Biography
Beginnings
Lynaei was born purported daughter to Theia and Graecius, during the Golden Age of Greece. They lived in the city of Athens, and lead a not so humble existence. Graecius, a politician of some reknown and a staunch supporter of Pericles, he rose to a seat of power on the Athenian Senate. Theia was his beautiful and loving wife, adored by much of the city for her kind grace. Where Graecius was gruff and crude, Theia was always smiling and respectful, and it was said her smile could heal the sick and aid the poor. However, Theia had hidden a certain truth of their little baby.
You see, Lynaei was special. Very special. For she was not in all reality, the daughter of Theia and Graecius. She had been fathered by a far greater being, Zeus, the mighty Thunder God. Zeus had come to her in the guise of an ugly old man one morning, and he had begged Theia for a kiss, so that he may feel blessed. In her giving nature, she complied without complain, and Zeus then revealed the truth to her. What followed would lead in the coming months to the birth of none other than Lynaei.
However, within a year of the birth of Lynaei, she was suddenly taken. Without explanation, Theia's smile was seemingly burned from her face. She spent her days wailing for the return of her perfect daughter, making many a scene in Athens, and setting the public forum alight with the buzz of gossip. It would infact affect the gruff Graecius as well, leading to several outbursts at senate meetings, and his eventual disgrace at the hands of Tybus, his sworn rival on the Senate.
Tybal in a fit of foolishness, accused Graecius of inadequacy. He spoke that a man unable to stop his babe from walking out the door, is a man unfit to make decisions. Graecius was so enraged, he launched at Tybal and promptly ended his life with his own blade. Following his disgrace, Graecius had two things left. When he returned home, a disgraced and poor man, all his wife could do was sob and spill the secret of her holy tryst. Graecius raged at the Gods themselves, slaying his wife and running out into the streets to be slain by guardsmen. When his soul arrived at the underworld, he could not pay Charon. He was not afforded the honor. But strangely, he was allowed to cross the River Styx.
When he arrived within the Underworld, he was not given a punishment like others. He was not allowed to wander the Elysian Fields. Instead, he was brought before the Lord of The Dead himself, and personally handed his punishment. Hades intoned:
"YOUR PUNISHMENT SHALL BE THUS. YOU WILL SERVE OLYMPUS FOR ALL ETERNITY, AT THE SIDE OF THE DAUGHTER OF THEIA AND ZEUS. SHE WILL NEVER HEAR THE TRUTH FROM YOUR LIPS, AND YOU SHALL NEVER SPEAK IT."
Not even allowed to comment, Graecius was whisked away, to the side of a young girl sitting alone in the marbled halls of Olympus. She asked him, "Who are you?"
And all he could reply with was "Your Caretaker, Mistress."
The Home of The Gods
When Lynaei was taken from her family, she had been but a babe. Barely over a year of age, she could only observe the world with the forgetful eye of a child. Naturally, memory of her father faded, and when Graecius was brought to her side that day, mere months later for him, but years for her, her mind could not recognize him.
Her mother, however? She had heard many stories. Stories from Zeus, and Hestia. Some would say Hestia took kindly to Lyn and truly raised her, while others would say the vagrant Godling raised herself in the marbled halls of Olympus. With Graecius at her side, and the stories of Theia in her heart, her ascension to Adulthood was a happy occasion, not that all the Gods would agree.
Hera, jealous of yet another infidelity of Zeus, in the meaning of Theia, nursed a silent hatred for the little Olympian. She would be secretive of this. She would tell none. While Hestia would teach Lyn of her mother and who she was at the decree of Zeus, Hera would bring to her her own personal lessons, of the lands of Greece, and of people. Particularly, she told the story of one Petrakos.
An Olympian Plot
Petrakos, a man groomed by Hera for a certain destiny. Petrakos of Athens, a young common boy, and valiant hero. He would not fight in the arena of Athenian politics, however.
He was a Hero.
It was he who slew the Leviathan of Thanatos, a creature manifested at the request of Hera, just for the purpose of its defeat. This action would have far reaching reprocussions, unforeseen by Hera in her pettiness, and Petrakos in his ignorance. From his slaying of the creature, spawned many stories of imaginary adventures, fed to Lyn through Hera in secret. While the Gods would know the truth of Petrakos, they would not speak on it, believing it to be of so little consequence.
As Hera would feed these stories to the fertile mind of Lynaei, she would slowly be brought to an infatuation, and later, love of the man. Upon reaching adulthood as defined by Gods (A far shorter time) Lyn would begin her forays into the world of mortals.
She would spend her time posed as the humble daughter of a merchant, her minor worship allowing her to manifest herself and Graecius, quickly procuring a boat. They would travel from city to city, meeting people and hearing stories. For each city, Lyn would being about 3 miracles to whichever story touched her the most. While none would know of her involvement, minds beyond the ken of most made note of her, and eventually, there were many stories of the merchant's daughter and the blessed boat.
Eventually of course, the tales of the merchant's daughter would reach the ears of none other than Petrakos. Hearing tales of the supposedly lucky woman, he felt she would be perfect.
It would be many months, only those months thanks to the intervention of Hera, that the ships would wind up at the same port. A local festival would bring cause for a feast, and the two would meet by the side of a great pyre, amidst the chaos and debauchery of a greek celebration. Recognizing Petrakos by name and by deed, she was immediately smitten, and by the next morning, she had partaken of her supposed champion, and had loved it.
The next day, her and Petrakos set sail. Without Graecius.
Needless to say, the man was befuddled and enraged. Returned to Olympus without Lyn's power to sustain him, he immediately raged to the Gods in explanation for who this Petrakos was, having been kept in the dark. Needless to say, they explained Petrakos, and Hera's involvement. Graecius was not pleased. In fact, he was worried. The retribution of Hera was legendary. He could do nothing as the only treasure he had left was threatened and possibly extinguished by Hera.
Upon the waters, Petrakos and his crew sailed, not a care in the warrior's heart, except for his new beauty. Lovely to look at, with a kind heart, he could not ask for more. When the clouds darkened and thunder struck
Personality
Lyn is kind, almost to a fault. As the Mistress of Joy, she is always willing to help people out with whatever silly nonsensical wish they have, though her inability to say no proves to be a bit of a curse sometimes, since some people enjoy taking advantage of it. However, beneath the veneer of her title and position, she is far more human, with the ability to become angry, irritated or a host of other emotions just as easily as any mortal would.
That being said, she -is- Immortal, has been around for a very long time, and learned quite a bit about people, the world, and how everything works. It is truly a testament to her dedication that she remains the charitable person she is.

"I don't know her. Why am I here?" - Darren Astor
Because you're so amazing that you set this up. - Eternal Odyssey
"She's an alright girl. She's got some painful problems that she'll probably never tell anyone about. She tries to make everyone happy, but I don't see that happening until she's happy herself. Either way, she's still a good person, so far that I've seen. That is unless she tries to stab me with something sharp and painful." - SerasKorhadril
