History
Dom grew up a fairly normal life in Tampa, Florida. He went to high school and was co-captain of the wrestling team. He had a girlfriend, he went to prom. The day after graduation Dom joined the Navy. This was a no brainer decision for him, as just about every male member of his family had been or was still in the United States Navy. During boot camp, he was approached by his drill instructor and was asked if he wanted to go try out for the SEALS. Thinking he had nothing to lose, he tried out, and passed.
Being a Navy SEAL was great for him. After graduating from BUDS and joining his team, Dom continued to serve for the next ten years. Then, the Rikti invaded. The world turned itself upside down almost overnight. His team was called back to the United States to help deal with the invasion. It was during this time that Dom started working with HUDU (Hostile Urban Defense Unit). HUDU was a department of the Paragon Police Department specializing in hostile urban pacification. They were developing several prototype suits of defensive armor which could be used by normal people to assist in combating the threats of the Rikti and others. Dom immediately signed up for the test program. He was put into training and was put into action as soon as possible. The armor system was nicknamed The Muther, a slang term for the TMUDA (Tactical Mobile Urban Defense Armor). This rather rudimentary prototype armor was in its growing stage and was developing issues. Originally designed as a Riot armor, the suit relied upon the users knowledge of hand to hand combat and protection was limited. The largest problems stemmed from the heat the armor generated. It would not be uncommon for the suit to randomly expel hot gasses and sparks, lighting nearby things on fire. After several instances of unintentional arson, Dom's new nickname was coined. FyreHazard. Slowly, the technicians and scientists who created the armor began modifying the suit to utilize the unintended side effect of it's heat expulsion.
The current iteration of the suit still designated as TMUDA is able to expel the heat in controlled bursts. It's primary protection is the metal that it is created out of and a state of the art riot shield. The suit still relies upon the operators combat experience, and has limited range and firepower. The helmet does contain rudimentary targeting and hud capabilities as well as communications.
After the Rikti were pushed back, Dom and his suit began working on cleaning up the mess. The PPD decided that it's urban defense unit needed to go in a different direction and funding was cut. Dom and the TMUDA suit were homeless. During the aftermath of the war, it appeared that his military records had been "misplaced" and since he was no longer working directly for the government he was discharged from the military under honorable conditions. Seeing not much else to do, he registered as a licensed Hero under the nickname FyreHazard.
Powers
Shield Defense
The TMUDA suit is designed to be used with a Tactical Defense Riot Shield. This shield is made out of a lightweight alloy frame which is nigh indestructable. The semi clear panels are made out of a lightweight plastic and metal alloy which is capable of stopping even the most powerful weaponry. The arm that the shield is attached to is reinforced with hundreds of servos that not only can take the force of an attack, but also work to redistribute the kinetic energy caused by a round hitting the shield.
Heat Expulsion
The TMUDA suit generates quite a bit of heat. This heat must be discharged periodically or the unit will shut down. Originally, the suit discharged this heat randomly into the air through vents in the back. This caused unintentional fire setting and was quite embarasing. The developers of the suit began employing the heat generation as a weapon and integrated the vents into the forearm of the non shield arm. At this point, the suit is capable of projecting the heat in a very close range via these vents to cause damage.
