Fastball Strike (also known colloquially as simply Fastball) is the alias of Jake Oliver Abernathy, a mutant Hero who is gifted with extreme speed (i.e. a Speedster) and who utilizes martial arts skills to thwart the crime and evil in Paragon City.
Early History
As if Fate had decreed his destiny, Jake Abernathy was born in Cooperstown, NY in 1987. With a normal childhood spent in the small New York village Obadiah pursued the normal activities of young men his age, which of course included playing baseball. A lot of baseball. From T-Ball to Little League Jake played, ate and slept baseball as much as he could. His parents were very supportive of this which led to more than a few college scholarship offers for Jake as his talent and skills blossomed during his latter years of high school.
Manifestation
During the spring of 2005 the Cooperstown Redskins high school baseball team, for which Jake played catcher, advanced to the New York state championship series.
