Expertise's influences are:
Blade Runner: one possible reading of Blade Runner is that a spectrum exists whereby Nexus 6 characters who accept that they are artificial are shown to be physically more capable than characters who do not. At one the weaker end of the spectrum are Rachael and (possibly Deckard), who struggle in combat and take time to recover from injury. At the opposite end are Roy and Holden who accept that they are artificial and seek to overcome the limitations of such a state, both portrayed on multiple occasions as being easily physically superior to humans. Though this could be attributed to being developed for different roles, such as soldiering or hard labor, Pris appears to evolve from being physically weak until she realises she is not all that different from Sebastian's toy army.
Marcus Wright (Terminator: Salvation): Wright is considerably more competant at mimicing human behaviour because it is programmed to believe it is human, rather than aping humans in the manner of the previous Terminator models. Even upon discovering that it is not human, Wright retains its humanity, going so far as to continue to help the Resistance in spite of its programming.

Perhaps the only place in Praetoria where surveillance falls behind desperation as the most dominant social influence, Lambda Sector is a finishing school for opportunists become criminals, dissenters and violent anarchists. Drawn between opposing forces like a body on the racks are otherwise decent people, who do what they must to survive, for their children to survive. The McInernys were one such family. They 'minded' crates and knew better than to look inside. They delivered unmarked envelopes to people standing in the middle of the street. They hosted friends-of-friends who had to avoid windows or thinking about certain words. Anything to keep food on the table for their only daughter, Catherine. As all parents with hope for their children are, the McInernys struggled to keep Cate away from the same bad influences that had infected their lives. Eventually though, necessity drove the young woman into the business of working for those who could not afford to attract the attention of the Praetorian government.
At least, that is how Cate remembers it. She can recall the sensation of sun on her skin, the chemical scent of nearby foundaries, the sound of her boots on the concrete on any of those days- but none of it ever occured. Her memories are false, data programmed directly into her artificial brain, each with a subtle lesson on how to be the perfect Syndicate agent.
Worse yet, she knows it.
