Most if not all of the powers of the Enlightened One can be considered natural in the sense that he is a spiritually augmented [posthuman] but not a mutant nor scientifically altered. He uses both technological gadgets and mystical artifacts; none of them are the source of his greatest powers - which is ultimately HIMSELF.
- Martial Arts
His martial arts abilities are psychically intuitive and he does not control them directly, but they react to the situation around himself to protect him from harm. In this way it can be said that he does not do violence to others - their own actions cause this.
- Regeneration
He refers to his regeneration as the "fountain of Avalokiteshvara". He has learned how to dam and release chi energy to augment his physical body and defend himself from attack. This unlike his martial arts abilities, is deliberate.
- Flight & Super Speed
The Enlightened One has mastered riding the flows of chi. The power and control of moving along the drifts from ley lines throughout the world has quickened his powers. The myo-o is made strong by the world itself.
- Void Manipulation
Not entirely present in the material world, the Enlightened One can take a bit of the power from the Netherworld and cast it towards his enemies to blind and force them back. This is a gift from the Judge of Du Yu used to remind adversaries that he is on a mission mandated by the Celestial Bureaucracy and thus they should allow him passage or suffer destruction.
- Shapeshifting
The Enlightened One can assume a avatar form showing the terrible yet glorious form of the myo-o, a ferocious yet noble protector of the Buddhist faith.
Equipment
- Powered Armor
He often wears powered armor furnished by Exarch Technologies when acting in the role of a superhero. This was built by government contract around the time of his involvement with the Freedom Factor and the deal assisted by the family of Malcom Montgomery, the other victim of the Laidlow Bank Murders. Montgomery was an executive of ET on vacation at the time. It often conceals the healing of his injuries which can end up looking very grotesque.
- Mystical Inheritance
What is not obvious is the enchanted Armor of Guan Yu he wears under his skin, that has permanently bound itself to his body's bones. When he assumes his avatar form, it replaces whatever he is wearing and can be considered part of the avatism. This was a gift to himself by one of his past incarnations, to be delivered to the latest reincarnation. It dates back to the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history.
- F.B.I. Sidearm
As a licensed member of the Federal Bureau of Superpowered Affairs (FBSA), the Enlightened One carries a Colt Single Action revolver. This was a special gift to him by Sue Roberts in the E.L.I.T.E. office for finishing his agency training. It dates back to the 1950's, the Agency as a whole having moved on to using semi-autos (and even more wonderous devices) by this time.
Weakness and Limitations:
It is not possible to kill him through normal means, but he is not invulnerable. Trapping him or holding him in restraint is quite possible, and there are greater powers that can dissipate his energies. (IE: Rularuu, the Entities.) His physical form is however vulnerable to physical attack and dissapation after which he will reform. The most convenient way of stopping him is the element most opposed to his essence - ice.
Due to his dual roles of law enforcement official and religious icon, the Enlightened One must take special care that he does not violate his federally mandated powers by virtue of his divine ones. This can prove difficult and would frustrate a lesser being, but the Enlightened finds an interesting intellectual challenge being confined in the pursuit of liberation of all sentient beings in such a manner.
