Haunted

Haunted is a level 50 Illusion/Sonic controller, with a magic origin. She received her powers during the first Rikti invasion when she and several others became trapped in an underground parking lot. One of the people with Haunted that night was a young heroine who had been badly injured trying to usher her fellow citizens to safety. Just before the woman died, she grabbed Haunted's arm and told her how sorry she was, that she wished it could be different. Before Haunted could figure out what the heroine meant, the woman died. Within moments, Haunted began to hear thousands of voices, all talking at the same time. Different languages, different emotions...but all of them seemed to be directing their conversations to Haunted. And that was just the beginning. After being rescued from the parking garage, Haunted spent the next year learning more and more about what had happened to her when the heroine had "gifted" her. The powers Haunted acquired stemmed from a connection with a rift in space and time. Who or what created that rift is still unknown to Haunted, but she has learned that it collects the souls of those who have died in particularly violent ways. She's also learned that there are others like her and that they serve as some kind of stabilizing force to keep the rift from unraveling. As a result of her "gift," Haunted can now summon the images, emotions, illusions, and sounds from the rift. She's able to manifest those things in this reality and manipulate them to her will. For the most part.

• Haunted's full name is Nicole Victoria Noble. She was born in London, England on January 8, 1985, as the younger of two children. Her parents and her brother all died during the first Rikti invasion, leaving Nicole at the mercy of relatives to take care of her when she returned to Great Britain.

• She's 5'7" and weighs approximately 135 pounds.

• When she's concentrating or performing particularly complicated spells, strange symbols appear underneath her skin. They look like some of kind runic script, but it's hard to say what they are exactly. They show up most prominently on her cheekbones. forearms, and back.

• From time to time, Nicole's voice will change randomly as though someone else is speaking for her. This doesn't happen nearly as much as it used to, but it's not something that's completely stopped.

• She works part-time at an art gallery in Founders Falls, not for the money so much as the access to copious amounts of art.
