History

1942 - With the growing number of super powered individuals appearing in the news, a proposition was made to create a force capable of providing a consequence to capes and cowls who ever decide to turn against the government. Project Genesis was confidentially forged under this proposition utilizing genetic splicing to create an army of super soldiers. Project Genesis was merely entertaining the possibility of something sounding so fictitious; No one actually believed splicing favorable genes from superpowered individuals would be successful.

1945 - Dr. Lucille Stern discovered that splicing could be a reality with the help of atomic radiation. After the events in Japan, Lucille became fearful of its potential and began to destroy her research and resign, which in turn began the decline of funding for the division.

1946 - Her enraged division superior, Dr. Walter Kaiser, in desperation, tested the splice on himself, unknown to the military, within the vicinity of an atomic bomb test site. The event resulted in a success transforming Dr. Kaiser from man to god.

Kaiser revealing the test a success in an attempt to regain Genesis' funding became void as there were too many unrecorded variables; It was impossible to recreate the event. But Kaiser was offered to become a paid cape himself and govern the superpowered community from within.

1950 - Kaiser's abilities were on par with top tier supers. He had incredible strength, invulnerability, speed, flight and he eventually developed the ability to throw lightning bolts. He was christened Transcendent by a national newspaper (owned by the government) and was painted by the media as a defender against the Reds, our savior, and the only being that can withstand a nuclear explosion.

Witnessing her nightmare come to life, Dr. Stern began to develop counter-measures in the case Transcendent becomes corrupted. Kaiser had hired private investigators to keep tabs on Stern in an attempt to find the rumored backup research Stern had for Project Genesis, but instead they find Stern's Anti-Transcendent weapon. Kaiser uses this opportunity to accuse Stern to be a communist spy and terrorist, ultimately destroying Stern's reputation, having her fall from her pedestal, and forcing her underground; She had disappeared before her hearing knowing that mere accusations were enough to condemn in Red Witch Hunts.

1952 - Unknown to the investigators, the Anti-Transcendent weapon plans were a diversion; Stern really did have her backup research from Project Genesis. The only way to combat a god is to become one. Ironically, utilizing the help of Russians for an atomic supply, Lucille was able to give herself super abilities akin to Transcendent: super strength, durability, speed, flight, and retrogressed aging. Not having access to the DNA of America's finest, she wasn't as strong and had no power to control lightning, but she was able to attain the powers of a photopath and telepath.

American Intel had discovered this and believed that it could lead to a mass production of an army of Transcendents. They had secretly warranted Transcendent, officially independent of the US government, to prevent this to avoid nuclear war. This eventually led to a clash of Transcendent and who the propaganda news had dubbed, "The Red Devil," as surveillance had caught Lucille glowing red. The Red Devil had lost the battle, but was able to flee.

1966 - Lucille did her best to balance the playing field by aiding anyone that fell victim to Transcendent and the US government's secret agenda.

1982 - Lucille is thought to have died by Transcendent's record-magnitude lightning bolt, but it had left Transcendent severely weakened. Around this time, Walter Kaiser's son, Christopher is born. Walter retires as Transcendent and returns to research and development within the company he founded, Genesis.

2007 - Walter becomes contracted to create an army of super soldiers to combat the Rikti Threat. While in production, he sends his own son to aid the Vanguard; Chris becomes Transcendent II to carry on his father's legacy.

2009 - Genesis' Walter Kaiser and Styx Industries' Amon Aser join together in an effort to create not only a perfect army of supers, but ones that cannot die.

GENESIS uses the select elite to go through experimentation to further advance their abilities, and train them mentally and physically for battle readiness. They will be trained with Rikti: dialect, vehicles, weaponry, and biological weaknesses. The elite will be equipped with state-of-the-art armor, weapons, vehicles, and communications. They will be powerful, they will be disciplined, and they will be feared, and fearless.

They will be the last the Rikti will ever see.
