Gloomboy is a hero very much in the making. Struggling more with is own hormones than with bad guys, he's always got one eye on the girls and the other on his homework.

Personality
Superpowers do not maketh the man, and Gloomboy is very much the personification of this saying. If such a saying were to be used. At the mercy of his hormones he hopes that being a Superhero will bag him fame, glory, and most notably "Tons of really smoking hot chicks".
David, however, is very self concious. Were it not for his Superpowers he would be otherwise quite normal, shy and reserved. When not being obnoxious and ogling women, David is a very considerate and remarkably bright person. Unfortunately very few people see this side of him, especially when wearing his Gloomboy costume.
Powers
Gloomboys powers come from the Gloomstone. Containing one hundred thousand angry, evil souls, the stone uses their power for good in the hope that one day each and every one of them will be redeemed and allowed in to the heavens.
Dark Miasma
Gloomboy can channel the positive energy of the souls to draw healing energy, slow, and create intense fear in his foes. He is also able to tap in to the spirit world and trap a foe within it. However this takes extreme concentration and is something David is very fearful of, using it only in extreme circumstances.
Dark Blast
Channeling the Anger of the souls, Gloomboy can manipulate their dark energies to damage foes, often reducing their ability to defend themselves after being hit. With extreme concentration he is able to call forth lesser demons to hold his foes in to place for a short time.
Character History
David received the Gloomstone on his 16th birthday, launching his Super Hero career. A gift from his Uncle, the former Gloom-Man, it was his hope that David could continue the work he had done in his lifetime.
The Gloomstone houses approximately 100 thousand evil souls. An artifact pre-dating most historical records, the Gloomstone has been passed from generation to generation, each doing their part to help the trapped souls find redemption and a place in the heavens. It is unclear how many have used the power of the Gloomstone, but it is likely that David Montague will not be the last to weild it's powers.
Shortly after coming in to posession of the Gloomstone, David found that it had cracked. Calling his Uncle revealed that the Gloomstone was in need of repair, and would repair itself if a powerful psychic or clarevoyant could placate the souls long enough for the stone to heal. David found a powerful psychic by the name of Elysienne. It was thought that she had completed her task, however while in her care and during the healing process, one of the souls escaped. While the Gloomstone is still operative, it is considerably less powerful and the lost soul must be found in order for the remaining souls to continue their journey to redemption.
The magical hero Necrophidian has located the lost soul, but no plan has been, as of yet, forumlated for its capture.
