Origins
The man they call the Ghost of Chernobyl was born in the Soviet Union in 1973 to a family of scientist. Like most who lived under the rule of the U.S.S.R. they were content with their lot in life and were still better off than most because of his parents standing. When the Ghost was eleven years old his parents where relocated to Prypiat to work on the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The family spent almost a year in the city working on the plant before that terrible day in 1986 when the reactor exploded and the city around it was evacuated. The Ghost was separated from his family and so he did the only thing a twelve year old boy knew how to do in times of crisis. He hid. The Ghost hid in the sewers of the city and avoided the soldiers that came to evacuate the city after hearing tales of the atrocities performed by the Russian military.
When the evacuation was complete and the soldiers were certain that everyone had been removed from the area they left as well. The Ghost was left behind alone, scared, and no one at all for miles around. The radiation seeped out of the reactor and into the city, soon the Ghost became very weak and ill. He lay alone in the sewers for days before passing out completely for an extend period of time. When he awoke he was welcomed by the darkness around him as his electric torch had long since burned out. In a fit of fear he ran through the sewers, tripping and bumping through the darkness until at last he found the blessed rays of light coming from a sewer grate. He forced his way out of the dark abyss and into the abandoned city that was once his home.
The Ghost quickly realized that he did not need to eat, drink, or sleep; his body seemed to generate energy all on its own. He began to scavenge a life out of the dead city and build himself a sort of housing, although still a child and very afraid. Every once in a great while he would see soldiers wandering the city escorting scientist and relief workers and he would watch them from a distance. He was so lonely, he longed to speak with them but he was to afraid that they might hurt him. So this went on for a long while as he watched from the abandoned buildings and from the sewers.
Years passed before something finally changed in the Ghost's life. He was a young adult and by now he had finally given into the soul crushing lonely world he lived in. When the soldiers and scientist were doing their work around the city and taking their samples, the Ghost walked out of the building he had been hiding in. He no longer cared about what might happen to him as it couldn't be much worse than what he had been living. The government personel were shocked to see what had become a legend to people of the area walk out in front of them. People had always spoken of the ghost - of a young man who walked the ground of Prypiat - but everyone had thought it was just that: A ghost. Not a living breathing human being. How could someone possibly survive that long without any protection, food, or water?
The soldiers took the boy to a military base in Siberia for testing and examination. They poked and prodded the poor young man and kept him isolated. The nightmare he had thought was over was just made worse by bringing himself out of hiding, he was still alone but now without his freedom. The Ghost waited and endured through the many treatments and experiments before one day he was left completely alone. Then the next day came and again no one came to his cell. Then a week passed. Then a month. The Ghost decided that he had waited long enough and using his powers he managed to break free of his cell into the now abandoned facility. He ran for his life through the empty base not knowing when someone may come to seal him away once again.
Now, the Ghost has appeared in Paragon City after many years and seems to have taken fondly to the roll of a hero. He doesn't speak much and doesn't seem to like people paying attention to him but he is never far from a crowd and always watching people as they talk and laugh, enjoying life to the fullest.
OOC
I have been away from the game for a decent amount of time now and I am looking for a new RPSG to join. I am open to most any theme and could really use a new group of people to play with, my ideal group would be smaller and newer, giving me a chance to actually become apart of the group rather than just the new guy. This is my attempt to get back into the game and this character will be my main for RP purposes.
If I have found a group but have not updated this page I am still looking for people to build IC relationships with. Friend or enemy, either way is fine by me.
