Character Description
Gloryman thinks of himself as a hero -- not just a superhero, but a divine soldier of God whose actions are mandated by providence. In reality, he fits much more easily into the definition of supervillain -- he kills those who he deems to be sinners, and is intent on destroying all secular institutions as well as most religious organizations. His goal is to overthrow all world governments in order to create a global Christian theocracy in preparation for the return of Jesus Christ.
Gloryman's Secret Origin
Timothy Hammonds was born with the power to create and control fire. Raised in a commune as the messianic figure of an evangelical cult, he learned quickly and was ordained as a priest by age 12. Using his powers to fight "evil" and spread his beliefs, Father Timothy Hammonds became known to the outside world as the superhero Gloryman.
As his powers increased, so too did his faith. Gloryman became increasingly harsh in his treatment of criminals -- going beyond simply halting their crimes and turning them over to authorities. He felt that he was divinely chosen to punish sinners. The beloved and peaceful Gloryman is no more, he now acts as the wrath of God incarnate, raining fire and brimstone upon those he considers enemies of God.

Gloryman is able to generate and control flames. This ability seems to be linked, at least somewhat, to the strength of Gloryman's convictions, as there seems to be a correlation between Gloryman's fervent zeal and the heat of his flames.
Costume
Gloryman's costume is white with a golden cross's intersection at his chest, the rest of it stretching across and onto his arms, and the longer portion extending down the inner portion of his legs to his boots. The same pattern is repeated on his back.
There is the obvious problem of Gloryman's pyrokinetics burning away any clothing he wears. The Gloryman costume, however, is completely fireproof -- even the cape.
