History
Kenneth Goldman was a child prodigy in the area of Archaeological studies specifically where it concerned ancient and cryptomystical texts. Growing up poor in Galaxy city though limited his options. He finally made enough money to open his own lab and started doing contract work for whoever need an artifact deciphered.
When Ken was invited to the prestigious Archeology conference being held in Skyway City he was understandably excited but when he was kidnapped by Arachnos soldiers on the way things began to add up. The grant four years ago to advance his mystical translation efforts, the phony invite to the conference, the strange visitors to his dingy little lab in Galaxy.
Ken was taken to a portal site and told that he would enter with a team and retrieve the contents of the tomb either in whole or in part and return. Kenneth was to provide translation and guidance though the tomb. The minute he entered the portal it became clear that this was nothing that could be found on earth though. The alien inscriptions were very difficult to work with and his surly team mates did nothing to help. Still his talent did not fail him and he started to understand that the tomb was a ceremonial tomb to one of the alien races deities.
He led the team deeper and deeper into the tomb and cleverly used the clue sand hints there to keep himself safe and lose one teammate after another. Until there was only himself and the team leader left.
They finally found the burial room and there was a small golden statuette amongst the many scrolls books and casks. The Leader demanded he grab the most important pieces and exit with him. Kenneth, entirely out of tricks by now, grabbed the Golden Statuette and brought it down on the head of the Leader knocking him senseless.
The blood on the base of the statue revealed an inscription of how to activate the power of the old god. And then the tomb started to collapse. Kenneth ran for his life but soon it became clear that he would not be able to make it out. In a desperate move he activated the statue and was transformed into the Golden Avatar.
With his newfound power he was able to escape the collapsing tomb and fight his way out of the portal freeing himself from the grasp of Arachnos.
Powers
Flight
Golden Avatar can fly at approximately 60 miles per hour and maintains an unstable slip-style hover that renders his flight less effective for fine operations and very controlled movements. This flight phenomena defies physical examination producing no thrust effects or other measurable disturbances. There some small psychic disturbance but most psychics agree that it does not feel like telekinesis. When asked to describe flight to a group of delegates from alternate worlds gathered in Paragon he responded “Well…it beats walking.”
Entropy Touch
His touch can produce an entropy effect, disrupting magics and any sort of ordered system such as a nervous or electrical system. This effect presents as a darkening of the air around Golden Avatar's hands. It is produced at will and in living organisms can produce some slight disorientation. The effect has become less noticeable since Avatar has gain more control over it but the visible effect is always present. S.E.R.A.P.H researcher, Fred Wilkes described the effect as a “spectral event horizon of entropic continuity” but later admitted “that really doesn't mean anything though”
Ghost Touch
Since he exists in a variety of dimensions at once he can touch beings who are generally insubstantial such as ghosts and spirits. He can enter and exit multiple dimensions with discrete parts of his body. In combat he uses this to strike a target from many different directions at once. This effect presents as a series of different hands entering the plane of this dimension from different angles centered on Golden Avatar's form.
Spirit Slip
He can also enter any of a multiple of dimensions whole body. But he cannot sustain this state for more than a few instants. In this state he is removed from the time and spatial constraints of him normal physical plane. He describes it as a sliding sensation and indeed when he exits the whole body multiphase state he is up to 160 yards away. He uses this to increase his travel capacity but admits that it can “tire a body out”.
Self Healing
His golden form repairs itself with astounding speed, a power that has not yet reached it peak and is still growing strongly. This effect can be invisible but during combat or times of stress it can be seen as a star shaped effluence of energy. There is no projected limit to this ability and it is theorized by M.A.G.I. advisors that he could recover from the destruction of a majority of his physical form.
Strength of Many
He can draw a few of his multidimensional facets into himself and become much more resilient and resistant to mortal damage or he can draw all of his existent selves inward to become incredibly tough and healing almost instantly. This is not a natural state for Avatar and he cannot maintain it for more than a few minutes. It is also rather tiring requiring a period of rest before it can be attempted again. Even in this condition he is not impervious to harm, just more resistant with his regenerative ability greatly increased.
Stare of the Abyss
Avatar can touch other peoples fates but he can also open himself and his spirit up to their fates allowing them to see the deity that sleeps in him. He briefly diverts the line of their fates through his own and the result has been described as horrifying beyond measure. A captured skull had this to say about the experience.
“Ahh bu..ahu bu ah bu AAGHH!! Abububbaaa AGGH!”
Fate Sight
Golden Avatar can see the line of a persons life including such things as fond wishes, desperate hopes and desires as well as actual events and turning points of a persons life. He calls this seeing their fates. Because the very nature of fate is chimerical he cannot necessarily tell if what he is seeing is the past or the future or just a desperate hope of the person. Sometimes the “sight” does not produce images at all but sensations, scents or memories of from Avatars life that are analogous to the same experiences in the stream of a persons fate. Avatar cannot “turn off” this power and so he sees the fates of everyone he sees. He can be quite disturbed by people with exceptional bad or evil fates. Because he has a mortal mind he could theoretically be disabled entirely by being in the presence of a horrible enough fate.
Hands of Fate
Because of his multidimensional existence and close ties with the alien deity he can also touch peoples fates radically changing them at the moment they are handled. He can pull pieces of their fate away making the being feel depressed or defeated while increasing his own vitality with the stolen fate. Theoretically he could remove a persons fate altogether ripping it away from their being and leaving them a dead husk. Avatar has never done this. Along this theory there is also the possibility that he could learn to “fix” a persons fate. He has never been able to accomplish this effect.
Fate feedback
Avatar’s skin seems to be a shining gold but anyone touching him will experience some facet of their fate in the form of a bodily sensation. Just like everyone has a different fate, each being receives a different sensation from their fate. Some have described an incredibly safe and happy feeling while others have said that it was glorious and wild. People with evil or horrible fates have described feelings of anger or desperation infusing their souls at his touch. Because the feedback seems to fuel whatever derangements a person might have it is only rarely debilitating to anyone. Although some people have had very emotional reactions the feedback usually seems to be positive for the person receiving it.
Great Strength
Golden Avatar has enough physical strength to lift and manipulate around 30 tons bare handed. Avatar makes a concerted effort not to over use his raw strength preferring to use intelligence and skill when he can. He is always gentle with people and avoids handling things the are overly fragile.
Hobbies
Golden Avatar enjoys long walks on the beach, Pina Colatas and getting caught in the rain.
He also enjoys his former job as a crypto-mystical translation expert.
Avatar enjoys Karaoke and is a fair singer. He favors eighties songs and feels that the addition of a smoke machine and lasers to the act would be a major asset.

Personality
I’m a joker…
Golden Avatar looks imposing and powerful but he often come off as a bit of a joker. He makes wisecracks and likes to make people laugh. His clowning hides a deeper disturbance though. He sees the fate of everyone around him and on some level he feels that it is somehow an invasion of their privacy but he can’t turn the sight off. He makes his jokes and goofs around to take his own mind off the images and sensations in the fates of others that he feels he has no right to see.

Avatar is a good guy. He is kind and modest and generous and loving. He is gentle with people and wants nothing more than to help those around him. This too is indicative of a former guilt. Before he got the power of an ancient alien deity he worked for some bad people decrypting their scrolls and arcane text. He was poor and desperate for money but he also knew the caliber of his clients, Skulls, Hellions, Circle mystics. He half imagines that some of those dangerous scrolls are floating around out there right now. He holds himself secretly responsible for some of the misery in Paragon.
But seriously folks…
Despite the fact that Golden Avatar is driven by a complex white knight syndrome, he has a gritty will that seldom sees the light of day. But when it does show up, it often surprises others with its ruthlessness and determination. In a physical confrontation with Widow Cross he subdued her most ungently. When Widow Cross briefly held his family hostage he promised her that if she made him sacrifice his family he could find some people who would be happy to crack her mind open like an egg and soak out every secret Arachnos even put in there. But when she relented and let his family go he set her free with no questions. He even offered to teleport her to a hospital if she needed one.

Golden Avatar was once a member of the Gods of the Golden Age but since returning to earth has found it difficult to catch up with his former colleagues.

Golden Avatar has lost touch with many of his friends after his long absence from earth but he still writes to Ragnarockette from time to time
Weaknesses/limitations
Just a man, with a man’s courage
For all that Golden Avatar is strong and resistant to harm he is still just a mortal man inside. He can get stuck on questions of faith and morality.
The devil inside
The deity that sleeps in him can at any time utterly and totally take control of him. He has no defense against it and has not yet formulated any way of resisting it.
I’ll be there for you
Avatar is very trusting and will willingly sacrifice himself for his friends. He has been lured into traps by villains posing as his friends. He will enter such a trap even if he knows it is there on the off chance that one of his friends is really in trouble.

Avatar is very disturbed by the sights of exceptionally horrible fates and can behave erratically or be entirely useless when exposed to them.
Adversaries
Arachnos has both him and his family on a “capture alive” list. Ghost Widow has most recently sent the elite Night Widow Cross to bring him in. While this did not result in his capture the effort is ongoing.
Avatar has pledged to incarcerate the villain know as Shock Treatment for her brutal assault on a friend of his. While he has caught her several times she has managed to stay at large due to her ties with Arachnos. The hunt continues.
Recent Developments
In an attempt to get rid of the hero for good, Nemesis arranged for his mother and sister to be kidnapped. Avatar went to save them only to find that they were somewhere within a huge mass of robotic doubles all designed to believe that they were the real sister and mother.
When he finally found his real mother and sister and tried to dimension slide away with his family a special booster engine nearby catapulted him into a distant dimension where he met a fake Nemises who told him that this planet was purely peaceful and there was no war here. Moreover, Nemesis did not know anything about it.
A small society of automatons had gathered and worked out a plan for silencing the foes of Nemesis in a new and novel way. They calculated the whereabouts of these perfect places, oasis dimension it called them. Places where being were accepted and respected and allowed to follow their hearts desires in peace. Beings here were attended to in almost all fashions, mentally physically, emotionally and spiritually.
These places would provide the points of exile for the enemies of Nemises for once there even if they had eth means to leave they surely would not. Since the Automatons handle the information gathering, they simply exclude all data of these places leaving them untouched.
The fake Nemesis told Avatar that this planet was just for him and his family but nowhere else in all of existence would they be safe and then it promptly fell to pieces.
Avatar wrestled with staying but in the end could not bring himself to abandon all eth people that needed him back on the primal earth. He bid a tearful farewell to his family and slid back to earth unsure if he would ever be able to find his mother and sister again.

Telepathic or psionic contact attracts the interest of the Deity. Send a tell for the effect or role-play with the following:
You sense a huge presence. Its enormity is likened to a planet compared to a person. When it stirs it send ripples through the entirety of your awareness and bends the whole of existence towards it. You feel drawn toward it like falling into a dark atmosphere and beginning to burn.
The deity will very casually want to flay open your psyche and examine it like a frog on the science class table. It should be extraordinarily horrifying to experience but it ceases when the contact is broken.

Golden Avatar was featured on an episode of the television show “Reality Hero”.
He often undertakes Public Relations tours for the Paragon City representative.
While he has been the object of some teen crushes, the magazine “Teen Hero Wild” speculated on a relationship between him and a famous heroine know as Miss Medusa. While he maintains that the allegation is totally groundless he does admit that she “is a really nice girl”
He sometimes sings to himself while he is battling bad guys. He seems fond of the eighties.
