Personality

Gavin is an outwardly calm, easy-going young man with a slightly strange, perhaps dark, sense of humor. At first glance, the strangest thing about him may be the fact that he's got a tail, pointy ears, and partial light blindness. But there's a darker side there too, lurking in his eyes, pacing like a caged animal waiting to be set free. The way he moves, carries himself, and fights belies a past that isn't necessarily on the up-and-up, not to mention a good deal of training in melee combat.

Powers

Gavin is not a "powered" individual in the classic sense of the word. Because of his demonic blood, however, he is naturally more stealthy and faster than most full-blooded, non-powered humans are. Instead of relying on bolts of energy or sheer brute strength, Gavin uses blades and his speed to his benefit.

Past & Present

Not much is known about Gavin, only that he was found at the age of roughly 6 years wandering the streets of a small town outside of London, and that he is a suspected orphan with no remaining extended family. The young man's strange physical traits, notably his somewhat pointed ears, tail, vision problems and abnormally fast reflexes have been attributed to possible supernatural origins, perhaps demonic. This has not yet been confirmed.

After spending short stints in various foster homes and being placed unsuccessfully with some brave families over the course of many years, Gavin was finally adopted by a young man and woman who were unable to have children of their own. A few months later, a home invasion occurred and Gavin was taken from the home along with some token valuables. Local authorities were confused by the crime, as it seemed oddly staged, and the young couple did not seem very worried about their newly adopted son, at least not to the extent that the media thought they should be. Media attention died down over the course of the next few weeks, and as the then-14-year-old's body was never found, he was assumed dead.

The individuals responsible for the home invasion delivered Gavin shortly thereafter to the German branch of a high-risk European mercenary group known as The Wolves' Teeth. A group consisting largely of underage members, the somewhat unscrupulous organization specialized in offering the unique services of young and well-trained mercenaries to the highest bidder. It is not known whether Gavin's involvement in the group was originally voluntary, but it is on record that shortly after his "recruitment", Gavin seemed to be thriving. Years of training coupled with his innate talents allowed Gavin to excel as a mercenary, reaching considerable heights in the organization before his 18th birthday. For unknown reasons, however, the young man was abruptly discharged from the organization and stripped of all rank and stature shortly after he turned 20 years of age. Rumors at the time suggested that it was a severe difference of opinion between Gavin and his mentor that led to his dismissal, with Gavin adamantly refusing to participate in certain illegal missions. An alternative theory suggests that Gavin was removed from the group for surpassing active duty age limits and his refusal to take a non-active position at that time. Either way, Gavin has cut all ties with The Wolves' Teeth mercenary organization and decided to take his life in a somewhat different direction. Why the group allowed Gavin to leave so easily is currently unknown.
