Subject Name: Gianna Meredith
Alias: "Gold Chain"
Born: 1985

Gianna Meredith is originally a resident of the Talos Island district of Paragon City. She was a perfectly average, blond haired, blue eyed girl until her freshman year at Talos High. She began to manifest superficial mutations. The golden hair that had earned her the nickname "Goldie" shifted to a bright red, and fair skin quickly turned green. In spite of this, in a city filled with people who looked weird, acted funny, or could do the most unusual things, she was mostly accepted. She successfully tried out for the school swim team ("Go, Tidals!") and continually placed first at her meets.

Her success, however, was scrutinized. Though her quick starts could probably be attributed to a dim precognition that even she wasn't aware of at the time, she was repeatedly chosen for "random" drug testing on suspicion of Superadine. She was becoming disillusioned with her coach and the school staff, but the breaking point came when her parents began to suspect the same thing. Gianna threw her next meet, refusing to budge even from the starting block until the last competitor had finished, walked out of the meet and never went home.

Gianna fell in with a small street gang running minor medical and electronics heists for the Freakshow for cash. She proved herself to be an excellent shot with a pistol, even blindfolded (again, likely due to the dim precognition), and the group adopted the name "Trick Shots" and fell to her as the de facto leader.

The strings of robberies continued until they set their sights on an equipment shipment headed for a hidden Crey lab in Founders Falls. Gianna's uncanny ability to hit things she wasn't looking at drew their attention even more than the fact that she'd just made off with several hundred thousand dollars worth of experimental prototypes. Before the next night, a hit squad of Paragon Protectors was dispatched to capture her and eliminate the remainder of Trick Shots with almost no spin required.

While in captivity, Gianna was (again) subjected to testing for the presence of Superadine, both for its mere presence and a wild hunch that she might be producing it naturally. Given the complete absence of the drug, she was put under psychological stress to attempt to induce a troll-like rage. This proved far more successful than the researchers could have hoped. The rage seemed permanent and focused on whatever was placed directly in her sight. The only means found that could subdue her would be to blindfold her, but even then she held a coherent contempt for her captors. They also grafted an experimental, detachable claw base into their subject's wrists, finding that it didn't take long at all for her nervous system to adapt to the control mechanism for both the retracting and detaching functions

The researchers determined that they had gathered all that would be useful from their subject and released her into a random part of the city. Her restraints and blindfold removed, she instantly went into a "blind" rage. A string of dismembered corpses, citizen and hero alike, was left across several blocks before she was finally subdued and placed into solitary confinement in Ziggursky Penitentiary.

Gianna's current moniker of "Gold Chain" was not adopted until well after her flight from Ziggursky to the Rogue Isles. With little more than torn pieces of her prisoner's jumpsuit to fashion a blindfold from, she kept the gold chains from a jewelry heist to help secure them over her face and keep others from trying to remove the blindfold. Since then, Gold Chain has made a point of keeping whatever golden links she comes across to string about herself wherever she can.

Gold Chain styles herself as a "contract professional" in the Isles, taking whatever work comes her way that anyone else has the conscience and the money to not do themselves. She has recently ended a long-term agreement with the Starkweather Association, though the exact details of that contract will likely remain a closely guarded secret.

Warning: Do not remove any covering present over her eyes. Subject is known to lose all self-control violently against anything she physically sees. She may perceive things through the dim precognition she possesses, but this is only speculation.

Appendix: As of August 26th, this person has been missing for several months. Though no body has yet been found, a certificate of death was issued at the request of several close confidants.
