew up pretty normal, so it would seem. Lil Gerard was a bright young lad, too. Even though he had a sweet tooth for fictional comic books and television cartoons, Gerard knew of the wonders of books and the stories they held. Little did he know that his story would begin with his nose in a book... Literally. The usual group of bullies rounded the corner, a few years ahead of our 12 year old Gerard. As they happened upon our hero, intently reading his book, they took it upon themselves to shove the poor boy's head into the book and slam it shut. Little Gerard had no idea what happen next. After the pain of the book closing upon his nose, he hardly remembers anything... Except a whisper. A little voice in his head, before he blacked out. It only said this:
"Hi."
The next thing Gerard remembers is being covered, almost head to toe, in blood. The bodies of his tormentors lay before him, mangled in shapes that were impossible for the human body to make without breaking a few bones. The most horrifying part? They were still alive and struggling. They had no voices. Their tongues and vocal cords had been, psionically, severed from the inside. He felt his eyes burning as he watched the boys laying in front of him, attempting to scream. All that came out were the rasps and silent cries of three little boys in pain. Gerard was horrified. But, that voice he heard inside of his mind had returned:
"Don't worry, Gerard. They deserved it."
Gerard ran away from his orphanage, that night and made his way, first thing, to the Rogue Isles. His voice guiding him throughout his life. It taught him to steal. Kill. Never look back. To feel no remorse. It taught him put on an act. To smile. To 'make friends'. But, never to get to close. It taught him to manage his funds. To make himself rather wealthy. To live. But, the most important thing the voice in his head taught him. The thing that stuck with him and continues to stick with him, to this day:
"I'm all you need. Your father. Your mother. Your brother. Your sister. I am your lover. Your rival. I'm all you have. I am the only one that cares... And I am the only one who can take it all away."
